They were not even the gameplay which was fairly enjoyable. It was the fucktarded writing. Dumb as shit story, the worst cast I've ever seen (it's like they took the worst character development bioware could produce and ran it through an amplifier) and the same retarded grimdark pseudophilosophical atmosphere that infects nearly every piece of shit Obsidian has churned out that i bothered to play(except NV, which is why I refuse to play any Obsidian game that didn't have Sawyer in charge ). Now i have not tried 4th edition so i do not know what it is like, but the key to a IWD3 game would be the encounters.

IF they make some fun encounters then even the hated 4th edition should be good enough to use.

Really enjoyed? As in top tier? Pretty much just two come to mind right away: Irenicus from BG2 and Zeratul from Starcraft (1, 2 isn't canon as far as I'm concerned ). HK47 was good in both KOTORs too but I see him as more of a long-running joke than a real character. Regardless, the fact that I don't expect much out of video game characters and Kotor2 still managed to grate me so much tells zounds about Avellone's ability to churn out some of the worst shit in the galaxy. To think he actually made Torment. ffs
