I made a simple and objective rule that's easy to apply - must contain animu degeneracy or be inspired by Dark Souls, my favorite game. Because Grimoire was too oldschool for me, an RPG historian, and ripped me 3 new assholes

Arco is on the list and didn't have a codex thread until a month ago when I myself added it which no one posted on except me. Passageway of the Ancients has a 17 page thread with many at least trying the demo. So that <50 review rule isn't exactly something that would correlate to more votes.

And the list is as long as it is because of the dozens of anime games that literally no one plays.

If there's going to be a really long list on a forum about CRPGs, then all CRPGs should be on it, not 100 random anime JRPGs. The fact that random weebs on Steam gave reviews doesn't mean that's the same audience on the Codex.
I made a simple and objective rule that's easy to apply - 50 reviews or more. There will be junk in there, but it's a GOTY voting, it won't matter as long as people don't vote for them.

What you are saying is you already know which games the Codex likes and which ones are anime crap no one plays and can filter them. That's entirely subjective, you might as well just post the BosanskiSeljak personal GOTY list.
I mean, is it a GOTY voting on Codex or not, lots of the games in the list nobody on the codex ever discussed while some not on it had lots of eyes on it, feels weird to exclude something like Passageway of the Ancients that lots of Codexers actually talked about

I think a thread existing on the Codex can be an alternative to the 50 review requirement.

Add Nemire that's missing too

And Passageway of the Ancients.

And Trail of Ayash

Jesus how many RPGs were cut to keep anime shit in lol Those are just the ones I played that I know about
Those three have less than 50 reviews on Steam. Passageway of the Ancients has 12, with Mixed ratings. If we add every single RPG to the list regardless of rating or review count, that's over two thousand entries.
There are games on the list that obviously aren't rpgs though...

Imagine having a simple and objective rule like 'only put on the list what people actually nominated'

This sounds like a rule for the sake of rule, not for the benefit of those who will actually vote.

Letting codexers nominate will lead to a more focused poll and greater satisfaction.

No nomination bullshit is necessary, just check all the RPGs released in 2024 and remove the ones that haven't been discussed at RPGKKKDEX, because how the fuck could RPGKKKDEX GOTY 2024 be a game that RPGKKKDEX has not discussed at all in the first place?

That is exactly corect

But this insane cuck will never do that, because that would exclude the 80 hentai titles and Dark Souls inspired games he likes so much

Ok, since people seem to want it I can add games that are nominated. Will add all the ones mentioned in this thread, including the Rogue Trader DLC.

But I still think this is outside the goals of a GOTY poll. If you want to support a game with 12 mixed reviews on Steam you should buy it and review it, not push to add it to the voting so it gets like 2 votes and ranks #93 out of 120. The dev is asking for help & feedback on the thread for almost 2 months now and getting no replies, that would be much more helpful.

Knights of the Chalice 2 currently has 98 reviews on steam. I wonder how many it had when it was included in the relevant GOTY poll, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was A Game No One Ever Heard Of (tm).

Much of the stuff you included has mixed ratings and not many reviews. Faggot.

So, it's time to do the Codex RPG of the Year polls again! Once again, I took Abu Antar's list, removed games with less than 50 reviews and added some he was missing, like Corpus Edax and Felvidek.

From the Codex front page:

StarCrawlers Chimera
Monsters of Mican
Labyrinth: The Wizard's Cat

Another one:

Ahead of the voting I'd like to thank BioWare for making the year memorable, and Hans Zimmer for providing the score.

I'm old and forgot all requirements, do games count when they enter Early Access or when they reach 1.0?
