This one is a proper KotC-style game, but for a Pathfinder second edition rules. I kid you not, but it sucks in a couple of ways.

Pretty shit year, and yet I actually bought and finished a new game during that year.

Cannot think of anything missing off the top of my head.

This type of poll is about collecting data - you rate games that you've played. The presence of a game on the list does not come at the expense of other games. The only limiting principle is that the poll has to be short enough that people won't be too lazy to vote.

Also bunch of these games have Mixed reviews and not even their authors call them "RPGs" but action/strategy/whatever
He does this every year, to the point I stopped humoring his shams of a vote altogether - even if this trash loses, it being on the list still legitimizes its existence. Say NO to weebshit on the codex. Do not vote in felipe's polls.

Explain what the problem is.

- 80-85% of the list are extremely niche games for weebs that no one here plays or even wants to try (maybe <5 people)
- these games are typical of the Asian market while 90% of this forum are from Europe or western hemisphere and their JRPG experience comes down to 3 games (FF, Chrono Trigger, Ogre Tactics, etc)
- many games aren't even classified as RPGs by their creators, but as action/strategy/puzzle, etc.
- many games are just buggy trash or have mixed reviews
- Wukong isn't an RPG
- Felipecuck is a massive japanese faggot and DS fanboy, he does this every year with blessings from Jewshillitron

Is there even a single real CRPG on that list?

Ok guys, put your white cowls on and let's hang Felipetard, he really had it coming.

Yeah, but why does it matter. Just don't vote for the garbage. I notice that neither of you has suggested anything that's missing from the list.

So, it's time to do the Codex RPG of the Year polls again! Once again, I took Abu Antar's list, removed games with less than 50 reviews and added some he was missing, like Corpus Edax and Felvidek.

Surprisingly, the list is actually shorter than last year. I'll leave this here until the weekend to see if we're missing anything important, then ask Twiglard to make the GOTY poll.
I had those two, but for some reason forgot to put them in the 2024 released post. I've been slipping lately. These aren't the only titles.

To what end exactly?
If I go to a falconry competition except nobody brought any falcon but albino wingless pigeons instead and i know half the spectators only dig those wingless pigeons, i'm not sticking around to vote.

If we make a poll about the best car and every hipster around is allowed to add kick scooters to the list, i'm not voting either.

You could just rename the website RPGay Watch and be done with it.

Is Void Shadows going to be something we can vote for? It's a DLC but it's not like there were many RPG related things to come out last year.

Add Nemire that's missing too

And Passageway of the Ancients.

And Trail of Ayash

Jesus how many RPGs were cut to keep anime shit in lol Those are just the ones I played that I know about
Those three have less than 50 reviews on Steam. Passageway of the Ancients has 12, with Mixed ratings. If we add every single RPG to the list regardless of rating or review count, that's over two thousand entries.

Arco is on the list and didn't have a codex thread until a month ago when I myself added it which no one posted on except me. Passageway of the Ancients has a 17 page thread with many at least trying the demo. So that <50 review rule isn't exactly something that would correlate to more votes.

And the list is as long as it is because of the dozens of anime games that literally no one plays.

If there's going to be a really long list on a forum about CRPGs, then all CRPGs should be on it, not 100 random anime JRPGs. The fact that random weebs on Steam gave reviews doesn't mean that's the same audience on the Codex.

I made a simple and objective rule that's easy to apply - 50 reviews or more. There will be junk in there, but it's a GOTY voting, it won't matter as long as people don't vote for them.

What you are saying is you already know which games the Codex likes and which ones are anime crap no one plays and can filter them. That's entirely subjective, you might as well just post the BosanskiSeljak personal GOTY list.

Interesting RPGs Codex is willing to discuss should be enough of a criterion to incude a game on the list despite having less than 50 steam reviews. Since most of them will not be voted by anyone anyway what's the harm for a few more?

Chrono Ark is a card game with roguelike elements and almost 0 rpg elements.
Halls of Torment is Vampire Survivors, I wouldn't call it RPG either.

If we are including JRPGs just throw Rise of The Ronin.

But just show that 2024 was atrocious for RPGs.

Then people can filter the games I nominated as well. It's not like you have to add every "RPG" to be released in 2024 (a list that would be much smaller without random anime stuff), it's just taking suggestions from people on the Codex who actually played them. So what's the harm in 3 more non-anime RPGs being added in, especially when there's someone nominating them who can vote on them (and I'm not the only one if you look at the threads, even those that are 1 page long).

You made a rule for the list. I'm simply pointing out that list is leaving out games that can actually get proper votes, even if it's not many.

What I said doesn't mean you have to manually go through every Codex thread and consult me. If you're not going to add them, whatever. But considering I posted on 2/3 of the threads for games I mentioned (and read through all, that's how I know of them and played in the first place), I think I'd know those games had more eyes from the Codex than a huge chunk of the current list.
