I think I'm going to try Garuda because Germans are good at engineering.Which distribution of Linux are you going to install on it?
I'm not an alcoholicShould mod a Steam Deck
Can you recommend a good text rpg? I don't really play those.
I highly suggest either Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut thermal paste or their Conductonaut liquid metal.Pretty good rig, R7 7800x3d is very good for the pricetag. If you need the RAM and get it for cheap, sure why not. M2 SSD, yes please. 4080 is good enough for anything, really. Nvidia 4000 cards are awesome and quite efficient. If you have the bucks, get an Asus ROG STRIX, their cooling is just worth the money. My 4070Ti under full load (Benchmarks) doesn't exceed 73-75°. Normal use cases are about 60-70° at most.
It so happens I am acquiring a similar rig, but use my "old" 4070Ti.
That didn't even make it into my consideration. BTW, why would anyone even bother with overclocking the newest most powerful cards? They're more than powerful enough to run anything without overclocking. And if they're normal consumers, I would assume that most of them aren't even running any applications that would need them to overclock for more time efficiency.shoulda went with a 14700k or 14900k over the AMD machine. Intel problems are way overblown and are the result of normies thinking they can overclock on a tower cooler and have the cpu last.
Are you sure you can't wait for the newest x3D AMD processors? They're probably going to be even better. Eh, you will be able to upgrade later, even then AFAIK the 9000s series won't be such a big improvement, it seems like a gen more focused on efficiency than big performance gains.R7 7800x3D
I have a mac with Apple Silicon processor, and no - most of the games from the list are absolutely impossible to run on Mac. Well, it's possible hypothetically, but you have to configure so many things, it's godawful. And the result is not guaranteed - I constantly run into tons of bugs.Looking at the poll, why even get a new pc? The games listed won’t benefit from better hardware. As such, I’d recommend getting a Mac. It is a superior operating system and you shouldn’t have much trouble running any of those old titles, especially with wine. They are just so much more comfortable to use. I have both myself, but for day to day shit the Mac is much better.
Mine is a few years older. I believe this issue is the result of the Apple processors that they switched to. The intel based Mac’s can run most if not all of these games. Sometimes it can take some work, but for more popular titles ports already exist. I hadn’t considered the new processors. My mistake! I hope Apple does prioritize gaming though, as I feel that they would put out a great system for it. A lot of newer games are playable on Mac as well. Apple is overpriced and I have many issues with them, but Microsoft is quite literally the most anti consumer company in existence. Windows somehow manages to get shittier and shittier with each os.I have a mac with Apple Silicon processor, and no - most of the games from the list are absolutely impossible to run on Mac. I love my Mac, but it's definitely not for old games.

if your PC can't run HoMM3, you've wasted moneyMy 17 year old computer which worked fine before has broken. So I'm building a new one with a 4080 super (the 4090 costs twice as much for a measly 5fps more at best) and an R7 7800x3D. 128 gb of RAM of course because RAM is cheap. The parts should be coming in the mail next week. Which old crpgs from two or more decades that need nowhere close to its processing power should I play on it first?
For 20 year old games why not? There’s more to computers than gaming. Work flow is important. I guess if it doesn’t play starfield it must be shit?LOL at recommending a Mac for gaming.

kingdom come 2 releasing whenever. will be worth it, then. maybe. possibly.I don't see the point of high end GPU, like who would pay a lot to play woke AAA ESG bugfest in 4k 60fps?
You're forgetting about your eye upgrade so you can enjoy that 8K graphics. You can probably get some 8k graphics skyrim mods with extremely high quality breast physics these days.
