I'm curious to try their later games now. Fallout 76 and that space one.
76 is liked only by Rusty. There are much better MMOs, e.g. Bioware mmo (SWTOR) is okay.
Shitfield is an utter failure equal to DA V: Troonguard.
Hope MS kills Bethesda after TES6 or F5.

Haha I worry that Starfield didn't fail hard enough. Elder Scrolls 6 is doomed.

I did play F4 at release, maybe nowadays with mods and much lauded "far harbor" it will be more than "meh".
Need to finish Drova first.

Thanks, the newer ones sound like decline.

For me these kinds of games only work if my suspension of disbelief holds up. It is really important for me. People use that phrase talking about movies. It is perfect to describe what I feel playing some games. It doesn't seem to matter in some games, like a card game or RTS or something. But in open world type games I need to feel engaged and I need to feel like it will last a while. As soon as I feel like I'm in a console game with limited depth and it will end soon, then I start questioning what's the point. It completely destroys all my interest, my disbelief is no longer suspended, I am disbelieving everything. You want me to go to Winterhold and do zee quests for zee better magic? Fuck you! The place is basically one building with 4 loading screens and a bunch of goofy uncanny valley NPCs with chore quests all to give you access to a few extra crappy spells.

I really hate Skyrim... The combat was always an issue too, so shitty. Just having an FPS version of it makes it inherently much better. But Skyrims world was far too small for me, not enough enemy types, copy paste wolves and draugr everywhere.... Boring items. Boring quests, locations, characters. I truly hate that game.

I didn't feel that at all playing Morrowind and mostly with Oblivion. There's a tipping point. Have just enough 'stuff' and I will be engaged by the game and it will suspend my disbelief. But it's rare that I can feel like that. Especially seeing as EQ spoilt me so hard and set a high bar for what a virtual could be like. I'm glad this game exists at least.

I gotta admit, F4 isn't as abominable as F3 (not even close) and might be even be enjoyable with condition to never ever interact with NPCs but even there still it's for an acquired taste. Dungeon design is pretty cool by itself too, not gonna lie here.

But as it stands, in full face, the game is obnoxious as fuck. I remember vividly reading the Cotex review and being amazed at how perfectly everything was trashed down there.

F4 is so weird, ugly and limpdicked.

F3 had some good side quests, which F4 completely lacks.
Which ones? I remember people were praising quest design/its structure here but for me it was really hard to look and appreciate any aspects of said "game" when the whole experience was like dreaming awake and instead of going into Fallout world being exposed to Kafka level batfuck shit with some recognizable patters thrown in my face in attempt to fool me or something.

I said good, but now that I think about it, what I meant to say was memorable. Oasis, Paradise Falls, Big Town, Moira and the wasteland survival guide. I remember it all like I played it yesterday. Problem is, once you think about it for a couple of seconds you realize it's all incredibly retarded. But at the very least a lot of them aren't forgettable, which is a worse sin than retardation, and one that Fallout 4 commits in droves.

Making me want to play 3 again. Not sure what was so retarded about them, but they are memorable for sure. It's such a clunky game though.

Not even sure. I helped Paladin Vance and his 2 peeps. Then I did one or two quests for them and I think I have some more. But I headed to Diamond City. Visited most of the peeps, got some more quests. Decided to go wandering instead! I will probably head back there after I do some random quests / breaking and entering.

The main reason I ask is because having the Brotherhood of Steel spawned into the world adds some additional elements that add to the chaos during exploration. A lot of Vertibird action with the BoS jumping out and fighting, super mutants / raiders etc shooting at the Vertibirds causing them to crash violently. It's quite something.

From the sounds of it, you would need to go to Valentine's Detective Agency in Diamond City, go find Nick, go back to Diamond City and talk to Nick at his agency, do his little quest, then go to Fort Hagen and deal with that. That will spawn in the BoS. Danse will get a hold of you, then follow that questline to be introduced to their HQ in the Commonwealth. Trying to be vague in my descriptions. It will liven up the world as you are out and about.

This is notoriously broken to this day. The spawn is based on leaving the dungeon with the shortcut exit. Leave any other way and the main quest just breaks. People will react as though they've spawned, but won't spawn.

Asking the Lone Wanderer to go to the Super Duper Mart to try and scavenge food 200 years after the bombs fell. Sierra Petrovita and her retarded obsession with nuka cola quantum. Harold managing to travel from west to east coast... cause reasons?
A bunch of slaves who ask you to clear out slavers at the Lincoln Memorial so they can move into an area which is absolutely infested with super mutants.
It's not only tone-deaf, it just doesn't make a lick of goddamn sense. And that's just off the top of my head.

I remember reading that quite some time ago. I can't imagine backtracking all that way to the entrance, but for those that do and break the quest, here is the info to fix it as long as your aren't on console. I can't verify this because I have always exited via the rooftop.

https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Reunions?so=search#Bugs
The Prydwen and Brotherhood of Steel Vertibirds will only appear if Fort Hagen is exited via the rooftop. If the player exits the area by retracing their steps, it will present a "bug": The Brotherhood of Steel will not spawn in the sky, however NPCs in Diamond City will comment on the "Blimp" being at the airport and such but it will not be accessible. To fix this, simply travel back to the fort and leave the building via the elevator to the roof and exit through the door, using the terminal inside the rooftop exit room to unlock the door.
After killing Kellogg, the Prydwen may not be seen in the sky and Military frequency AF95 may not play. This can be fixed using the console command setstage 2bf21 1 This will teleport the player to the roof of the Cambridge Police Station and tell them to board the Vertibird
