Phenix - an emulator of 3DO. The author is not aware of any non-playable games (100% compatibility?). So now you can enjoy such classics as: Alone in the Dark 1/2, Lemmings, Myst or Wolfenstein 3D... yeah.. I don't know, maybe the console has some good exclusives.

:dead:

And we still have no decent Dreamcast emulator. On the other hand Cen64 is shaping pretty well.

What is wrong with FourDO? I've yet to encounter a game that doesn't work and I have pretty much a full rom set (216 games). As for the console itself, I actually bought a 3DO the first week it was released in the states. Fucking ripoff, $350 to be exact and controllers were $50. Most the games were shit and awkward but there were some very "different", enjoyable hidden gems. I quite enjoyed Snow Job for example, and there was AD&D Slayer, plus a few other random playable games. Ended up selling the whole system on ebay a year ago though.

spekkio have you seen this emulator recommendation site yet?

Not usually a fan of these kind of lists because most people are ignorant, but this one gets mostly everything right. You could just copy their emu info to your first post here if you're ever bored.

Anyone have a working PS2/3 controller on nullDC? Directions work no problem but none of the other buttons do.

My Logitech TurdBox controller works no problem but that one has no analog sticks.

32X (Console)
Best Emulator: RetroArch (PicoDrive Core)

PicoDrive represents a solid, open-source 32X emulator which appears to be roughly on par with Steve Snake's closed-source Kega Fusion. In fact, PicoDrive only has troubles with a few titles that are no problems for Kega Fusion. That said, while NonMESS mainly focuses on accuracy, Kega Fusion's status as a closed-source emulator tilts the balance slightly in favor of PicoDrive.

Kega Fusion is an archaic turd, it's so manboon you have to edit the config file just so it uses 32-bit in fullscreen. I haven't encountered any games that are troublesome using Picodrive in RA. Months ago, it had issues with Blackthorne but that seems to be fixed now. Either way, 32x is one of the worst systems ever so who cares.

Say what you will about open source whoring but it beats closed source shit when it comes to emulators, otherwise we wouldn't have nice things like lagfree Dolphin or Nestopia Undead. Hell, just look at Magic Engine to see why closed source is gayness. Fuckers charging loot for an emulator is so ridiculous I can't even breathe.

Last night I discovered that Mednafen outputs anaglyphic 3D when emulating Virtual Boy, and I found an old pair of 3D glasses that actually work. What a trip. Can't play for more than 10 minutes though or you feel like you're going blind but it's pretty cool.

Tested both values (0,1) and the outcome is exactly the same: 32 BPP fullscreen. Now Gens - that's a different story (16 BPP fullscreen).

Of course OS beats CS as a rule. Problem is, what if I don't care and CS emu is more accurate than OS one?
Some fags go "I'm gonna promote the inferior OS emu instead of superior CS one, because the authors of the latter ignore my aryan OS agenda", which is retarded. I just wanna play some games, thank you.

That's another thing and 101% retarded, since people will juarez the emu anyway...
Oh, except when they retarded enough to use a closed environment (smartphones, tablets) which may make pirating difficult (esp with even more DRM in the future). But they deserve the worst anyway...

I ditched Kega ages ago so that must've been changed then. It used to default to 16-bit and I recall the setting doesn't even appear in the main menu, wonderful. Either way, Kega's old as dick and redundant. Gens Plus GX in RA kills it with better accuracy and Picodrive is fine if you're ever actually bored to play any 32x.

What's funny about Magic Engine is I'm pretty sure Mednafen has better compatibility and is of course free, plus updated regularly. I remember removing Magic Engine from shelf before I found Medna and a couple T16 English patched games wouldn't even run in it. Shameful.

Which reminds me; why is TurboGrafx so insanely overlooked and underrated to this day? So many great shooters and different games you can't find on any other system. That music too.

Frank Klepacki actually complained about T16's limited audio capabilities (composed for Order of the Griffon), so you can really tell in many games that the hardware was pushed to the max with creativity. TurboCD was no slouch either, certainly had a better library than 3DO.

N64 emulation is looking up as well. Cen64 seems to be coming along lately. Great to see some screenshots with a usable FPS finally, so there's something to look forward to.

GlideN64 (indiegogo funded plugin) has been progressing as well and there is a beta available to backers. For anyone curious about what it offers who may have missed the campaign:

Any tips on emulating MGS2?

So far enabling 8 bit textures has done wonders for me but I still have frame drops to 40 (especially in the tanker).

Final Fantasy Tactics should I use a modded PSX Iso for the translation (does anyone know of one which doesnt change the game too much) or just emulate the psp version?

Now we talking. Wonder what improvements it have toward some titles. D3D sound nice, games already run smooth but won't mind some more boost.

Don't wanna start new thread so I'll ask here - do you guyz think diz whole emulation thing is over? I mean, emulation of consoles that are newer than PS2/GC/Wii/PSP/DS? There's a small hope for 3DS emu but the rest? And I'm not even talking about current gen.
