You might need to be a berserker of a certain rank first.

You can buy it in your stronghold instead, once you invest 3000 in hiring a trader.

What's that? You don't have a stronghold? Better go find it!

- Where exactly do I turn auto-lock off?
Or do you mean presssing X every fuggin time?

- I was following Stormond listening to his heresy all the time. Now he is at the bar supposedly waiting for that mechanics guy. But nothing seems to happen. What am I supposed to do?

PS: I wish Attributes did more than they do!

Options -> difficulty (yeah, hilarious place to put that)

Go chat with the healer girl that you see with him when you meet him for the first time.

I'm trying to do the "Final Arrangements" and "Request for Help" quests, but when I
return to Eli he has already been suggested and there's nothing I can do to help him. I still have the quest with Baldur open, but again, I have nothing I can do there and Baldur says nothing aside from the one line of default dialogue.

Anyone murdered everyone in this game's Thieves's Guild just to make up for the fact that you couldn't do the same in Skyrim?

Took me 30 minutes to go from chapter 2 to chapter 3 because I had already done all/most of the things you need to do in Chapter 1... Oh PB...

Hilariously mocking parody on thumbs down review, sadly on Russain for now, maybe later I'll translate it, or you can do it instead.

Also, if these albs chug Elex pots since childhood, pretty much every alb you meet should be a boss-tier encounter that one-shots you because all their stats are gonna be like 120.

From what I understood the Albs are going through decline now and the Hybrid is hoarding up most of the elex for itself, so there's less of the stuff being passed around to the grunts. A nice lore explanation for why they aren't supreme supermen right now. Also there are lore reasons why Jax and his brother are the stronkest, but that's spoiler territory.

Risen was the same. Nothing wrong with some freedom.

Risen didn't have as much sequence breaking as ELEX, though (unless 2 & 3 had more than the first game?). This is closer to Gothic 3 territory of how much sequence breaking the game allows, and it's glorious as hell.

 "In batman I was just using 1 button, in witcher they made me use 2. now here I must use more what are we getting back to stone age?"
"i know only 3 types of ratins is 8-9-10/10 7/10 my bros say is no game"

I agree with whoever said (Luckmann?) that quest "forbidden technology" is shitty - because you can only make correct action during first talk with quest giver, not after you evaluate and speak with the guy near weapon.

But that can be said about many quests, they have odd ways of triggering and some odd logic to them.

I don't know why people praise C&C. Perhaps they experience game at different pace than I am, but while there are some choices inside quests, the C&C is nothing but awkward (you learn about it mostly by speaking to the boss of the faction who evaluates your actions). Meanwhile, logical, fluent C&C like factions fighting each other or reacting to your actions, I don't see much. People been mocking Fallout 4 references here, but in F4 I remember factions and companions attacking each other. At least I think if you say turn brotherhood companion into rebel, brotherhood would attack you and him on sight. Here 2 cleric bros jump pack around viking village solving quests and nobody cares really. I was waiting for something more random and natural, not to face consequences only if I press some button (if I ever even will, since I'm already in a faction anyway).

Vikings constantly nagging me about opening my character screen is even more annoying than guards praising your restoration skills in Skyrim. What, your character screens are made of wood or something? It's metagame action, way of using inventory and checking stats, goddamit.

Game seems to designed like mmo, where you proceed from one batch of quests in area into another. There are even normal mobs (beakers) that become more powerful in further areas. It is not designed for my way of play personally (literally moment into the game and I joined Clerics, grabbed their armor & weapons and psionics).

Although there are Suggestion options (cleric special skill) in viking quests, I've seen at least 1.

I don't understand why people praise factions either and think they are morally complex. They're made of popular things today - vikings, basically Skyrim larpers; BOS from Fallout & mad max raiders/outlaws. Since game requires you to get huge amounts of XP (final upgrade is level 25?), you just work from one to another, and since there are high tier weapons and skills for everybody, it's not like there are actual underdogs and not. If anything, power armor training in New Vegas was more "incloosive" than any spells or equipment here.

It's not "hmm I nobody must choose correctly whom I associate with and evaluate these factions", it's "well, gotta reach dat level 15, time to switch from viking quests to outlaws".

The story of the game is also thery awkward, with sudden cutscenes and flashbacks at some places, although I like some hints on old world like posters. So I am interested in knowing what is the story about really, what are the world hearts, and just what will happen. So I guess while they reused a lot from what is popular today, they put their own derpy twist on everything.

Meaning world design (like in most PB games of worth really) might be stronger point here, as even old monuments and things to sight see serve some purpose (like big dam or farms). Although sometimes they lack in most obvious things (Cleric base has no actual hospital/doctor to teach you Chemistry?).

I still believe them trying their hand in open world game is just sorta going modern and their design is completely not suited for very big open area game. It's to much nonsensical stuff and hard locks and respawning trash murder mobs that don't even have unique ways of dealing with them (weak spots, specific anti-armor weapons - you just grind for weapon for MORE DAMAGE). Enviromental dangers are exception but even they are awkward (step on random stone, SUDDENLY CATCH FIRE).

The combat is just bad, as well as character system. I especially like "turn stats into skill points to invest into skills that give you more stats".

The exploration and something gothic-like about this game keeps me going though, grinding from one hardlocked character option to another. In many ways it's same ocd drive that AoD used to make you keep going I think.

Part of it may come from my supressed slavic fetishism of "PLAY NOBODY NOT LIKE CASUL BIOWARE CHOSEN ONE STALKER SUFFER SQUAT UNTIL LEVEL 700 YOU CAN NOW USE IMPROVED STICK WITH STONE ON IT".

It should have some negative consequence, though -- increase coldness, for example.
I think this might be the case. I noticed my cold level increased and party members seemed to comment about it. Noticed the title changed. I hadn't done anything except maybe 1 or 2 quests and didn't notice cold increasing, but I've quaffed a lot of those elex potions around that time. Str is around 80, Con and Dex is around 70. Could explain why Cold lvl can hit 1000 also and why the range is 80-1000 on that Synthetic skill.

The real awesome button:

Get Origin -> Add Trader to the location -> He has an infinite amount of Natural ELEX (10 pieces each time you trade with him) -> Craft ELEX Drink (+2 Attributes) -> Reach STR 100 or whatever number you like -> Profit

You will notice that even if you exploit this your money will run out very quickly. Remember, 30K for full faction armor at highest rank, ~20K for a fully upgraded & enchanted/modded weapon, etc. etc. I am constantly starved for money and I already brewed 100+ elex potions. +2 attribute points is NOT a lot when it costs /5/ for 1 point, and you need 75 points just to get from 60 to 75 strength... that's already ~40 Elex potions.

The economy is excellently balanced.

Agree. I'm constantly below 1k and have to steal or hunt just to sell trophies to afford more Elex or craft things or pay the trainers. You don't swim in money in this game and you definitely can't spam Elex potions and max stats whenever you feel like.

Choosing a faction to join is too hard. Clerics are absolute cunts but I love their guns, Berserkers hate technology needlessly and Outlaws are basically TV stealing niggers but again I love the firepower. At the same time I want to give Magalan a future so Berserker is the best way to go, but what kind of future is just shitting from trees with no innovation? I guess having mana powered firearms would be rad but the fucks on top won't allow me ebil technology.

Yeah, I feel exactly same way. Clerics represent same technocracy that grind humanity today, but have cool armour and weapon, which is interesting to try out.
Outlaws feels like pit filled with shit, that's "no future" for sure, BUT I like that thief-rogue archtype they based on, and actually want to join them.
Bereserkers feels like real future for game world, but I dont want to join them, BUT I want them to survive and to win.
You see?
So I don't want to join Berserkers, but want them to succeed, I want join Outlaws, but wan't them to fail, and don't wan't to join Clerics and them to win, but their shiny toys.

Vault Dweller are you with us? What do you think about such approach? I think it would be definitely cool to allow player to act like this.
Which approach? I agree that the factions are very well done. There are no good guys there and you can see why each factions survived and made it this far. The Clerics were the biggest surprise for me (I expected a lot less from this faction). So you have to choose the lesser evil not a savior.

I wish they did the unique bonuses differently (why the outlaws can't salvage parts from weapons and the others can't?) but that's nitpicking.

Well, toro claims that he reached level 35 so it's possible that he has enough money to max the stats at this stage (not that it matters greatly at this point, I assume). I'm level 15 and my STR is 55, DEX 40 or so, CON 30, INT 30. I'm broke and can't afford to buy more Elex right now.
