no no in gothic 1/2 you can’t damage enemy with good armor this is why when you look at humanoids in gothic 1/2 you judge their power by their armor.

what you can do in gothic 1/2 is put all the point in strenght and swing a two handed weapon like a retarded (no training point invested) but still kill a tough enemy because you managed to pierce the armor not really fun but can work.
(...)
i don’t know how armor exactly work in elex but the feeling is close/identical to g1/2

Wouldn't work in Gothic 2. Standard attacks were not modified by Strenght. You needed to raise 1-handed/2-handed skill which, aside from improving combat animations and attack combo-ability, was also literally your % chance to Crit. A Critical Hit was simply Strength modifier added to weapon damage.

Are the PSI spells supposed to look really bland and boring? I thought when I got chain lightning I would be shooting actual lightning not some little gay ass ball with some shitty spark fx
Just be thankful for a spammable aoe damaging stunning mass effect ball that can clean 5-6 enemies in a stunlock with 1 mana bar even at skill level 1.

And since mana restores with sleeping and there are teleports, time for some baldur's gate tactic baby yeaa.[/QUOTE]
now some mob respawn (not all mobs i’m 100% sure about that) and abusing sleeping make ememy respawn

I like the open world elements combined with C&C so far, and from what I've read there will be more consequences for the quest resolutions down the road so big

there.

What I don't like is the lack of guns at the beginning. Didn't know what stats to spend and hoarded all for some time. While it makes sense to find no laz0rs in Goliet, why the fuck are none of the "quest" weapons we find on Cleric bodies usable? They could have placed at least one low grade usable weapon in that area. I then stole the extra one from the fake fetch quest but it wasn't usable or tradeable as well. Oh and stupid design there, you can steal that weapon if you've completed the quest, but stealing it during the quest triggers a cutscene even if the npc is sleeping.

Speaking of it, I wish the day - night cycle had been implemented better. All doors are open at night, you can just waltz in and steal everything that is not nailed to the floor without a single point in thievery skills. Arcanum really did that well, shouldn't be that hard on a game like ELEX

People have used Cheat Engine to determine your HP. At base you have 100hp. At max Con and max HP skills, you have 250hp. Equipment does the heavy lifting and I'm happy with that because it makes looting stuff really satisfying when you get an upgrade. The itemization for a game of this size is surprisingly good. It could easily have been Oblivion level with so much crap that noone has any use for. The fact that money-making skills are still a boon 40+ hours in to the game makes me really happy because few games do that well. And almost none from the past 5 years (barring some mods).

I do kinda wish they could have expanded on Risen's responsiveness with the stamina and combo system from ELEX though. It's not GREAT combat, but it does the job as a vehicle for exploration.
what about the potions that permanently add to your hp and stamina? Can you not go above 250 hp? Also I remember reading something about max stamina being 140 after learning the 2 stamina skills, but I've also quaffed a 2 or 3 stamina potions that add +20 to stamina. Was that a waste?

game over, men

Daamn! Where did you find it?
Converter in North Abessa.

There is one that does 109 damage I found
Set your marker to the east side of the small volcano. There is a large metal door guarded by a cyclops.

Really if you find a War Bow though, just upgrade that. It does 120 damage fully upgraded. Haven't found a range weapon do more than that.

worked i remember the crappy rusty two handed you can find early in the game.
and by “worked” i mean it can damage more stuff than the early one handed weapons, because the low strenght requirement and relative good damage.

umm check better: door aren’t open THERE IS NO DOORS AT ALL

it’s since gothic one that NPC hit the doorframe with an hammer (18 years old animation) and still they don’t have figured how to place doors.

No windows either, mostly.

Anyway, I am like level 26 now and just started chapter 2.
Stats are 75 Strength, 60 everything else to get all the skills I wanted.

Have only used melee so far and am happy with it. I ignored spells -- but just now tried the "Weapon Damage" buff spell from the Berserkers. Even with just 3/5 Spellcasting it does HUGE damage buff. I can two-shot most people. This is on ULTRA HARDKOR DIFFICULTY, too. If all the Berserker spells are this effective I should really skill into them. Will try Ghost Wolf next because Jax gets lonely at night.

Not complaining about the damage buff, though. I suffered a long, long, long time to get to this point so I deserve killing some weaklings with ease.

Anyone playing / replaying: Elexite is what you need. Do everything to maximize $$$ gain. Hunt, steal, amass the most currency. Currency = attributes. Absolutely essential. Also gear is hyper-expensive.

i want to join outlaw and understand what bonus they have.
dismantle weapons? look pointless
craft ammo? unless is special ammo look pointless

stimpacks require raw elex.. so i hope they are disgusting powerfull.

i hope their obsession with profit mean something maybe it’s the rich faction and swim in elex?

Yeah I don't like the way the game is balance with attributes. Maybe it would be better if you just needed a +1 up to 40, +2 up to 80, +4 up to 100 assuming that's the max. Then remove the ability to create elex potions from natural elex. Sure you can have them hand placed around the world, or combine small into medium, medium into large, but I hate the grindy nature of it all.

You can't get to 85 in a stat straight up from leveling I don't think. So abilities that require it become useless, because you'll never learn them. And good luck being able to use the best weapons in the game too because you need two high stats. Generally Str and Dex, but if you want to use a high lvl shield you need Con at 85 as well.

Elex yeah dismantle weapon is kind of useless, sometimes you get some resources and a little more cash, not sure it's worth a skill point. Create ammunition is probably useless too. I only looked at shotgun shells, but I noticed frag shells cost 7 elex and it costs 1 elex for a regular shell, yet on create ammunition you need about 6 shotgun shells and iron ore to create one frag. Waste of time. Not sure if other ammo is same.

To be honest I do think it's somewhat intentional - it's meant to show you how much you have to rely on Elex to become powerful. You will NEVER get all the best (or even just one of the best) skills because of the high requirements without chugging elex like a monster.

It should have some negative consequence, though -- increase coldness, for example.

My dude has been drinking more Elex than before he crashed!

Also, if these albs chug Elex pots since childhood, pretty much every alb you meet should be a boss-tier encounter that one-shots you because all their stats are gonna be like 120.

Pretty sure you can. I am swinging my 2-handed weapon near endlessly with 2 talents in stamina and 3 potions. Should give me double starting stamina. Not 100% sure, but pretty sure. (Just for stamina tho)

They probably wasted all of their elex on small elex potions and have just recently found the recipe for the medium ones. Jax stole the recipe and tried to post it on the internet, which is why he was hunted and almost killed. Now the albs are trying to get as much elex as possible to boost their stats. Kind of like this

I can't seem to find a recipe for stamina potion, apparentely Caldrim is supposed to sell it but he doesn't for me? Or do I have to do a quest for him?
