What pronouns are people talking about I just started this and there weren't any pronouns in character creation or anything like that.

Yeah the devs look like cucks but whatever that's most people including the ones who made your favourite RPGs
You have two body types - one is a dude with a beard and the other is a dude with a beard and tits, but I guess current year codexers have no issue with that lmao

You might say that the game is good, but this is like putting a drop of shit in a barrel of honey - the end product will be a barrel of shit. :M

I didn't even notice that I just kept the normal male body didn't click through everything.

I'm assuming you have a thing for big titty bearded transvestites so you always try to make one? :smug:

I gave the game another shot after all the shilling here, and was pleasantly surprised. It really is good, and Gothic-like. Woke-wise, there's stronk womyn and niggers everywhere, but I haven't encountered any homos or troons yet, at least.

Simply not true from my experience. You have one model that is obviously male. You switch to the next and it's obviously a female. And no, when I switched there was no beard or any other masculine trait on that obviously female model. Getting up in arms about that is absurd, and when I switched between the two models I actually couldn't believe that's where all the crying was coming from.

I really don't even want to address this as it has nothing to do with the game or gameplay - which is what should be being discussed here - but I can't just watch people posting falsehoods in this thread about one of the best action RPGs we've seen in years. Buy the game or aquire it by other means, I really don't care. I just don't want people missing out on a good game for stupid, or outright false, reasons.

I agree with you, but what are you expecting from people who fight these stupid fights?

Sincerity? Honesty? Intelligence?

Hit Chapter 4 tonight, at 30 hours and a ton more side content opened up in Chapter 4. The world has changed quite a bit with lots of new monsters and situations occuring.

It's another element that reminds me a lot of Gothic 1 & 2, the way the world changes subtly and not so subtly between chapters as time passes and the story flows.

Have to force myself to quit playing. It's that addictive. Gotta lova all the small details, don't want to spoil them all for anyone though.

The NPC schedules are pretty simple. However, seeing that guy at the tavern at night switching between his drinking routines and then running out to take a pee never ceases to make me smile. Naturally, there's fully authentic sound FX to accompany it all. Meanwhile, the "bard" next door comes over every evening to make some music for all the Drovans to dance and drink to. Robbed his home whilst he was away on "music maker duty". :smug:

Every option is simply numbered. Body type, hair, beard, colours, what have you.

Music and atmosphere has continued to improve the further I've gotten too. Highly recommend walking around at night as much as you can too. Also, like Nemeton way more than the Remnant camp, but that's just a personal preference. Remnant camp is cool in that it's built in the romanesque ruins, but I like the green village aesthetic much better.

EXTREMELY cool touch pretty much in the beginning, found by starting a new game to test a few things:

The first NPC you meet, the guy telling you he couldn't
take you to Nemeton as he'd have an appointment
... he doesn't actually despawn.

You can follow him all his way back to base of operations, Nemeton. Naturally, you can't enter there yet.

It's Asmus, the guy from Nemonton. He makes a stop at the ruins just outside the Ruins Camp to meet with somebody -- upon which you're discovered, asked whether you'd been following him and whatever they're meeting for falls through. "No witnesses!" the lass from the Ruin Camp shouts. That was obviously his appointment he was talking about. Which they actually coded to "happen" thus if you follow.

So much stuff in there. Prior went back to the starting area in my actual save and found a location I hadn't actually yet been to as well.

Codex GOTY 2024, bitches, mark it down!

It is fate! Piranha Bytes shuts down in 2024, one of the all time legendary studios, and voila, in comes an unknown studio full of German nerds with ponytails, and makes a 2D Gothic. The Video Game Gods were like, oh hell no, the thread of Art must continue (despite Loki and Satan pushing Todd Howard, bear sex, and Ubisoft).

Yeah, i'd argue they handle exploration better than gothic games in some way too. For example mandragoras are always fun to get (the ingredients to create perma potions). The first time it really surprised me. You hear a lullaby, then find around for what caused it then pull the mandragora out and get ko'd by its scream.

The little shrines with riddles that give stat bonus is also fun. I was honestly doubtful if they could recreate exploration feel of gothic without Z axis, but they did it.

No z-axis still annoys me to no end, especially when there are ledges you can jump down from but the same ledges can't be jumped up. No matter how well they design everything else, the lack of verticality unequivocally detracts from the experience. Still good though, it's a rare RPG where I truly feel like I can jump into the world without following some kind of formula, which is why I hold Gothic in such a high regard. Even some of my favourites have a "formula" for how to approach so I'm impressed so far.

Yeah, I miss this as well.

I wonder if they'd consider doing a proper 3d sequel/similar game if Drova sells well.

Either way, definitely one of the best things I've played this year.

They're either way not locking themselves into purely making 2D games, despite their studio's name (Just2D, after all). In a podcast they said the name came about as they'd entered a competition way back, and despite winning it, the jury judged their efforts basically like this: "Despite this being just a 2D game..." So they picked that and ran with it as the studio's name. :D

Exactly fucking that. We should be pointing out and ridiculing, no, hounding, all the examples of both SWJ woke shit and fake news calling things woke when they are not: repeated examples branded by some tags like "drama creator" so people know who is bullshitting instead of having actual discussion and creating fake news after falling for their own propaganda, regardless of the source. And while we are at it, close the game forums to anyone who has more than a three to one post ratio in the political section to the game section.

As for the game itself, in the first hour of the game I got to the endgame location where the enemies could one shot me, ran to the powerful weapon, stole it and sold it for some starting money while exploring the area, and was able to complete the quest without anyone giving it to me or pointing it out to me (AND it actually made sense, following the logical course of thought). I could kill a monster that attacked a huntress and find her in the wilderness without knowing about it, but on the other hand I couldn't accuse a guy camping in a cave of being a thief when I didn't know that something had actually been stolen in the area. So yes, this game is bloody Gothic-esque and don't listen to any idiots who tell you otherwise.

You're wilfully ignorant if you don't see the agenda from the devs. Body type A/B, world is full of niggers even though it's a world blatantly based on ancient Europe, strong womyn warriors everywhere. One of the first characters you meet is a negress that bosses you about. It's practically a Sweetbaby product. You're allowed to like the game in spite of these things, but don't pretend the game isn't woke when it blatantly is.

G2 niggers were from Southern Isles (Gorn) and Varant (Saturas, Vatras etc) conquered by central Myrtana. Varant also had spics (Diego).

I have no idea how they explained diversity in this game since i haven't played it. But i press x to doubt the reason why nigger and warrior women prancing around in this game is because "it's like Gothic".

At least be honest you are playing another DEI shit which just happens to be fun instead of downplaying this shit while hi-fiving and circle sucking each others dicks lol

The body type stuff bothers me (and influences the actual GAME) about as much as the study about helicopter dick and its influence on the wind direction on the globe, but I can agree that it's stupid that they didn't go with "male and female".

"There are strong women there" - it is a custom fantasy setting made by the authors of the game. For all I care, there could be a game about playing only as an Amazon in an Amazon tribe fighting Mongols like camel riders in the desert, and if it was well made, logically consistent, and written with interesting options/plot, I would play it. You are the kind of person who would shit on LOTR for having Arwen and Eowyn. You are a type of person who would shit on Glorantha for having multiple genders and sexes in a world where changing sex is as easy for some creatures and humans as a simple magical ritual and shit deeply tied into both gender roles and ACTUAL GODS EXISTING IN SHAMANIC REALITY.

As for the last point - you literally follow a pair of magicians into the dangerous area where the master is dying and the other is the only person who can save your ass, so you logically focus on her instructions. She happens to be black and dies right after the prologue, while your PC survives. I bet you would call Gothic woke if it was Gorn who saved you at the beginning of the game.

And while we are at it...
