I feel like you missed the point of the original question that I answered. Someone asked if the combat system would be more refined or not in DD2. I simply responded that the guy who was responsible for all the gameplay from the players perspective is gone, not whether or not the overall design of the game would be intact or not.
The main designer on both the original Dragon's Dogma, and the Devil May Cry games is Ikeda. If your worry is that Capcom lost the lead game designer, don't be, because they didn't. They did lose one of the lead designers, but it wasn't the lead, and it wasn't even the guy that became the director on Dark Arisen when Itsuno and Ikeda went and did the Special Edition of DMC4.
I get your point. The thing is the lead designer is still at Capcom and is most likely working on this game like he worked on Dragon's Dogma, and like he worked on Devil May Cry 3, 4, and 5. The guy that left is not the main person behind how the combat or the overall game felt. Your original point about this being some worrying thing is just kind of misleading; it was very much in line with those articles that gave the impression the lead combat designer behind the DMC games and Dragon's Dogma left Capcom to work on Final Fantasy 16, but that isn't the case.
A good point to that one person's question, as to whether or not combat in this game would be refined over the previous Dragon's Dogma because this one is being made by the Devil May Cry team would be: The first Dragon's Dogma was also made by the DMC team.
My point was that while Ryota Suzuki was a lead, he was by no means the lead. While he was likely important to the team, he was by no means the driving force behind how the game played. That your biggest worry about this game doesn't actually seem to be something that should be a worry. If I were guessing as to who were the most important people on the design team, it'd probably be the two guys that have been with Hideaki Itsuno since DMC3, (lead game designer Yoichiro Ikeda & Gameplay AI Lead Norimasa Sankoda) and the guy that took over directing the DLC and directed Dragon's Dogma Online (Kento Kinoshita). The main designers and the lead programmer are still at Capcom. A lot of the Dragon's Dogma lead designers still seem to be at Capcom, and most were still working under Itsuno on DMC5; Ryota Suzuki seems to be the only person that left.
