It's been days - days - that we've been mining this game for cringe. Eventually you think the well is dry but this thing goes all the way down to bedrock.

Wouldn't have saved this dumpster fire of a game but some of the concept companions seem way more interesting than what the end product was.

This is already looks like it went through a HR filter for the most part.

Bruv, the game has almost 15k reviews on steam with a 73% positive rating despite being woke. Meaning even the internet warriors weren't able to bring it down from 'Mostly Positive'. It even has the LGBTQ+ tag.

So I keep playing.
The companions are adorable except Neve, she's an annoying bitch, makes me wish there was an option to kill companions.
Some side quests are fun and offer variety from the main story but lots of side quests are extremely repetitive, like having to kill blight champions again and again and again to unseal gateways at the crossroads.
The main story carries enough weight to keep me interested.
The itemization is kind of boring but it is nice overall once you start finding unique items that change the way you play and build your character.
But until then it's just boring stat increases.
Overall it's not a bad game but they made the mistake of marketing it as something it is not.
Attempting to imitate inquisition's success is meaningless and unwise because that game came out when the market wasn't controlled by soulslike clones.
The trends were different back then.

LOL, honestly, reading this thread and watching the videos is just making me want to play the game even more! I’m almost done with Rogue Trader, and since I can’t legally buy the game in my region… well, looks like I’ll be sailing the high seas to see the Dragon Age saga through to the end! ‍

Unlike previous DA games the companion content is not really optional in Veilguard. Technically it is, in that you can not do their quests and still proceed with the main quest. But you have to do every single companions quest to avoid the bad ending of the game. And also a lot of game levels (and the loot in them) can only be accessed via companion quests.
