"Bioware was always woke" - well, yes and no.

Biowhore was always at the forefront of whatever counts as sjw/woke, as mandated by globohomo regime propaganda at any given time. But what exactly this means changes wildly with the years.

I'm playing Ass Effect 1 now. Released in 2007.

Protagonist is customizable, but there's a default appearance that is a (traditional action hero looking) White guy who's also heavily featured in all promo materials. The default female does not get much portrayal outside of the game of whoever picked her for their playthrough. For all intents and porpoises, Commander Shepard is that buzzcut guy.

First companion: normal-looking White guy. Out of seven companions, four are male, and none of the males are effete.

The military spaceship is staffed with men who look and act the part. No gender quota dieversity bullshit. The captain of the ship is a Black man (Obummer). Human representative in the interstellar government is a Black man (Obummer). The ship's doctor is a somewhat sultry womynz. One of the three core alien races is an all-female space slut species.

Main antagonist (so far) is an alien male, and his cohort is an (alien) female. No "white men can only be evil villains, female antagonists must be extremely sympathetic tho" bullshit. At least, so far.

By today's insane standards, this game was made literally by Hitler. But by the standards of 2007, it was quite woke to begin with. You start out with two male companions, and one of them immediately gets killed and replaced by a random womynz soldier that you just happen to run into. Pretty clear woke messaging, just not glaringly obnoxious and in your face like today.

They were planning to include a homo-Kaidan romance but chickened out, or someone said no to it. Killing off some random male soldier for Ashley seems like a choice that was made for the average male audience.

Drown in cringe, my brothers in Christ! With bonus crying at the end:

Sir, sir, are you trying to have fun and be evil, you better heckin' tone that down!

Fuck, this "dialogue" is absolute cringefest

Welcome to the game where you are the NPC who has to adapt to everyone else. Now Rook being so superficial isn't so surprising anymore. This always happens with self-inserts, they're always shielded from harm and critique. Holy shit, did you seriously believe Trick would let you be mean to his pet creation, the token trans party member? Imagine what a precedent that would set.

I really want this to fail but it is Top 3 of Steam Top Seller now

Insane, who are buying this even? I guess BG3 crowd?

It's an EA-owned game with a massive marketing budget right before launch with no competition. I wouldn't be surprised if they hit #2 tomorrow.

Let's see how concurrent players and reviews play out.

I bring you the good stuff. I recorded all sequences from the Qunari non-binary companion, Taash. Spoilers are a given (unless you don't care about her story).

EatAss went to full damage control mode and removed it lol

Safeguarded by Denuvo(tm)!
You can choose an ultra-based, old skool RPG with Denuvo crammed in by a retarded publisher....

...or a Denuvo-less video game equivalent of a university safe room stocked with plush toys, hot chocolate and vegan ice cream.

Discuss!

I'll wait until KCD2 lands on GOG, without DRM and probably at a big discount.
Yeah, but now consider who actually said this line.

Not a chiseled white haired monster hunter.

But a fat drunk subvooorter from Poland.

I'll be playing the Vampire Survivors: Ode to Castlevania after I take my kids treat or treating. Gonna be watching the dumpster fire in between runs. Can't wait.

Vampire Survivors is for homosexuals / veilguardians. Consider playing Halls of Torment.

Decent core game but too fucking slow. At least VS had the sense to add a turbo mode, if I take another run at HoT I'm going to have to use a cheathack.
