Both this guy and vexed ignatio are smart. So smart that at least one of them buys multiple "next-gen" consoles, ends up with 7 pesos and cries about it on the internet.
Truly a smart hombre.

if 1/20 or 1/10 (which is quite possible)
quite possible based on what?
It is based on speculation of course, but let's see for example in Mandate campaign, I'd argue that he single-handedly saved a whole campaign with his support video (published on 20th)

It's not unreasonable to think considering how proportionally smaller the number of backers usually is to buyers, that many of his fans would buy the game based on his recomendation.

Thanks the free games Roguey, but what a shitty atitude you have. You are HAPPY, that Divinity doesn't sell much? Fuck you!
Cargo cult should not be rewarded.

Oh, and you do know that concurrent player numbers don't convert to sales, don't you? DOS could outsold SR, even if not as many people are playing it at the same time as SR.
It does during the first week or so.

As someone who misses the days when 'talking earthworm in a spacesuit' was a commercially viable game idea, I actually wish there were more games that split the difference between 'goat simulator' and 'FO:NV'. Rather than a completely 'straight' goat simulator, add in a skill system and survivalist elements, throw in some platformer mountain sections, allow you to flee and (at higher levels, when you're a badass billy goat with monstrous horns) fight predators and human hunters, 'romances' (no dialogue - you are a goat) where you try to become the alpha goat in the region, prison-breaking domestic goats out of their slavery until you lead a mighty goat army, a stealth system (with shitty unreliable stealth - you are a goat) where you can break into rural houses and raid their kitchen before knocking down and goring the shit out of the householder when he comes after you with a shotgun...
I can see DLC's being furiously coded as we speak..

Even though I am really looking forward to PoE a small part of me hopes that it fails horribly so Roguey can finally shut the fuck up.

PE is the most banal of all, don't fool yourself
Banality is not an issue to most people, considering the popularity of Oblivion and Dragon Age. As Josh says, yes there are a lot of people on the internet who hate elves and dwarves but they're vastly outnumbered by people who really love elves and dwarves.

Yeah I'm sure regardless of the quality it will sell more than all the others combined and negatively influence CRPGs for years to come

If a bunch of devs start taking a cargo cult approach to its interface and systems then that'll be a win for me. :)

Leave it to Obsidian to finally get a chance at making something original and of their own just to see them go "we want inbred engine games audience!"

I think perhaps the best thing about D:OS and Wasteland 2 is how their backwards jankiness is going to make PoE look that much better to the non-grog masses.
If that's going to be the case then we all win, but I still don't understand why it would bother you that a game that a lot of codexers genuenly like (whether it's because we didn't bathe in the light of PoE yet, or because it's actually ok) sales well.

Well, seeing as true "cargo cult" approach would involve imitation without understanding, I'm not so sure you'd be happy with the result.

That you can say this with a straight face... Wel, i hope you are joking.

DarkUnderlord If there is justice Roguey gets some stupid tag or avatar, like me, because his fanboyness is starting to get really annoying.

I think there's a difference between not caring and not showing you care :smug:

Sometimes you never know.
