That happened to me twice in 4 playthroughs of the original game.

I don't remember guards commenting on missing patrols in the original.

Edit: Oh, I guess 'cause it was fairly rare!

Finished it and wrote my review. Because Buck is very busy these days it might take a few for it to appear though.

I will say that I enjoyed this DLC, but it is somewhat unfulfilling, mostly because of the lack of any good conclusion to the story (since it ends in a cliffhanger). The length isn't quite the problem as it's very replayable, but the storytelling is just rather weak period. Dishonored wasn't that great either but I feel like Arkane could have done a better job with it here. Even something as simple as using the Flooded District as a hub for Daud, like the Hound Pits in the original game, would have been nice to see and would have made things feel more coherent. The characters in the DLC also have almost no fleshing out... the most we get is Billie Lurk, whose backstory comes in an info dump journal in the final level. If they had released the whole thing as a $20 add-on all at once I think I would have enjoyed it more, but my guess is it wasn't an option for them.

My thoughts echo sea's, just finished it myself. Took me 7 hours according to Steam but I am super slow in these kinds of games, I basically stalk every enemy and look in every corner.

The third mission being a re-use of a mission in the main game was disappointing. The huge number of enemies and change of light conditions added a lot to that level though, I thought. Missions one and two are the reason to get this though, and hold up as some of the best stuff in the whole game. The story is pretty clearly there just as a reason to add more levels though, but hey gameplay is what matters. Some new items and tougher guards, along with excellent mission design in the first two levels, makes this a winner overall for me.

Looking forward to the next one.

I did it you guys, I DID IT. Got the Headhunter achievement. I am part of the 0.1% :popamole:

(up to 30 hours on dishonored now, only went through the campaign once but i'm still playing that damn dunwall trials dlc)

Trials is very underrated, I had more fun with it than with Knife of Dunwall and the main story.

Grab the Codex by the pussy
I finally got this since it was on sale for $10, or about $15 with the DLC.

I'm expecting great decent things. Don't let me down, Arkane.

Second DLC out today. Reviews say it's really good with large open levels and over 7 hours of game time.

Downloading.

nice! Just finished the first knife of dunwall, which was actually better than the main campaign! This should be good!

The second mission in that new DLC is the biggest so far in Dishonored, and it's top quality IMO. The first mission is basically Cragscleft in Dishonored.

Yeah I wasn't saying that pejoratively. It's a solid mission that lets you revisit a familiar area with added stuff.
That second mission however, it's really fucking great. Probably one of my favorites in the whole game. I've been playing it for 2h30 straight and I'm not even done with it!

Poor Daud, his heart is made of glass, it only took a dead empress to break it apart? While good writing is something hardly required for a stealth game, you can say that Arkane is pretty consistent on the shitty writing department.

I'm playing it on very hard, because thankfully the new DLC is recognizing my KoD save and letting me choose what's probably otherwise locked. However, I think it's too simple in some places. The first mission didn't have enough enemies, and they tended not to notice me at all unless I actually came out and fucked them up head on. I reconfigured an arc pylon and zapped two guys almost immediately, but nobody nearby saw it or heard the noise, and I recall enemies being much more vigilant than that previously. Perhaps the AI is bugged on that level.

I'm halfway or so through the second level, and it's quite a bit better, even though I still think it could use more enemies. The gang war that's going on is very petty looking, and taking out enemies didn't stir up as much trouble as I'd have liked. KoD had more enemy density IIRC, and that worked very much in its favor. However, the level really is large, and traversal works well since by now I think my Blink is much more powerful than in the base game, and many of the buildings are very tall to match. I am about to rape Hatter territory, and that's later on in the level, so I'm hoping the action will escalate.

I think enemy density is lower, you're right. I still loved the entire second area though, great stuff. Some of the best moments are toward the end.

Who the fuck wastes time on this mediocre game? The only thing that would make Dishonored better is a level editor.
