I still wonder whether making the characters visibly older was supposed to be a reference to the fact that 20 years have passed since the game has been released.

Grimdawn or what have you - claiming they are "boring"

Grim Dawn's gameplay is superb and the game's a boatload of fun, but for me at least, what makes it feel boring sometimes is the dreadfully mediocre and uninteresting soundtrack coupled with the, at times, muddy graphics and non-existent atmosphere.

Nailed it. The character building in Grim Dawn is sublime but there are too many minor annoyances that hold the game back. Like the hits lacking a sense of weight which makes the combat feel jank. I also wish the atmosphere was better. The music is infrequent and most of what is there is forgettable. Also, that reoccurring ambient scream in the background irritates the shit out of me.

Actually it is remaster of BOTH original D2 AND LOD. What that means is that you will be able to play original D2 without expansion. So whatever you are LOD fag or Original FAG you will be happy.

It's really great, isn't it? Great move by Blizzard, not only making both versions remastered, but also keeping the old D2 vanilla game for purists and people with extensive modding.

I always hear the same 'you just want your characters to look like supermodels' arguments trotted out with these things. But if we set aside all of the SJW-ism or greater societal context people are citing as the reason the characters look the way they do, and just look at the game in a vacuum... I mean, it's hard to argue that these characters look better than they did before.

Isn't part of the appeal of a Remaster the fact that it's supposed to look graphically better than the original? Isn't critiquing the 'remastered' and 'improved' graphics basically a foregone conclusion since graphical improvements are one of the big 'features' of a remaster? I do not understand these 'you just want wank-bait, incel' arguments- the characters just plainly do not look all that much like their source material, in fact, they all look significantly worse. If they look worse then they're not much of an improvement, are they?

Kinda reminds me of the debacle with Marvel versus Capcom Infinite. There was just as much of a backlash for that game as well because, again, these are iconic characters people have been playing for decades and when an art team suddenly has them hitting every branch of the ugly tree on the way down, people are going to notice:

How about a forty stabwounds, half of which were delivered to already dying victim? Women may lack physical characteristics for a straight fight, but there's no lack of determination and readiness for violence.

It's common for stab victims to die with dozen of wounds though. You don't die rightway from a knife unless a vital organ is hit. If women are overrepresented in those kind of murders i'll chug that down on incompetence and panicking more than extra malice.
