Does anyone know if the 15 hour playthrough quote is about single character playthroughs, or all of the character playthroughs combined?

There aren't separate campaigns, you have one campaign in which you switch between all three characters, kinda like DMC4 one campaign with Nero/Dante.

Some missions you can choose between 2 or 3 of the main characters to play as but the story still follows the same, just that you'll see different characters within those missions (and if you're online, another player in his own game playing as a different character will randomly show up in your game).

The trophy list shows that there is an epilogue of some sort. So the time given is likely the time to beat the entire game.

Yeah the animations are unreal. Very smooth and fluid without any kind of skip. They must've have spent weeks tweaking that shit.

However there's more important things to note in that clip.
Slow the clip's speed down to the minimum and observe the 1-5 second time-frame interval carefully.
The first that can be noted in the 1-2 second interval, is that the enemies attack hitboxes are very precise (Nero's comes inches away from the enemy blade and isn't damaged at all).
But during Nero's attack at the 3-5 second interval, the downed enemy "receives" damage from Nero's sword, 7 frames before it touches him. So Nero's attack hitboxes are not as precise - maybe the devs made the player's hitboxes larger to be a bit lenient, because after all there will be times when we'll be fighting multiple opponents and this helps with the crowd control.
Also during that same interval, if you look really closely to Nero's back, during his attack, you can see a... space distortion? A ghost? Maybe his Stand Devil Trigger?

You can see a skip literally in the first second after the roll. They use object motion blur to cover it up (unless it's just video quality being bad, but I don't think so).

Hopefully NOT like DMC4.

Supposedly there's chapters where you can only play with one specific character (for example missions 1-3 are with Nero then it switches up to V) and others were you can choose which character to use (most be those chapter were the Cameo System is more prevalent, like the image I posted at the beginning of page 15).

Also despite the game being around 15-16 hours long, Capcom reported this is the longest DMC campaign so far.

The anime was always canon but I want to know which books are canon

I played the demo recently 5 times in a row and got an S rank 3rd time.

Game is both beautiful and controls well. The camera doesn't draw out enough in many areas making it difficult to see behind Nero. Lock-on also seems to be dependent on which direction camera faces which can annoyingly target wrong enemies. Other than that everything is else is great. I really like Gerbera & Punch line. They give lots of movement & air control.

You can pull that camera out pretty far in the options menu.

I've been playing around with different button setups some. Had the gun on the right trigger to make charge shots easier, (which I wasn't using as much when it was a face button) moved the lock-on over to the left trigger

Punch Line is the one I'm liking the best of what they give you here, but I'm really liking these Devil Breakers a lot.

You can? Didn't test that, I usually don't change the control schemes for DMC. Changing the gun from square to R2 messed up my timing a bit. I'm unsure how to fully load Nero's pistol without it shoooting after letting go of R2. Sometimes it won't shoot for me other times it will.

Yeah, there's a camera option slider. You won't notice a difference in the starting area, but once you get into the first combat area it kicks in.

With the gun on the right trigger it's a lot easier to hold the gun button down and use your sword and Devil Breaker at the same time. I ended up moving the sword into the X/square spot while it was set up like that.

Just doesn't make much sense how Dante goes from how he was in 3/1 to depressed (in anime and dmc2) to the goofball he is in 4.
Plus the fact he goes to hell at the end of 2.

V gameplay of a previous mission. The Angelo's are called Proto and Scudo Angelo.

Reptile crawlies are called riot.
