Being above the domain limit now disables buildings too.

What this game needs is an expansion or a mod that completely overhauls the combat and conquest mechanics. Paradox keeps insisting on the Sims medieval approach to the game, in the hope it gets them sales trough influencers roleplaying incest characters, but the core mechanics of conquest and war are completely forgotten and broken.

It's still "paradox combat" but Imperator's warfare has elements that are way more interesting than CK3's or EU4's.

Weird they don't think to borrow the line width and tactics stuff at least.

Some people clearly aren't reading my shilling blog posts about making conquest and war cool. You have no one to blame but yourself.

I find Imperator to be their most well designed game at the current time or more accurately the game that is least shitty and moving to the right direction. Unfortunately it's dead since early 2021. Hope the people that were cleaning Johan's mess are put to good use.

If Imperator 2.0 was what they initially put out and we had had a solid 3-4 years of DLC on it it would easily be the best Paradox game. Instead they strangled it in the crib right when there was some hope for it.

Been playing but I bamboozled myself by playing a damn dirty pagan since I love raiding too much, and tribals don't get royal courts so I've got a long while before I get to reforming and changing government and shit. Having an enjoyable time but playing a tribal means practically the only thing the expansion adds is artifacts. Could see being pissed if you paid for the expansion but if you take the approach of buying the base game and then not removing all Paradox DLC everything's peachy. Prolly should've started a game where I'd get to play with the court but I didn't realize tribals couldn't dick with that until I'd already started and I was already having fun, so eh.

My genius wife who adores me and has no negative traits just suddenly decided to go on a murder spree in my court. And shit like that isn't unusual, it happens constantly. Fuck this.

For those with lower end computers,
That's quite impressive to hear. Guess if my video card finally bites it I'll have hope of being able to play CK3 either with integrated video or my crusty laptop. The 8 gigs of RAM is slightly noteworthy too since I managed to get myself up to 16 by cannibalizing a computer that was getting trashed and as it turns out CK3's one of the fattest memory hogs I've noticed thus far. Out of curiosity I'd keep an eye on it while gaming just to see what (If anything) was going over 8 gigs that I'd been playing before and CK3's one of the few that has. The odd part is I wasn't noticing much in the way of smoother gameplay or better performance so whatever it was doing on the hard drive before must not've been too bad.

ALSO, god damn you for having disposable sons. I'm in a crisis right now since I'm rolling non-stop daughters. The run's in danger of ending since my current character's got a million daughters and his heir is his brother who is a similarly aged piece of shit with no sons and the only potential heir after that is a grandson that'll be lucky if he can walk by the time these old farts kick the bucket. Even got my dude a mega-giga-ultra slut of a wife, scooped her up at like 25 with lustful, fornicator, seductress, and beautiful and even with all those fertility bonuses I keep getting daughters.

What's your integrated video? I'm running on a pretty old card, if you got anything like an Iris you would be good. The intel HD 4000 is over ten years old, I suspect any integrated graphics from five years or so would do fairly well. I suspect the processor and the fact my memory is dual-channeled helps.
I wonder if I could do the same with Imperator, have been wanting to play it for some time, but I heard it's badly-optimized.
It helps that CKIII is the best optimized game Pdox ever launched, and apparently it got some performance optimizations since launch, too. Runs better than Stellaris, but then again, Stellaris is an optimization trainwreck.

CKIII is a big memory hog? Honestly I never noticed, when I play CKIII I'm looking at my temps most of the time. How many mods you got on?

Hah, wanna trade?

Having too many sons kind of sucks, my domain is SO going to be cut into pieces.

Have you tried seducing to get a legitimized bastard?
It'd be IntelHD 4600, so a smidge faster. Imperator didn't seem THAT badly optimized when I did a full run of it not that long ago. Did eventually slow down a bit but it wasn't as bad as Stellaris or CK2. 'course I dunno if Imperator's got the mods to help performance like CK3 apparently does either.
Got no mods, and it's not really an unreasonable hog given there's a ton of room but I've seen my memory use get up around 60% while playing it which is still more than most other games without leaving browsers up.

Did manage to get two sons in the very end with that baby machine wife and a full load of concubines but my dude was already in his 60s and died when his sons weren't even 10, so now I'm playing some random dork in a splinter house who ended up with the primary title. Unfortunately it generated a second kingdom title which DID go to the son so I'll probably be launching a subjugation war on him. Usually end up in the too many sons position too which is brutal with shitty tribal succession laws like you mentioned but the game's apparently trying to sink me.

At $30 dollars the DLC is not merely over-priced, it's plain outrageous. Especially considering how lazy it is, with tribals left out of getting a court for no good reason in terms of history or realism. Is this paradox's new strategy to 'force' people to start using their stupid subscription service?
