On the internet, writing shit posts.
I only really know Laura Bailey.
She voiced Alex Denton in Deus Ex: Invisible War and Rayne from Bloodrayne.
Oh and Serana...
She was also in Sunset overdrive. She's like Troy Baker, she's basically everywhere.
They probably got her on for her minor celebrity and nerd cred. Kind of like getting Felicia Day involved.

I had no idea what critical role is.

So I did some googling and found one of my favourite 2010-ish porn stars talking about GMing tips.

Small world.

Yeah this was this weird clique of Porn stars who did TTRPG lets plays for a while. It ended predictably after the man behind the thing was Metoo'ed. If you know the OSR than you might know of Zak Sabbath, who is a bell end for a multitude of reasons to be honest. He probably did rape those porn stars.

We might soon need a "the CRITICAL ROLE crowd" on GD :mixedemotions:
The people who like Critical Role are loathsome parasites or "secondaries" as my younger children like to call them. They watch DnD and other games. But refuse to participate in anything other than what they see on the web. I am happy to be the old man yelling at a cloud here and anywhere else they may be discussed. Because these gobshites deserve it.
When I was in college and really into PnP I'd always be conciliatory to people that fucked around because, "It's just a game, man! Don't take it so seriously, man!" This is despite the fact that I'd spend hours writing campaign shit.

Finally, after having what was meant to be a multi-session arc, get smashed to pieces in a matter of hours by relentless murderhobos, I stopped trying to write anything. I realized at that point that PnP isn't **just** a game, it's a hobby like model trains, and like model trains, having a 5-year-old come in and fuck it all up with a box of crayons and a Thomas-the-Tank-Engine toy is upsetting.

Most people who romanticize PnP view it like a game of Monopoly or "Adult Make Believe". The moment it stops being a board game is when most people bow out.

It's why I no longer really do PnP, refuse to GM for newbies and only play occassionally with a group I know appreciate the hobby.

As an aside, fuck this "it's fantasy so I'll be as depraved as I want" attitude. I spectated an all-female game once gm'd by a friend and her gal-pals. That shit was weird, man. The level of deranged, genocidal murderhoboing mixed with emotional, self-projection, against the GM's wishes, made it hard to watch. I told my friend her group was part of why she was having mental troubles and recommended she find a new coping method for her traumas.

Nu-PnP players are a sick, psychotic bunch.

Do you have any specific examples of what they were doing? An all-female tabletop session must be a rare sight seen by very few male eyes. I can't imagine what kind of woman is weird enough to play PnP.

The big one was the party getting into an argument over whether it was ethical to flood a village of 3000+ Kobolds who happened to be in their way. The GM intended for them to broker peace and request safe passage, but the party face pulled the "Kobolds are evil" card and got the group on her side.

The most absurd part was afterwards the players were all going on about their special snowflake PCs and their particular traumas or oppressions- leading to actual ingame oppression olympics arguments.

Homegirls- ya'll just murdered 3000 people who did nothing to you. You then proceeded to justify by saying the people in question are intrinsically evil by virtue of their race. You are the absolute last group to be talking about tyranny and oppression.

One of the girls also made a point of having her PC be a victim of rape- which absolutely did not sit well with the GM and her personal issues.

A lot of women here in LA are big into PnP, several local game stores are owned by women and have "girls nights". It's not that uncommon.

Unfortunately, neckbeard women are no more sophsticated or mentally stable than neckbeard men. They are every bit as weird, smelly and anti-social as the men.

I remember here in the Codex someone posted alleged transcriptions from plays (with funny codenames such as El Disgusto, and someone who was always a ninja for some reason), but they turned out to be somewhat funny but highly awkward to read. Turns out reality is not that different.
Also, in theory it's technically okay to kill evil beings without provocation in DnD (but it won't sit well with many people, obviously), although flooding a village might be excessive, especially if there are third parties here.

A Paladin will not just barge into a tavern and start slaughtering everyone in it just because they register as Evil on his Detect Evil radar.
He will carefully observe the laws of the land he finds himself in. He might break a law or two(with much reluctance, obviously) in order to get to the greater evil(say, a Tanar'ri).
Are you familiar with the "Powder Keg of Justice"? Good stuff.
A Paladin does not have to always play nice...

I found the village flooding excessively silly, and the GM herself was appalled, but in context it's not beyond what my players do in my games sometimes.

What got me was the moralizing. I've never had a group I GM'd have the balls to kill 3000 NPCs and then wax philosophical about personal hardships afterwards. It would make a fantastic satire if it didn't actually happen.

Never heard of that one. I wasn't thinking of a paladin of course, these have to have in mind the law. But what about a hardcore cleric with Detect Evil? Would Frank Castle with Detect Evil be considered evil if he slaughtered any evil-doer he came across?
Is an orc an automatic target even if it is not doing anything yet?
And so on.

Evil in the context of D&D alignments is just being selfish which can range from not sharing your food to outright killing people. If a person that doesn't share his food does that warrant him being put to death by a paladin or even a cleric?

My personal favorite when it comes to unhinged womens roleplaying is the time a woman played a character that was the rape child of Elrond the half elf.

I think it's a bit more complex than that. Evil in DnD is also related to sociopathy, casual acts of cruelty and so on. In that particular example, some hardcore clerics would consider killing, if not punishing said evil-doer so that he doesn't do worse things in the future.
Related to that: Would it be considered an evil act to use magic to turn someone's Alignment to Good?
