I already have the key to the temple in the swamps. I'm talking the locked door in the cave near sailor's retreat, the one where you find a dead demon in the middle of a large pentagram.
Yeah, but this door is part of an ARG. Key is to the right of the chamber with the demon.

Im starting another playthrough already in chapter 2 you can actually clean up Kurts hut after the kidnaping using a broom and find the water circle ring (so Jorn was a member this is why some npcs from Londram you meet say he was meeting strange people in strange places) and the gold Kurt says was stolen.
I didn't know that one. I'm still in CH2, but right near the end and sweeping does nothing. Where did you find it exactly?

Also, I cannot begin to tell you how much better guard quests are. Seriously, if you plan to play once guard is the superior choice.

Anyone else getting low fps from time to time? I have models and textures set to max, but range of view is set to 120% and object fading to 140%. Game installed on an SSD, 12 GB RAM, Radeon R7 200, i7-2600. Game is smooth most of the time but I'm getting pretty annoying drops mostly in the city and other busy areas. I haven't installed any of the usual G2 fixes because mod is standalone and I'm not sure which have been incorporated already. I know DX11 hasn't but I'm also not sure if it will actually improve fps. Would highly appreciate any advice.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
Honestly, I'm surprised there are so few indie game studios making Gothic-like games. All ingrediants are there: current lvl of technology is high, cheap and easy to learn, HD Gothic lvl of graphics with good art style are financially cheap (DO NOT make games in EU, make them in Balkans/Eastern Europe), ease of publishing on Steam etc... It's really a missed oportunity, especially with time gap between Skyrim 1 and Skyrim 2 being INSANE 10+ years, to not capitalize on STARRRRVING audience

So starving that they pay full price for Skyrim+:Fishing Edition after ten years. One of best selling games in 2021.
This mod has already "sold" around 300,000 copies on all its various platforms, with peak simultaneous players on steam alone passing 10k in the first week. This kind of thing is obviously exactly what a lot of gamers want, the problem is I really doubt anyone with decision-making power is ever going to listen.

Fun fact: it had more concurrent players than the new Battlefield in its first week

I notice brief pauses for what may be cell loads. Try DX11. Install is very easy. I've may have read that sometimes new cards don't handle old DX instructions very well.
Is the Gothic engine multi core/over 4GB aware?

My troll fighting skills are suboptimal! Can't be cheesed like in Gothic 2 I think. What's your favorite non-magic strat against them?

Just dodge back when his fist is about to connect -> two (or three if your timing is on point assuming at least 30% skill animations) side attacks -> repeat. Dodging back works on them like it does on any other creature. You can also fit in a lot more attacks when he's busy slowly moving to the side from time to time. They're extremaly easy to fight in melee.

I have a problem with a quest in Chapter I. I'm in the village, and I want to help Ezekiel the merchant, one of the new arrivals, bury his daughter. I talked to the village wizard, cleaned the graveyard, paid money to buy a spot, and now I'm supposed to go back to Ezekiel and tell him to talk to the wizard. Only Ezekiel is no longer in the tavern where he used to be, and I can't find him anywhere in the village. Where is he?

At daytime he is in the upper room of the tavern in night time he comes downstairs to drink himself to death.

He's usually sitting in a comfy chair in the upper floor of the tavern. He sometimes comes downstairs and stands near the entrance. Have you checked both spots?

I'll try that tomorrow, thanks!

Check the graveyard, he should be sitting there over her grave.

This is how it’s been from the beginning, what do you mean “can actually”?

Here's a video demonstration.

I like how through many chapters of game you can see how Archolos starts to rot, refugees crawling on the streets, sometimes begging sometimes mugging, in II chapter Matey has to suffer long lines of lazy leeches but in V chapter he just gives up and barricades himself, at first only city was full of outlanders ( besides our group at silbach) but later whole island is full of lazy, homeless hordes and at the end everything is endangered by orkroaches.

Yeah that's a nice touch. I just had an event like that, in chapter 4. A female farm worker on the outskirts of Silbach was assaulted by 3 rapefugees. She had a battered kind of appearance, with a black eye.

Roderich is an insufferable stuck up prick, though. I can not understand how can anybody stand him for more than 5 seconds. On the other hand, Lorenzo is an adorable jew, I would beat him up on the daily basis if he wasn't immortal. Not because I hate him or anything, it's just something that he desperately needs.

You can just go further inside the cave and shoot him with a crossbow. He can't follow you there.
Do crossbows work on trolls? They're immune to all ranged in vanilla. Couldn't even dent one with the 65 dmg red bow and 75 DEX. Does the armor piercing bonus on crossbows change that?

If so, STR/DEX hybrid with just enough STR to use crossbows and rest to DEX may be superior to bows even for a dedicated ranged build.

I know this is pretty old but:

LP costs for learning magic circles are just insane:

1st circle - 20 points
2nd circle - 30 points
3rd circle - 40 points
4th circle - 50 points

What the actual fuck is this?!
Why is that insane exactly? Compare this to weapon skill costs:

from 10% to 30%: 20 points
from 30% to 60%: 60 points
from 60% to 90%: 90 points
from 90% to 100%: 40 points

That's 210 points total. Maybe as low as 170 if you end up using a weapon that gives a +10 bonus. Total cost of all circles is 140 and there's no rune crafting so you can dump rest in mana just like weapon users would dump into STR and/or DEX. Seems to me like pure mages have it a lot cheaper in terms of LPs.

I thought I'd hate Lorenzo but he actually seemed like a pretty decent guy. Also surprisingly principled for the head of a trade organisation. End game spoilers regarding him/merchant guild.

Lorenzo refuses to work with Volker at the end and is killed for his troubles, despite being offered a very lucrative position in Volker's new regime.

He also supports Marvin throughout despite his guild trackers being pretty useless at actually finding your brother. He treats Marvin with respect throughout and promises you high position before his death.

Re: Roderich

Spineless cuck that sends you to the valley of mines despite the great service you've done the city/island. Muh political pressure.

Lorenzo can survive if you send Javad to the city in CH3
