You people weren't joking about getting way more money in 2.0. It's not normal to pay off Vik's debt fifteen minutes in.

The money curve has a strange hump in the middle levels where stuff gets expensive around the time a lot of chrome options open up. Other than that point, it's not a meaningful element of the world, as is tradition in most RPGs.

Honestly, at this point I'm surprised devs still use money as a plot point. That shit practically never works* and in most contexts, trading favours is a much better narrative hook.

*I'd still be fine with payments being an option during quest resolution, but only if it's tied to a stat - 10 charm and a couple grand gives you the same outcome 15 charm would.

From a storyfag perspective the new epilogue is well-done, nuanced and unique and hits the right beats. I liked the last twist in the Song Mi path before you make your final choice. And the tie-in to Mr. Blue Eyes.

From the same storyfag perspective, the characters' arcs are disjointed and rushed. With Jackie, Evelyn, Judy, Panam, Johnny and Kerry there was time to go through their things during their side missions so it was more natural. The DLC characters don't have appearances that could help establish their character arcs fully.

Talking about Reed's and Alex's history is more like an infodump than character backstory or development. You have meeting Alex off-mission that's meant to humanize her, but it's too tacked-on due to not having spent time fleshing out the character. With Reed, around the time when he figures out what his final objective should be (his sense of loyalty taking over) -- he doesn't behave like a human changes demeanors but more like a robot that had a switch flipped inside him. With Song Mi, her whole backstory is dumped on you with no time to analyze it in cutscenes or even touch on the motif in the game world and new quests. I guess we're meant to feel sorry for a sad Asian girl, but it's not enough.

Driving with Idris Elba to the soundtrack of Miles Davis on the radio was a classy move, I'll give them that.

The game's city actually has better atmosphere if you disable all road car traffic via the .ini file.

Ok finished the game again. Did the glowie ending just to see what the fuck happens and decided to go with the Don't Fear the Reaper after I saw everything.

So the game indeed improved, but if anyone was expecting an actual overhaul? I laugh hard this game still the under delivered game from 2020, now its just functional with less T Posing.
Night City is gorgeous visually and fun to navigate through, but honestly I'd sacrifice all of it with a RPG with more Depth.

Yeah besides Reed ending, I didn't felt that Phantom Liberty added too much for the main story.
Also Songbird more like Cuckbird if you somehow decided to pick her ending?

Champion level double-entendre:

How is this a double entendre? I must be missing something
The game is fixed. -- Means the game is rigged.

The game is fixed. -- Means CP2077 has been repaired and works now.
He means my quoted screenshot is explicit, the opposite of double entendre.
Ah thanks. The weirdness of pics sometimes just showing as file links.

Wait, so Alex and Reed were both stuck in Dogtown yet they never met, not even once, in 7 years?

Is the expansion worth aggravating my negro fatigue?

I watched the trailer and it's just full of black people. It's bad enough that the base game has that one Wakanda area and the octaroon love interest.
