If they turned Marathon into extraction looter-shooter does that mean the upcoming MOBA will be called "Myth"?

Everyone who has even a passing interest towards this game should definitely watch this talk. Bungie is actively trying to avoid making good games, because that sets up expectations that live services cannot meet. Not exaggerating a single bit.

I can't tell if "frog-type game" is nonsense added there on purpose for publicity, or they mean the new game will let you move seamlessly between two modes, like an amphibian can move in the water and in the ground.

I'm not making a new thread just to ask this, but did anyone check out the real Marathon successor? I kind of want to play it myself but I'm keeping it p. deep into my backlog unless there's a recommendation from someone who isn't a youtuber since I'm pretty busy and had too many fanproject letdowns already. That one youtuber, Bongolore or Mandragore, whatever, tricked me into playing Black Parade and it wasn't very good. Fool me once and all that.

Have you played other Marathon fan missions?

About 15 years ago I played a lot of them, I did play both Rubicon and Eternal that were also called real Marathon successors. Good times...

the "Bungie is hiring" at the end really sells it, like the audience will hear that the company makes mass-produced government-funded demoralization propaganda and be like "Sign me up!"

We're at the sweet spot for "I grew up with Halo, I've always wanted to work at Bungie" college kids right now. If only they knew the truth..

What's the best way to play the original Marathons on PC or Steam deck?

Have they fixed the issue where you have to end a level to get into the menus and change the settings? Which is a problem, because the mouse sensitivity really needs to be adjusted for the game to be playable. I'm saying this as someone who likes the game.

Nah. Game throws you out. Save first and then adjust your settings.

Apotheosis X music is Incline. Its very good and also a lot more spooky than i expected. The length is a lie tho, dev said 8-12 but its more like 4-5. Its about as big as the ion fury dlc.

40 bucks
https://thegamepost.com/bungie-marathon-targeting-40-launch-price/

According to several sources familiar with the project, Bungie appears to be targeting a $40 price tag for Marathon, opting for a pay-to-play premium model rather than following the free-to-play model seen in many modern shooters.
The Game Post understands that it’s likely that discussions between Bungie and Sony have taken place around Marathon’s pricing strategy after the disastrous launch of Sony’s latest live-service game Concord, which also launched at $40 but was shut down just two weeks later.

However, sources confirm that a $40 price point was definitely in the cards.
However, multiple sources have confirmed to The Game Post that Marathon is not “hero-focused” which is what many seem to believe. The “heroes” in Marathon are classes, each with its own set of abilities (along with a “special” ability), and very different playstyle compared to others.
The core gameplay structure is pretty similar to games like Escape from Tarkov but with a “Bungie twist,” according to one source. Currently, two maps are in a playable state: one set on the planet in an abandoned colony, and the other aboard the Marathon ship. It’s unclear, however, if these will be the only maps at launch or if Bungie plans to include more.

The "bungie twist" is that you expect something good but it's shit, right?
