So how far behind schedule is this again? A year? Two years?
I think part 2 was supposed to be released May of last year.

So that's after the initial delays.

I wouldn't even care if the game was actually good though, but alas.

Tim Schaefer fans are so gullible. They are the kind of people that you probably could sell the Golden Gate Bridge to.

They are probably the same people who are also willing to fund a $375,000 kickstarter for a 2d game when they could be supporting the adventure game genre by buying games like Resonance, the Blackwell Chronicels, Deponia, Gray Matter, and the Sherlock Holmes series.

The Resonance Kickstarter, when it started was asking for $150. And that's 10 times better than Broken Age.

Instead of supporting "indie" games, Kickstarter, has become a vehicle to ask for exorbitant amounts of money for "indie" games.
With a few exceptions, the games being funded on Kickstarter shouldn't even be considered indie games. If the budget is over $100,000, it probably ain't an indie game.

The reason no one was funding Schaefer from the established companies is because they know his track record is shit.

At this point, the Tim Schaefer fans aren't defending him for any logical reason.
At this point, they are defending him, because THEY don't want to look bad for funding this trainwreck.
This is for THEIR egos and their desire to say that they support "indie" games.

I noticed that the documentary for Broken Age has also stopped being updated. The last update was JULY of LAST YEAR.

And please stop defending Schaefer because he has "artistic" sensibilities and needs to be coddled to develop his dreams and visions.

No, screw that.

You don't even know who he writes his name LOL. And you are an idiot newfag. We are gullible because we funded Broken Age instead of buying indie games? Guess what we buy the indie games, AND we funded Broken Age because it promised an oldschool game.

The dev making it already had a game, that's why he only asked so little. He is also a one man dev, not a studio, so he can ask for 150 bucks. He is not making ends meet with game development.

Who cares if they are not considered indie?

Stop emberassing yourself and leave the Codex. The last update was in January, October before it.

People who trust Schafer are just the same as those who trust Molyneux or Herve.

So they basically kickstarted Massive Chalice to finish Broken Age and then put Grim Fandango on Steam to finish funding Massive Chalice, right?

Marvelous.

The real question is what happens then... no way Broken Age - Act 2 sales will be enough to fund another game. They'll do yet another kickstarter?

@JC, you just proved my point.
You are defending Schaefer's lame ass because you are afraid to admit that if Schaefer screwed up, it would also mean that you screwed up by backing him.
I really don't think I am embarrassing myself. I made a mistake in the number updates but at least I didn't throw money at Schaefer to make an adventure game for preschoolers.
And now you are trying to dismiss me with ad hominem attacks because your ego can't handle the fact that Schaefer is a shitty developer and you backed a shitty developer.

Broken Age alone? No. But Massive Chalice is right around the corner and it looks pretty good (not by Codex standards obviously), that could do allright.

That ship sailed, the game's already on Early Access, plus it 31k copies to Kickstarter Backers.

Going out of EA won't suddenly give it 500k new sales. Not will releasing the second act of Broken Age result in huge sales, since people who bought Act 1 already get it.

Yeah, they got the resources from the aborted DotT remake that LucasArts was working on before they shut down.

I'll say - it's never a dull day in the Adventure Game business, is it?
