The Wheel of Fate is turning: Rebel I

Amazing we've made it this far.

01.jpg

Semi finals gonna take place in one of the best eye-candy arena ever. Very hyped.

02.jpg

Knights winning the coin toss - choosing to receive to utilize Zara's stabbing quickly.

Here's my offensive formation.
03.jpg

I think it's quite straight-forward. Zara should be priority blitzer. But not left on her own devices. Her stakes skill basically renders the whole enemy squad into AV 7s and 6s. We won't bother wasting a stab on a thrall - we'll go straight for those ST5 Vampires while the rest of the team get to work on the thralls. And for the first time ever, Knights starts a drive with no zero-skilled Linemen.

04.jpg

05.jpg

06.jpg

Good landing spot. The loss of the Kicker thrall makes him take caution on the kick - hence it went center and not too far back.

07.jpg

First move, always, always Zara. Unless she has to dodge. A move with serious consequence upon success and nothing much when failed. She stabs Longinus, the ST5 AG5 Vampire!

08.jpg

To no effect! :( It's ok, we'll try again later. We rolled (1 + 5) +1 = 7 vs 9+ It's close.

Best not to leave Zara isolated, they will hit her first. So I send her help in form of Jasede's boyfriend and eklektyk.
09.jpg

Now let's mow that LOS.

10.jpg

KO by Whitewolf.

11.jpg

Another KO by Gondolin!

12.jpg

Brother None only scores a stun. What a loser. Anyways, the center is wide open. We're going in.

13.jpg

The thing about Vampire team is that they have above average ST & AG but standard MA6 (Thanks Darth Roxor) with this knowledge in mind, we should split these guys up by creating multiple scoring threat while Xenomorph uses distance as armor.

14.jpg

For this reason, I gave Azira Sure Feet to ensure he's at least MA9 near guaranteed when needed.

15.jpg

I went for 2 GFI - no reroll needed.

16.jpg

stabby too, made the forward step with no issue.

17.jpg

Xeno gets the ball, goes beyond 2 GFI distance by nearest Vamp...

18.jpg

Ends the turn well out of harm's way.

Who can resist the Hypnotic Gaze of the Pros?

For some reason the Vamps think I want an early touchdown and went to mark both receivers. This is false. I will never, ever touchdown on Turn 2 when I have 2 thrall down advantage on the field. So those catchers should've been blitzed to death.

Instead, they decided not to waste the blitz and stare the catchers to death.

01.jpg

Hypnotic Gaze, a Vampire trademark - basically rolls vs AG to mesmerize your opponent. What happens is that the enemy is bone-headed, losing their tackle zones completely. The only way to recover is for them to make a move next turn or be knocked down. They cannot catch a pass when under the effects as well.

When the Blitz sound came up I thought stabby's time is up...
02.jpg

But instead...

03.jpg

They went after Whitewolf - and only got a push. I chose not to stand firm. Didn't want to get in blocking range. We want a hands off approach.

For some reason, the Insatiables' coach thinks the same too, and pulls back his Vampire after the blitz.

04.jpg

And sends a second Vampire to gaze at stabby's Canadian crotch!

05.jpg

It's pretty gay.

I would've at least prioritized killing Zara if I were the Vamps.

06.jpg

Looks like they need to burn a reroll early. For some reason, this Vampire forgo Block as first pick - and did not elect to use Pro.

07.jpg

And that's how eklektyk survived an assault from a ST5 Vampire who only managed double push on the second try. The blood of trolls flow through him.

Still no hits on Zara, they went after the Ogre with no block. (Why? I don't know)
08.jpg

vindicated.jpg

Wow. Nuffle, I love you. He used his Pro, however...and...

09.jpg

surprise.jpg

Got a down. Oh well, at least the big guy's unharmed. Turn over.

Pardon the pun.

10.jpg

zara.jpg

11.jpg

vindicated.jpg

Regeneration failed. Badly hurt. He's out of the game. Unless.

12.jpg

He burned apothecary to save his ST5/AG5 Vamp. I'd...hmm. I'm not sure. Team size 12 is too small IMO. He's basically running with 8 vs 11 now.

Wait, my bad. Not after his move...

13.jpg

Whitewolf blitzes!

14.jpg

First push! And...

15.jpg

Out of the pitch on the second frenzy block! KO! It's 7 v 11!

16.jpg

To remove the derp from these two catchers, we either risk a dodge or punch our way out. You have to take an active action if you want to shake off the gaze effect. You can move, foul, block, etc. It is always successful.

But first let's get Xeno to safety.

17.jpg

Then we can do this.

18.jpg

It took three ST3 assists just to get two block die for Azira. At least he has Block.

19.jpg

surprise.jpg

Burned a reroll. Got two pushes. Oh well.

Time for stabby to get the fuck out.

20.jpg

Dodges out safely.

21.jpg

I end my turn.

For some reason I'm not feeling the pressure in this game. Zara really cleared the pitch so well. And the Insatiables armor is failing them so badly. But let's see what they'll do next!

01.jpg

OK, moving a thrall upwards.... not sure why.

02.jpg

Lone Vampire, trying to pressure Xenomorph into making an early pass. It's only turn 3.

03.jpg

When the blitz sounded off, I expected it to go for Zara, again. But nope.

04.jpg

eklektyk stunned. I guess he wanted to lower our Guard count.

Gondolin gets punched next to a double-thrall combo.
05.jpg

Down, but not out. They're trying to mark our receivers - one of the vamps came close to Brother None, tried his Hypnotic Gaze but it wouldn't work.

06.jpg

Good thing about Gaze is it doesn't punish you for failure. Now they have to go for an honest block on None...

07.jpg

Nothing going. The Vampires end their turn without achieving anything more than a stun.

So ... what do we do?

08.jpg

zara.jpg

09.jpg

vindicated.jpg

I am in awe.

10.jpg

Xenomorph is practically safe.

11.jpg

Jasede's boyfriend flirts with the Vampire.

While Whitewolf pulls up to assist the receivers in fending off these annoyances.

12.jpg

13.jpg

Azira gets a down.

14.jpg

Brother None gets a stun.

15.jpg

Jaedar only manages a push.

16.jpg

As turn 3 ends there are 11 Knights vs 6 Insatiables on the field. I still cannot believe it.

Things are going too well

Insatiables' turn. Looks like a thrall is making a move towards Zara. Finally.

01.jpg

This could be a good move or a bad move depending if he takes her down or not. Cause it's a free stab.

02.jpg

And if I want to hit something else, Zara has dodge. You don't have to worry about her loner trait.

Blitz alarm sounded and...
03.jpg

Yeah, that's the right move. Stunned her too. Now I'm forced to play without her for a turn.

With the limited amount of players though, the Insatiables are just trying their best to knock down as many as possible with 2D blocks.
04.jpg

Gondolin gets taken down, but no injury as their turn ends.

Let's move big guy here...
05.jpg

And get some a blitz here...
06.jpg

07.jpg

First block was a push, frenzy 2nd was both downs. At least we can try again with Brother None.

08.jpg

Target down, but not out. I try to get Azira free of his marker, but no dice. Both down meant the lone thrall is still standing.

09.jpg

Oh well. We need to make a pass to get the ball safe.

10.jpg

Gave it to eklektyk as the turn ends.

11.jpg

In a hindsight, it wasn't a bright move - but I was ... literally too happy with how the game is going.

Bare their Fangs

Insatiables make their move.

01.jpg

My fears were proven true.

02.jpg

I kinda mispositioned Jaedar, he was supposed to cover eklektyk. Live and learn.

03.jpg

Vampires sensing they probably need to cover the ball more - decided to... cover it. Dodged out - and not try a GFI to pick it up.

04.jpg

:hmmm:

This move confused me a bit. AG 4 Pick up is really good without a tackle zone in effect but he chose not to risk a turnover. The other downed vampire got up and re-enter tackle zone with the Knights.

05.jpg

They try to bash Whitewolf - but he stood firm.

06.jpg

Turn over.

07.jpg

Gonna use Azira to free his two friends.

08.jpg

Good - now let's rock!

09.jpg

Gondolin gets a push.

10.jpg

Need more people on the ball.

11.jpg

Whitewolf could not take the Vampire down. But the ball bounces from the pushed Vampire and...

12.jpg

Nobody gets it.

Let's call in the Blitz.
13.jpg

14.jpg

Bleh. Nothing good out of it.

Called the Ogre block - and didn't get what I wanted - ended with a push that puts the thrall on Xeno's tackle zone. That's... not what I wanted.
15.jpg

16.jpg

Well...fuck it. +4 to pick up seems fine. Let's go.

17.jpg

See? We're fine. We're completely fine.
Was gonna risk a throw to clear it out of danger...

18.jpg

But ran out of time.

19.jpg

Ah well, still good. That's all the update I can squeeze this morning. I gotta start work.

Blink - and it's gone.

We're back. It's the Insatiables turn now. They lack the manpower but they can still try something.

Thrall takes a chance and dodges out of the Ogre tackle zone.
01.jpg

Incoming Blitz!

02.jpg

03.jpg

Fuck. Why?!

There's more bullshit in store - watch that Vampire next to Whitewolf...
04.jpg

05.jpg

Dodges out twice into Tackle zone and picks up the ball at -2. :retarded:
But that's not enough folks...

06.jpg

07.jpg

He makes FIVE dodges in a row.
And for the final fuck you, he pulls the last Vampire off the line to form a mini wall cage around the ball carrier.

08.jpg

09.jpg

I'm glad they only have 6 MA.

Take it back!

Our turn!

01.jpg

A good start.

02.jpg

zara.jpg

03.jpg

And fails to achieve anything.
Fuck. I...I made the wrong move. Should've went for a 2D block instead!

Gondolin stuns a thrall.
04.jpg

I'm not panicking just yet. We wasted a blitz in this turn, but the Vampires aren't speedy enough to escape easily. Gotta protect Azira a bit...

05.jpg

And send more men to surround the ball.

06.jpg

And yeah, 1d Block - scores an opponent stumble.
07.jpg

Another thrall KO'ed. Turn ends as the Insatiables start their turn with just 5 players.

08.jpg

Vamps want to break out, pushing Jaedar out of the way.

09.jpg

10.jpg

The ball escapes again!

11.jpg

Who the fuck is this guy?

12.jpg

Ah, 5 AG Vampire. No wonder.

He tries to dodge out his last Vampire, but ends up getting stunned on the way out.

13.jpg

About fucking time. The chase is on once more.

Operation Stop that Motherfucker

Get him!

01.jpg

Ogre broke his bone-head status!

02.jpg

Clearing the tangles up wards - thrall downed, Vampire pushed next to Zara.

03.jpg

04.jpg

Yeah, eat it. Eat that stake.

And you're all alone now, sucker.

05.jpg

This has got to work.
06.jpg

Wait, wait, let's not burn 7 MA... I don't wanna fuck up my GFI.

07.jpg

Yeah, let's go!

08.jpg

Only a push on the first one! FRENZY GIVES ANOTHER SHOT, COME ON!

09.jpg

Fuck's sake! REROLL!

10.jpg

...by the Ahura Mazda.

11.jpg

This guy.. just won't fall.

13.jpg

We surround this Twilight faggot and hope for the best on the next turn.

When You Succeeded in Failing...

Of course, AG5 Dodge into no TZ = only 1 will stop him.
01.jpg

02.jpg

Dodged twice even.

03.jpg

Thrall blitzes...

04.jpg

Stuns Gondolin.

05.jpg

Marks Azira as turn ends.

I had enough of this. C'mon. Do your job!

06.jpg

07.jpg

YES THAT'S IT!

08.jpg

:what:

....eklektyk catches it. Ending any possible ball play in this drive. And it's Turn 8. Our final half turn.
We...couldn't score in the first half with 2 to 1 man advantage.

Fuck it. Priority is to get everyone safe and 100% ready for second half. 0-0 with half of Vampire team KO is a good start.

09.jpg

10.jpg

Azira only gets a push.

11.jpg

Hmm... 5 KOs... a foul is worth it.

12.jpg

Brother None only scores a stun with a +1 foul assist on a thrall. Turn ends.

13.jpg

He hasn't given up on scoring? Dodges out and blitzes eklektyk - who dropped the ball and...

14.jpg

Ogre puts and end to that play by critically catching the loose ball. Thank god. But it's not over!

15.jpg

Dodges out a vampire to get an assist...

16.jpg

And thrall... KOs Xenomorph! Fuck.

17.jpg

18.jpg

Thrilling 0-0 Half Time.... as Knights failed to score with absolutely manpower advantage... and the ball finishing closer to the Insatiable's scoring end. The fuck just happened? God knows.

I wanna see your pussy too, but then I got high.

State of the Insatiables bench:
01.jpg

1 Vamp and 2 KO thralls coming back. Also the ST5 AG5 Vampire Lord is back in play.

This is my kick off setup.

02.jpg

I thought we're going for a short kick bash up ... but decided the Vampire's 6 MA is probably going to suffer if we give them a long one...

So long it is.

03.jpg

04.jpg

Good thing I didn't kick short. If not they'd cage so easily.

05.jpg

Good ol' kick.

Ogre gets bashed. Still alive, but down.
06.jpg

Files in thrall wall on the right side. OK, I know where they wanna go now.

07.jpg

Jaedar gets attacked. And survived with Dodge.

08.jpg

09.jpg

They're still blitzing him though - I'm not even sure why. Shouldn't they like.... bash Zara?

10.jpg

11.jpg

Oh well.

Other vamps start moving and failing their Bloodlust checks - but Pro saves a reroll on this one.

12.jpg

13.jpg

Not sure what the Gaze is for. Guess cut the Guard on next turn?

Their sure hands thrall does its work.

14.jpg

15.jpg

Ummm... failed another Blood roll. Burns a reroll, 3 out of 4 left.

16.jpg

End of turn.

The Citizen Kane Moment of Stabbing
So, do you want to take a guess on what is my first move?

01.jpg

zara.jpg

02.jpg

03.jpg

ST5 AG5 KO'ed. Again. She was too much for him.

Another thing I like about human is speedy guardsmen.

04.jpg

Normal roll blitzers have ST access. MA 7 Guardsmen are rare in the game. And I grew to love them for it. I slotted in both Gondolin and None next to the ball carrier.

Ogre gets up just fine.. Jaedar will do so as well.

05.jpg

Stabby is going to make a long trip.

06.jpg

07.jpg

Makes it with no reroll required.

I made a bad 1dice block with Angelo85.

08.jpg

Ends with a push, but I forgot about Fend, that makes him unable to follow up the push.

09.jpg

Decided to wake up Lund and do a 1d block as well.

10.jpg

Got a push. Gets in the TZ. Good stuff.

As the turn ends this is the state of the pitch.
11.jpg

As you can see, the Vampires are restricted to play in one flank. Score is 0-0 so they must try to delay the TD as long as possible. But with MA6 they have to keep moving the ball forward. I was hoping they'll just use the vampire to dodge out - leaving the thralls behind to be bashed to bits.

Let's see how they play it out next turn!

I saw. I came.

Insatiables, starting with a 2d block on Gondolin.

01.jpg

Seems unhappy with the result, calls for a reroll -

02.jpg

Gets it. Stunning the Blitzer.

A quick handover - and...

03.jpg

04.jpg

Trying to move the ball forward. It's a pity, you still need 2 turns to finish the score.
Slips out another Vampire...
05.jpg

While the other punches..and injures LundB!

06.jpg

07.jpg

Damn, he has guard. I don't wanna lose a Guard on the final. Calling in the apothecary.

08.jpg

For fuck's sake. Whatever.
Turn ends as Xenomorph gets pushed around.

09.jpg

Our turn!

10.jpg

If we wanna attack the ball, we gotta do it now.
Brother None pushes the thrall aside, freeing stabby.

11.jpg

Whitewolf only manages a push on the first try vs a thrall...

12.jpg

But scores a down on the second!

13.jpg

Should I?

14.jpg

Kinda risky. Players at the south end isn't that great either.

15.jpg

Fuck it, she has dodge.

zara.jpg

16.jpg

17.jpg

Look at her go!

18.jpg

:kfc:

19.jpg

Goddamn, that's just fucking ruthless. Let's get the ball !

20.jpg

stabby, gonna make a long trip for an assist!

21.jpg

Just enough to get a three dice block for the Ogre~!

22.jpg

Stuns!

It's a waste if we don't try to go for the ball now!
23.jpg

Xenomorph dodges -

24.jpg

No problem!

25.jpg

And it's ours!

Catching my breath, letting it go ~

They have to come to us now.

01.jpg

02.jpg

03.jpg

They're throwing everything at us for that 2D block!

04.jpg

But only manages a push!

05.jpg

Hah, we're good. Their turn ends.

06.jpg

Zara, let's go!

07.jpg

Meh. Nothing this time.
Call in the big guns~

08.jpg

Good that frees Jaedar.

Gondolin gets up and assists Brother None.

10.jpg

Let's move! Handover to Jaedar, who is unmarked!

11.jpg

And he's off!

12.jpg

13.jpg

More marking, gotta slow those MA 6 dudes down.
Stabby dodges out.

14.jpg

Brother None gets a push out of 2d Block.

15.jpg

Same for Angelo85

16.jpg

Turn ends. Can Knights escape with the ball?

17.jpg

Ho ho ho. Burns a reroll. Their last reroll. It's only turn 12. :smug:

18.jpg

Only gets a push.
This forces another block on Xenomorph...

19.jpg

Got downed this time, no injury. Phew.
Another block-

20.jpg

Woot. There goes eklektyk, but the Vampire failed his bloodlust...
He has to finish his move next to a thrall to feel.

21.jpg

And stuns his thrall in doing so.
Here comes his last move.

22.jpg

Not this time.

01.jpg

Dang, Zara is starting to lose her touch, failing a second stab on the same thrall.
It's fine. Let's bash.

02.jpg

Wow. Stabby just did the Canadian Crotch Buster. That guy just had a groin strain.

03.jpg

Jaedar's free to run. But first-

04.jpg

Let's clear a path!

05.jpg

Fuck-tastic. Let's go~!

06.jpg

Setting up road block with the ogre.

07.jpg

Brother None gets in there too with MA7.

08.jpg

Angelo85 finishes the turn with a stun.

09.jpg

We're so gud it hurts.

No one can hold me back

Count Dracula dodges upon waking up. These guys are just trying to play catch-up with MA6 now.

10.jpg

With just 6 players on the field, I doubt they can do much.

11.jpg

OK. Fine. You can gaze at his crotch all day.

12.jpg

Fuck, I hate it. It's like they're trying to injure Xenomorph.

13.jpg

Yeah, keep trying to catch up...
Fuckers are just dodging without fear now.

14.jpg

Turn ends. None of the vampires is within tackle range of the ball carrier.

15.jpg

Also at this point, I felt like handing the ball over to Gondolin who has 13 out of 16 SPP needed for leveling. But decided not to gamble on the handover. It's semi-final. If it's pre-season, I'd do it. We need a 1-0.

16.jpg

And that's that. They can't touch Jaedar next turn. Ever.
We can attack without fear.

17.jpg

18.jpg

Just a block. Meh.
More road block please.

19.jpg

20.jpg

Push, good enough. Next to Zara is unsafe. Hehehe.

21.jpg

22.jpg

Yeah right. It won't come to that.
