If you are playing someone other than Wyll, and you help the goblins kill the thieflings, I think Wyll will abandon your party. Can someone else confirm?
Karlach and Wyll leave the party. You need to pass a check for Gale I think or he might leave too. Maybe approval prior plays a role it seems it does play a role for lae'zel quest and how she reacts in the inquisitor encounter (ie letting you make the decision instead of her or telling you straight up she'll fight you if you go against her)

I think I will stick to Wyll anyway just to see how bad he is, at least I'll have some good quality companions left for the Evil playthrough

Lae'zel and Astarion don't mind Minthara right?
As far as evil durge playthough I actually don't know how it pans out. During my current good durge run lae'zel makes it pretty she clear she wont stand for chaos, so I am not sure how an 'indulging in the urge' run would go with her. She's pretty much written as lawful evil so idk how she'd mash with CE playthrough which evil durge pretty much is.

She's She-Hulk written like in that recent awful Marvel TV show, aka the worst version of She-Hulk
i kind of enjoyed her in a1, then she became non existent/boring in a2.
Right now she is more like a puppy?

Annoying, as she is the reason I didnt join gobos, now i cant wait for evil playthrough.

Her character is the paladin quest in Act I, and the Gortash quest in Act III. Some minor lines in regards to demons/devils when you meet them. That's it, I think.

Alright the Attunement Challenge spreadsheet is completed:

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1CUbaVvoF2HpOeHmjmCcJs_rHTTmG8MM_IkqLT886OHI/edit?usp=sharing

The Attunement Challenge
  • Each item in the game has an attunement value.
  • This is a measure of how powerful the item is.
  • When you add up all the points for each item you have attuned to, you get your character's attunement total.
  • Your character's attunement total signifies how challenging the game will be.
  • Any item that has an attunement value of 0 can be equipped and unequipped at will.
  • Any item that has a value of 1 or more cannot be used unless you have 'attuned' to it while resting at camp.
  • You are allowed to equip and unequip attuned items at will.
  • Elixirs and other consumables are usable with no restrictions.
  • Bonuses obtained from quests and other similar activities are usable with no restrictions.
So for example my Swords Bard build which uses a ton of powerful items has an attunement score of 20

id need to first see good attunement implementation to see if i like this system or not. In solasta, depending on scenario, you either dont care as there are not enough items requiring attunement or... dont care because you are swimming in magical items anyway.
As such it ends up being annoying minigame, not really force you to plan your character around it/limit potential.

What do you mean, implementation? It's an opt-in fun challenge for players, not an in-game mechanic.

It most definitely will limit your character's potential if you set the attunement limit low, I guarantee that. Like, that's the whole point. Going into the endgame with enough magical items to conquer the entire world is not very fun when all the game throws at you is a couple of mooks with 300 HP each and no particularly tricky defenses.

If you get a kick out of measuring your character's dick against Gortash's face for the 15th time in a row that's cool, personally I am hoping to preserve some kind of challenge at endgame.

It may not even work tbh, some of the builds this game has are so fucking OP they only need like 1-2 items to dominate. But at least with this system they might have some weaknesses, such as low AC or whatever.

I have this nagging feeling that they planned wyll as the standard choice for normie origin. Only one who is strictly heroic and good, albeit with an antihero angle(warlock pact).

Then they ruined it by making him black.

He is also exclusive with Karlach. If one person in a co-op game picks Wyll, the other can't be Karlach.
This probably will also be a deal breaker for normies, but additionally, it means if you want to be a "good party" in multiplayer, you can only pick 1 of the two unambiguously good origins.

I will be honest - I would be interested in playing him myself if he were white.

Every single line of his screams "white dude". Why make him a negro?

PROVOKE THE BLADE AND SUFFER ITS STING

I imagine this guy saying this. Not some one-eyed negro with cornrow hair:

Wyll would be improved by making his soul darker, not his skin whiter.
If you need a flamboyant bard companion, petition to have Volo recruitable into the party.

An important pointer to Durge players I wasn't aware of(not sure if really a spoiler - but spoiler tagged it anyway):

Casting 6th level "heal" spell on the durge restores some of his memories - a special cutscene plays out.

Also that initial camp scene where he tries to remember his past has different narrator lines depending on your class and race. Quite a nice touch

Helpful information: It's very difficult to play as a sword-and-board human male fighter, because the game literally doesn't contain any good longswords. They're all trash.
Complete nonsense.
Longswords specifically... I think that the best one is probably the "Sword of the Emperor" which you get partway through Act III, but it's a lackluster +2 that simply gives you a bonus to certain (admittedly important) saving throws. Compared to many other weapon types, longswords are completely lackluster in BG3.

They even turned Balduran's sword, which was a longsword in the second game, into a greatsword. :negative:
