The only real "pander[ing] to woke-ism" I've seen is the "identity" thing in char creation, which seems to amusingly have no effect on the game whatsoever.

I'll tell you what I don't like though. Everything feels like it's written by porn addicted creeps. There's this "priest of pain" who wants to hit me. Okay, I'll do it, to get the blessing of the Goddess of Pain.

Porn obsession is a subproduct of wokeism, since the woke movement was astroturfed into relevancy to make people too focused on sexuality to protest for better work and life conditions. Therefore it is inaccurate to call Chungus's Gate 3 a woke game, as it is merely a creation of minds shaped by wokeism.

When did I ever call Dragon Age superior? I've said many times that BG3 and DA are the same fucking thing. It's hardly praise if you actually paid any attention.

Come on, BG3 is nowhere near as bad as Dragon Age. Turn-based vs shitty RTWP alone is enough to make BG3 leagues better, but on top of that basically everything about it outclasses Generic Age.

The Dragon Age influence shows up in the writing sometimes and the camp dialogue, which is pretty universally poor from what I've played so far, but the actual game itself is light years ahead of DA:O.

- 5 edition i something I play first here and so far it seems great. Never liked insane micromanagement of 3.5 ed feats and this feels more like 2nd edition but with bunch more skills than just few or none on fighter.

5th edition feels like 2nd edition in all the bad ways, like having less character building options, but it does not feels like 2nd edition in good ways, like having complex spell system.

Something I used to do if I was bored with the combat and just want things to move along I would turn game difficulty down lower and play the game like a pseudo action RPG (like diablo) and just have my party hack through all the trash mobs.

yup turn based turns what should be a simple 10-second goblin beatdown into some prolonged 5 minute battle after all the animations
but then the devs can slap "800+ hours of content!" on the box

Took me about 5 minutes to FIND A FEMALE CHARACTER, and even that is dubious, at first I chose a female and couldn't figure out why am I still a male until I finally found you have to choose body type as A (but not B, C, D) as well. What the fuck? EA had normal genders

I had to start over because APPARENTLY YOU ALSO HAVE TO SEPARATELY CHOOSE FEMALE VOICE. My sexy Drow mistress had a fucking deep male voice and you can only change it in character creation.

Man, I'm at work, so I can't check, but I might be actually using that voice? Is that the last one, or was it 8? I'm using the last female one. The others didn't really seem to fit a bad bitch Drow.

I liked NWN2 voices for PCs the most out of all games, I think.

I checked this now and yes, 8 is the most fitting for drow. But this 4th, what I use for my high elf warlock, is also fitting.

Same way BG protagonist goes from a Level 40 canonical god to an Abdel Adrian jobber who dies randomly as a mook NPC for a low level 5e campaign.

The "story" of Faerun after 2e is objectively the worst part of BG3 & and the setting in general. It's been retconned so many times not even the people writing it take it seriously.

Larian clearly loves splash damage options and barrel nonsense, but those have been greatly reduced compared to the DOS games.

Also you don't have that dual armor system idiocy, and less painting of surfaces. Enemies are also less tanky.

But it's also a low-level adventure, so prepare for most of your initial combat to just seeing "Miss!" messages.
