The faces are alright; it's everything else that's the problem. Of the 6 images, 4 have ridiculous stuff on their hair/head, 3 have ridiculous hair color, 2 have inappropriate eye colors, and at least 4 have ridiculous facial paint/tattoos.

That's the point I guess. From what I remember the god who gave you its features is unknown but connected to what's happening in the area which is similar to "parasitic fungus that's slowly taking over..." living things.

Its their convenient choice to make it THE FUNGUS GOD so NPCs can comment on player's rainbow colored features.
