The game really started out good, but I felt I missed a good amount of content in the first town, and can't quite figure out how to get it. There has to be more than what I got my two playthroughs of it. Like the mayor - everyone pointed to him for work, but after you fix the water thing he has nothing. Or is there more and I need higher skills to get? You'd figure he'd hint at it. Also, the weapons dealer has zero weapons for sale. I do my usually save/reload spam to steal everything I can't hold everything or sell back in a way that helps me. I did get a bunch of recipes from some guy so that helped get my inventory down. I left the first town and I'm not finding much and the inventory restrictions is really making exploration kind of self-defeating.

Is there a good way to store shit?
Is time a big factor at all? Can I store shit somewhere and not care about wasting time going back to it often?
I get a good amount of quests from the first city but can only complete two while there, is that right?

I don't want to look at a walkthrough or know about a walkthrough as usually once I find information from one it gets easier to go back instead of figuring shit out on your own. Getting these couple questions answered at the start will help me figure out if I am going about the whole thing wrong or worrying about shit I don't have to or can drastically change my build since pickpocketing nets me a lot of shit I can't use, carry, or need and I have a lot of money and nothing to spend it on.

The mayor has a quest to
find a snitch that is working with the bandits at the the Abandoned Factory. After that he sends you to infiltrate the bandits.

Also, the guy you mentioned is not the mayor, he's the second in command. The mayor is in the house near the gate you enter into town for the first time.

Been playing for three hours or so and i'm enjoying it so far.

Asked this multiple times on different forums and I never got an answer.

How does the game calculate damage? Somehow I'm doing more damage than the max damage of my gun. SKS has a max damage of 19 or 21 but sometimes I'm hitting enemies for 25+.

You're mixing up NPC's with ''Mayor'', the one who asks you to fix the water pump does not have any other quest in store for you.
People referring to the ''Mayor'', are referring to the old guy, former official, in the building near the entrance (where you can find the town's vault).

Yes, the game is time dependent on a couple quests. They all involve NPC dying out if you don't act in time.
So far I found:
- The dying man at the factory > need to convince Oltradnoye medic to halp
- The dying man at the 'Moonshiners' you need to convince him to stop drinking Diesel (lol).
- Killing the wolf pack at the roaring forest in order to prevent the old hunter to die

And I suspect
- Go to the pond near Oltradnoye, at night, to prevent the execution of a guy
- Treating the sleeping guy at KP3

Thank you for the response on time. Would I be correct in assuming the timers starts once you get the quest? Does it let you know some how it is time sensitive? And besides the time quests does time not matter so I can stockpile shit somewhere and go back to it at my leisure without worry?

Edit - I must have missed the mayor somehow. I usually steal everything then talk. I had issues with my first couple buildings because I couldn't figure out stealth and was focusing on how to steal shit in the open.

Yes, apart from those couple quests, time does not matter. But their timer goes off as the game starts. I would venture a guess, I would say you've got roughly an ingame month to take care of them (which is a cumfortable timetable if you know what you're doing).

Jenkem when you start the game, your mission is to find out your contact in KP3. Said contact being a companion.

Commissar Draco you can find him near Fidel's tavern, that would be on the outskirt, but he might have a time schedule. He is a bummer asking for $$.

So does anyone knows what happened to the girl and the stash guy, also the "gay"? I just returned after the elections and there was a fight with a Shishlic or what his name is,after that those people were missing. Any idea, did i miss something.

Also a hint: Do the meat stand quest before doing the political struggle for power.

Comrades do you know where to find the third vet to interview the Navigator? He is supposed to be drunk but he is not in local bar nor in any outskirt houses.
In front of the tavern asking for money during the night. During the day he sleeps and you can't interact with him. Did anyone find out what the "cursed" dude in one of the houses is connected to? It feels like a quest.

Do you mean the lovecraftian dude that dreams of eldritch cities? There's a diary on a coffee table near him, that should kickstart you enough.

Yes I see an issue. Distinctions are bad, don't pick them.
Take a look at your sequence.
shooting gallery fan is pretty good

edit: the main issue with a sniper build is probably finding ammo

Yeah, ammo seems very scarce early game, but you do seem to find a lot more of it later.

7.62x39mm seems to become quite common later, enemies often carry full 30 round mags of it. Conveniently, there are a couple of 7.62x39mm weapons that are classed as rifle/shotgun rather than the full auto category.

Anyone managed to get the guys at Peregon's BBQ?

When I recite the lines, they get up and leave. No "official" inspection ever finds anything wrong with them, so the only way I can see of solving it is to let them go, or kill them all (but getting all of Peregon set against me).
Tried standing besides it at night, but I don't hear any sounds ever while checking, and I do have a high ATTN attribute.

Are you saying that there is snipers in the game??? All weapons do kind of the same damage as pistol, but use more AP.

Yes
You have to tell them that the cook needs more meat, then they leave the map and you can enter. You shouldn't talk to the bosses about checking the place, also it will be better if you do this quest before doing the local political struggle.

If you fucked up,you could try killing the cook with the console.
