Seems really well optimized, running quite well at all high on my potato PC. Never played an Armored Core game before, I imagine I'm in for some learning. Kinda disappointed that it seems to be shorter than your average From Souls game, even if you plan to get best grades on every mission, also surprised its getting so little traction on the Codex.

Oh well, I just did a test run of it, everything seems to look/work/sound awesome, tomorrow is the day folks.

The SP is built around NG+ and alternate routes/endings.

Mileage varies from person to person. My first playthrough is going to end up being just a little shorter than a Souls game. But yeah, the game has a ton of NG+ potential, to the point where I don't think you can really consider having finished the game as intended until you play it through at least a second time. Good thing the gameplay is so insanely good and addictive, most people aren't going to want to put it down for long after the first time through it.

Yeah the starting AC rifle sucks for just about anything that isn't a MT. The more frustrating thing is when the helicopter sometimes flies out of the maps boundaries and you can't keep pressuring it because of the redline.

So far I think Balteus is the greater filter.

This boss was a joke, if you can't even beat this shit you are playing the wrong game. You are even given the right set-up for it.

You say that, but it feels very gimmicky and wrong in a mecha game to hard force strategy. And if you don't have the right parts you gotta restart. Atleast if the parts were slightly less viable than almost completely un-viable it would have been easier to swallow. Instead equip the right parts and most of it becomes a near cakewalk, equip the wrong ones and you are gonna feel like you are trying to break a brick with a toothpick. I like the game and the hard lock on is kind of needed for these garbage that run around the screen, but from what I've played so far I would put this game in the mid tier of AC than top tier.

Ideally if the mission briefings atleast hint at the right tools for the job it would be a overall better experience. Instead now for the people who replay the game it's gonna be a good experience cause they already know what's needed, and for the new ones it's gonna be a frustrating one as they struggle to adapt and get fucked making the "wrong" choices.

I, in fact, beat this boss with my hands closed and my eyes behind my back. Is it just me or is this game way too easy?
I kicked its ass so hard, the boss' files deleted themselves out of the game directory.

?

You switch around builds to deal with enemies with strong shields or big laser windups, or etc etc. Switching weapons to deal with enemy shields is extremely mecha. Like a few thousand episodes of mecha anime filler. You should be happy they actually went lenient on types here, there’s definitely retarded tank builds possible you’d have to rely on carpet bomb AoE to deal with.

You said it was wrong to hard force strategy buddy. The game shits out free checkpoints right before 95% of bosses and it doesn’t even really penalize or even rank you until you beat it once. I’ve been playing dual handguns and I only needed to switch to melee for the snek, it’s not From’s fault people’s ego gets hurt

That is such a garbage trial and error solution. It also restores all the healing you used, beyond rubbish. It's downright pathetic that there is no hardcore mode, they can call the game hardcore and shit, then they pussy out where hard decisions need to be made. The one size fits all difficulty solution is only good when they implement it with conviction. I really hope Miyazaki directs the next armored core, honestly besides him nobody at From has any balls to go through with their convictions.

All I can say is gee, who knew how many hardcore AC fans existed to clutch pearls over bosses in AC6. Here I thought it was an omega obscure mech console series played by bored people on a ps2 emulator!

What is that "miyazaki does it again" thread tag about? Who's responsible for that?

Can't hotlink for some reason but the video is from my channel.

Anyways I haven't gotten much time to play. Car is going to shit and I'm arguing with the landlord. Bad week for me. The controls and movement feel amazing. That's all I can say right now.

Completed first 3-4 missions.

I'm loving it. Movement and shooting feel excellent. Game-play wise, its something completely different from anything I've ever played. While movement feels excellent, I still cant wrap my head around navigating obstacles and surroundings, and much less read interface. I was expect something more Souls like, and I cant, for the life of me, make myself simultaneously tap/press R1 and R2. Oh well, practice makes perfect, and I'm sure I'll wrap my head around it sooner or later.

Performance wise, it works amazingly. I have a gtx 1060 6gb and only 8 gb of ram... and everything works flawlessly in 1080p/60fps, with every single option set to high. Pleasantly surprised. The game sometimes crashes during menus, but thats prolly from my alt tabbing. I'd say it has something to do with my (by modern standards) potato-tier PC, but considering how flawlessly the actual game is running, I'll dare say it will be fixed in next couple of patches. Plot wise, I couldnt help but lol. Its a From game, of course theres some sort of mystic, life-giving flame, that got extinguished because of bad, bad men, with many, many ontological connotations undoubtedly soon to follow. Still, the plot model seems most fitting for my tastes of the modern (Demon Souls+) From games.

All in all, I'm really enjoying it and looking forward to playing it more. The single regret I have is that I havent played any older AC games - I will surely give them a try after this, but I'm scared they are going to feel like a pure downgrade. Here's to hoping it aint true. I also wonder how multiplayer in VI is, I heard many older ACs were multiplayer focused.
