just wondering about a couple of things..

1. do you own the game Arcanum?
2. if yes, the warez version, or original? (be honest)
3. is arcanum currently installed on your computer?
4. would it be a waste of time to make an arcanum mod?
5. how many of you would play an arcanum mod?

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
1. Yes.
2. I'm guilty of having copied it from a friend
3. From the moment I first installed it, it never vanished from my computer.
4. Seeing as the engine is shitty and it's a fucking chore to mod the game [look it up in some other thread here in the Codex, maybe someone can provide the link, I'm too lazy to do so right now]... well, I guess there are better games to make a mod for.
5. Arcanum is my all-favourite RPG, right after Planescape Torment, and I played through it at least 5 times. Yes, I would definitely play an Arcanum mod.

1. Yes.
2. Original.
3. No, but it takes about 3 minutes to reinstall.
4. I need more information about your life to estimate the value of your time.
5. I'd play an Arcanum mod, but can't guarantee I'll enjoy it.

1. Yes
2. Pirated it. The game has never been released here. However, I'm filling the gaps in my collection by buying games from eBay.
3. Certainly.
4. I think the idea has some potentional, mainly because of the character creation system.
5. I would.

EDIT: Forgot to type a word. What's wrong with me?

1. Yes.
2. Original.
3. No. But I did just recently reformat.
4. Probably. I heard it's a pain in the ass to work with and few will probably play it.
5. I would.

4. I'd exchange my grandmother for an Arcanum mod of good quality. The potential audience for the mod would be rather small, however, so in that sense no, it isn't worth doing.
5. I for one. Arcanum is my favorite RPG.

could be a sequel, could be a prequel, could be an expansion, or even a revision.
it all depends of how many people would play it..for example if not that many people are gonna bother playing ill probably make a revision though i'd love to make a sequel but i don't want to waste my time making a mod no one will play.

basically i want closure that at the very least 100 people will play it.

1. Yes.
2. Both, a complete original release and two pirated discs as back-up.
3. On two, my desktop and my laptop.
4. I don't know.
5. That would depend on the mod's content and its quality. But I probably would.

1. Yes
2. Original
3. Not installed
4. Its a waste of time if it is a bad mod
5. I don't think I'll ever play Arcanum again

I played a mod with new and rebalanced spells. I then changed the parameters of spells and weapons, mostly to make ranged weapons more powerful.

1. Yes.
2. I think I have a warezed version somewhere, but I own 3 original copies: in Polish, English, and German.
3. No.
4. Yes.
5. I'd gladly play a good mod.

But have you even tried to create something using the WorldEd? Like, making a building with proper corners etc?

1. Sure.
2. Something nobody is going to believe me: Bought the original, lost it somehow, and downloaded a copy. Seriously, I have no idea where the game went....
3. No. I'm a space-saver. I don't currently play it, so it is not on my PC.
4. Depends on the mod.
5. I did.... that magic mod was fun :)

You would be better off doing a mod for NWN 2. That way you will at least get some recognition. I said what everyone is thinking.

1. Yes.
2. Original. The fluff/backstory part of the manual is awesome, reread it from time to time.
3. No, but I'd reinstall it for a mod.
4. I'm with the 'it seems to be a pain in the ass to mod'.
5. Sure I'd love to see more stuff in the arcanum universe.

Currently the original, but when I first played it, it was pirated.

It depends, if it's just another dungeon, I won't, but I'll play balance fixes, bugfixes, and new quests (That aren't dungeon hacks).

Hey cool. You only asked those questions to get those inevitable "I'd play an arcanum mod but nobody is going to make one anyway" answers.

Anyways, here are my answers.

1. Yes.
2. Original.
3. Yup.
4. If its total shit, then yea. If its a well planned out mod, made specifically with arcanum in mind then no.
5. If it shows promise I'd play it, definitely.

Edit: Hope its sorta serious. Looks a bit spinoffy, a bit Fallout 2, if ya get me.

Haha, I'm down with the montague and capulet line you got going.

I dig it, I'd play it.

what, the murder children part? that's the quest for diablo to join your group. and don't worry, it is serious. for example the dungeon master gives you the option to play as a female halfling or gnome.

Screenshots look good enough. Go on making the mod, you already seem to know how to use the modding tool well. Looks promising so far, I'll most probably play it when you finish it.

EDIT: ooooooh that chargen screen looks wonderful

Yups.
2. if yes, the warez version, or original? (be honest)
Both. I take backups of all my games.
3. is arcanum currently installed on your computer?
Nope.
4. would it be a waste of time to make an arcanum mod?
If you're not modding for the joy of modding, you probably shouldn't bother.
5. how many of you would play an arcanum mod?
I probably will some day, if there are any.

thanks. You get to have either Tybalt or Mercutio as followers (it depends on your choice of family loyalty.)

might as well list other things im changing...

1. all mountain passes are available from the start of the game. This makes all (or most) of arcanum visitable at all times.
2. the mod will include the dialog fixes from the T-A download page, as well as the option to have the orc barbarians and molochean hand encounters scaled (the dungeon master offers it as a choice)
3. SPOILER ---------------------> the creatures and people of the void have been made a LOT stronger. this is most apparent in kerghan who is no longer a human punching bag.
4. SPOILER ---------------------> the game will continue even after finishing the main quest. if you return and destroy arcanum with kerghan you play around in an arcanum module where the only other NPC's are random tribes around arcanum. can't be arsed to do the same thing for other endings though.
