Based on this article, keeping text chat out serves no purpose. CVAA compliance should be about adding communication features not removing them.

"If I drop text chat and just go with voice chat instead, does that mean I no longer have to think about text to speech?

No. People who rely on text to speech still must be able to navigate to and operate the voice chat functionality and people who can’t hear or speak still need to be able to send text messages to the voice chat service. Realistically text to speech is going to be required for both things."

Yeah they don't have chat because of some obscure law that passed this week. 4 years in development btw.
it passed 9 years ago
You can't be serious.
There is an actual law that prevents multiplayer games from having a text chat if that text chat doesn't also feature text-to-speech?

I mean, sure, tts is extremely easy to implement, but still... I have trouble believing this is for real.

But what If I am blind, mute, and deaf? How could I play games Murica? How?

Having a computer read the words is not the hard problem.

Here's some people gleefully shilling their consultancies while pretending compliance is not onerous to explain in more detail:

Out of all things Murica can do, this is one of the most dumb shit ever.

What next, mandatory Braille in your milk cartoon?

Game had a big downgrade too, it looked decent on the initial promo videos but most videos I seen on the demo, there was a big downgrade on the quality of the textures, lighting and animation, so far, Destiny 2 looks better.

People are saying that the writing on the game is on Mass Effect Andromeda levels of bad as most NPCs tend to be edgy and say cool one liners all the time but as the writers suck, that doesn't work at all, the dialog is mostly juvenile or really awkward.

Hey guys, check out this video,it have some inside info about the expectations. The info it self begins at 10:40.

More or less if the game doesn't sell 10 millions in two weeks they will fuck biowaste sideways.

Gameplay looks substantially worse than Mass Effect ( 3 or Andromeda, depends of preference). ME3 Multiplayer was leagues ahead of it, in number of builds and options.

Flying looks "cool", but enemies can't keep up with it and ends up more as get away card. ME had a better sense of feedback with shooting, visual effects were more satisfying/much more clean, short range weapons more useful, enemies more interesting to fight ( with more satisfying deaths/"emote" more), level design ( while not great) more important.

This looks closer to TPS version of Dragon's Dogma: spam flashy abilities every 2 sec at overbloated healthbars.

I agree with you,for its shit andromeda did had pretty good shooting. This one is pretty mediocre compared to it,but major part of it seems to be because of how shit the level design is. From what i have seen everything have the feel of empty corridors. The shooting looks like a fucking console port.

One thing I'm not prone to believe from this video is that stuff about the 10-year plan. There are no ten year plans for support in this industry, outside of PR talk. Even if there is a 3-4 year plan, this will be re-evaluated at every year quarter, and every year.

What do you mean "you don't believe" they did market it in such a way a year or two ago. Nobody in their right mind expect it to be for real tho.

What I mean, my dense friend, is that this is PR talk, not a promise that anyone in the company is actually committed to. It doesn't matter what source the video is citing, it's a company-made statement either way. The video guy didn't make it up.

Does anyone else think Anthem might be set in the Andromeda galaxy of Mass Effect? I bring it up because the Anthem/Shapers stuff in the demo seem pretty similar to the Vault/Jardaan stuff from Mass Effect. Both involve terraforming by a long-gone race with technology far superior to humans. Like maybe this is a planet that the Jardaan abandoned or lost interest with due to the Scourge or their infighting. Somehow humans (in the future of ME: Andromeda) stumble upon one of the worlds the Jardaan tampered with and for whatever reason lost contact with the Initiative. Centuries pass and humans kind of forget how they got on the planet or why they came to the planet. One hole in the theory is that there are no friendly alien species apparently in the game. However, that is not too hard to explain away. Maybe Bioware is saving alien races as a big reveal or maybe this was a human only colony for whatever reason. Alternatively, Bioware could just be recycling concepts.

Its just lazy writing and BioWare recycling assets.
They are doing this for 20y now.
Those maps looks like taken from Inquisition only with added flying.

Obviously the talk of a 10 year plan is not about their own potential investment, it's about player investment.

They want people buying it early so they can 'get ahead' and hope they'll spend money on cosmetics, justifying it because they'll be using these for the next 10 years. If anyone playing thinks for a second that the game might die or they'll have to re-buy anything in sequels then that drastically kills that mentality and EA can't have that.

It's pretty simple, Anthem doesn't do enough for EA to bother supporting it and Bioware and they move on from the game, cashing in on initial purchases and 12 months worth of whales. I have no doubt with these sorts of games that they develop everything including the content, remove a good chunk that they'll then add into the game over 12 months so they can claim "live service" which gets people continuing to buy under the illusion they'll carry on from the game.

There's nothing to suggest this game will be a hit. There's already been a few PR disasters, it's not an existing IP like Fallout so they won't get away with it under that and above all else there's no hidden gem here, it's just a mediocre, by the numbers game that looks like it was designed by a check all boxes committee and not anyone looking to push the genre forward. Looking forward to Bioware being done after this and EA announcing Mass Effect Mobile at next years E3.

It is really stupid thing to do. Some people getting the game earlier it just means some people bitching about it earlier and thus loosing sales. Also a lot of people will just watch streamers play the game and 10 days later will be over it and not buy the game. This just fucks up that opening week rush.
