Admit it: You are going to buy Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim.

Will you buy skyrim when it comes out?

If you replace swords with guns in Diablo II you get a top down shooter.

Diablo with guns... like Crusader: No Remorse but with MP and phat l00t. I'd come buckets.

No, sir. Space Siege is what I'll provide as example.

It did not turn out well.

And, funny thing... You seems to be very serious about playing your role play in Oblivion (totally unlike me) – so I ask you same question DraQ ask me – why not try some “proper” RPG with "proper" statistics and everything...? Ha!

When a game has a fucked up mechaninc, I just try to live with it so the game is playable.

All the difficulties I mentioned could be easily circumvented by visiting some dungeons at higher levels and acquiring better stuff the moment it's available, or by choosing favorite skills as Minors so my character ends up stronger. I avoid doing that because playing at 50% efficiency ends up being more fun and challenging. You could call that roleplaying, I guess.

About playing other, more "proper" games...well, as I said, I don't really consider OB to be a rpg, but an action-rpg (which I consider a fancier form of H&S), so it does the job if I can deal with the level scaling. When I'm feeling like playing an actual rpg, there's nothing keeping me from that. I usually play through several games at once, focusing on one / playing the same good ones over and over makes me get bored quick.

CorpseZeb, I actually love the way you write. Not making fun of you! It's just so... Eastern. It makes me feel as if I were in Siberia.

Kraszu – well – you have a choice – C&C or sandbox – freewill or strong story. Because strong story excludes my freewill, my choice of action. Yes, it means sandbox world are often dull because its up to you to fill it, to create own world of meaning. And yes, if story is very good I don't mind if game steal my freewill, but... how many games you now with mind-job-blowing good story?

Actually choices lets you use your will. In G3 you can choose who to help, and there are consequences to that. I wish for a game that builds on G3, having open world with a real conflict (with strategic AI deciding on the next move on each side) where your choices influences it. I don't complain about lack of story in the Oblivion sandbox style game, but in how dull and meaningless any of your manipulation of the sand are.
A sandbox with no sand, most toys stolen and most of the rest broken.

Butthurt detected.

I just checked and November 11 falls on a Friday. I'll be in school when Skyrim is released but I should be able to dedicate a good chunk of my weekend to it. :yeah:

Am going to acquire the game. Sad as it might be. :(

Edit: Just read the thread up to the Melissan meltdown. Classy shit all around.

I'm going to pirate it or gamefly it. Since I have a fairly low end PC, modern games end up looking even worse than on consoles.

I enjoyed Morrowind until I became too powerful within the gameworld, so I'm hoping that Skryim will be somewhere between Oblivion and Morrowind in quality.

I loved Arena and after that I couldn't wait for Daggerfall. Man, was that game an ambitious but flawed gem. Got Morrowind the moment it came out and was, well, disappointed. Very disappointed. Watched a roommate play Oblivion and decided not even to bother. Tried it recently with what others had deemed the must have mods. It was still utter crap. If Skyrim is good, sure I'll get it. After the last two Elder Scrolls games however, I really don't think it will be.
My experience was very different. I started with Morrowind and it just consumed my life. I think I played it for more than a year, exploring and always discovering something new. I couldn't wait for Oblivion, but the gameworld was smaller and I was a bit disappointed. Still, not a bad game though. I downloaded Daggerfall but it didn't run on my computer, although judging by the videos I didn't miss much.

Who is this dumbfuck. GTFO

Also no i wont be fucking buying or downloading this shit

I'll torrent it. This is gonna be fucking funny - after I read last interviews - it will be better than any comedy ever created in human history (but I don't think it's going to beat Oblivion in that matter - but who knows - these guys are unbelievable!).

You could just read a well done LP of it and save your bandwidth for more important things like porn.

I'd rather watch DriacKin LP Skyrim rather than play it. I loved his Fallout 3 LP ("Explosion!") so I hope he will do the honorable thing and sacr..I mean volunteer his time for those of us who don't have the time/equipment/money/are playing other RPGs that are actually RPGs.

Not sure... I think Elzair did an uncomparable Oblivion LP so he's my first pick. Then again he should just carry on with the Ultima LP, so maybe DriacKin should get it. And Jimbob, who did an awesome, awesome job with the DLC and Shivering Isles, would do the Skyrim DLC and expansion.

Also, is this the semi-notorious Melissan thread or do I have to keep digging? On which page is the DRAMA?
