Ain’t she and her brother just a couple of race traitors? I mean sure, it’s their parents that made the decision to immigrate, but going to army, hating Huana and taking pride in killing them - that’s entirely on her. For me, she always seemed liked that British spy Mahatma Gandhi, and he was pretty evil.
I’d call her a jannisar, but they were enslaved and brainwashed, she had a choice though.
Not just, no.

She and Tekehu come to an understanding if you play your cards right.

Nips weren't and Chinks aren't traitors for wanting to suck less.
Nips and Chinks aren’t traitors indeed, because they wanted to suck less in order to stop sucking “white man’s” dick. Maia and her brother want to suck “blue man’s dick” and turn their homeland into colony of their overlords. But I guess their parents are more to blame for allowing their kids to be re-educated
Nice to know!

I never 'liked' Tekehu myself, tbh. Yeah, I've missed a lot, it seems.

Anyway, I remember Maia being pretty staunch in relation to anything Huana, for that matter. And it did seem odd. I don’t recall if the game explained the particular reason, but in the real world, it could’ve been because of some trauma in her past—or maybe the classic trope: “My parents and culture are backward peasants who don’t understand the world, they bottle up relationship-tension, and I just wanted to get away."
The RDC wanting expansion, trade, and profit while the Huana—who only recently started accepting the idea of tolerance—could’ve naturally caused a lot of tension, too.
Tolerance is a kludge.

the idea is cool (a paladin order that's basically Waffen SS)
Waffen SS weren't cool, they were hopped up on meth.

Bleak Walkers are probably the best mechanically since Sworn Enemy needed the boost, but the opposing dialogue options are annoying to play around.

Played a bit of Pillows 2, this time soloing not as a Psion but as a Mindstalker, Psion/Trickster. OMG, soloing stuff with thieves abilities is so easier. Cipher still my favorite class but I'm liking more multiclassing now.

If I'm surrounded by all sides and no place to hide, I can just use smoke bomb. A lot of encounters got trivialized by thieves abilities. I now think that I can beat the DLCs which I couldn't in solo Psion PotD run.

Try non-Psion

Nope. I know that regular cipher is stronger mainly with magical weapons that can create massive aoe damage and can generate much more focus BUT I like the idea of passively generating focus

No need to do massive AoE damage. But if you're a Rogue you're attacking anyway. The whole point of Psion is not having to attack.

Yes, I can throw a smoke bomb and regen my focus. I'm using trickster and using mostly defensive skills of rogue. I agree that for single target damage, something like Soul Blade/Assassin is much better. But again, I want to use rogue defensive abilities, not offensive ones.

Yes, I've been considering a Rogue multi that uses that line exclusively since the Rogue attack abilities eat so many level-ups that there isn't really any leftover for the Smoke Bomb line if you're using the attacks.

Beguiler/Debonair has fun play, but not that great for solo I'd guess. Charm for control then 100% hit to crit before it runs out.

Why am I the only one who voted for priest?

Heal and protect your allies while smiting enemies. Multi-Class with Paladin or fighter and it's even better.

Flavor wise, I like it much more over wizards and druids. I don't usually play casters and usually go for fighters/barbarians or rangers. But I like Priest.

As seen in every other game that has a cleric class such as all editions of (A)D&D, World of Warcraft, etc.

It's like the saltine of RPGs, about as vanilla as playing human fighter. At least some of the other classes like chanter and cipher brought some innovation. But you do you.

I hate the conventional weapon part of being a cipher, which is why my choice is wizard. I can't unsee the metaphysical struggle between tech and arcana and view those classes who try to mix them as schizo. The additional information you can get as a cipher is also largely useless because it is way too psychological and doesn't help your power struggles. I don't want to be Eoran Sigmund Freud ffs.
