Whoever thought that limited turns are fun should have his balls glued to a railroad...

Oh boy, those are indeed fun. I'd say those are genius, this is what this game needed not to turn into move-overwatch-repeat grindfest.

Also - Veteran does seem enough, said I after meeting stunlancers who can knock a guy unconscious forever even if dealing 1 dmg because fuck you that's why. Oh, and reinforcements mid-mission. And other cool stuff, that currently makes my lone specialist runing through the woods with 2 troopers, stunlancer, MEC and sectoid behind him.
At least we accomplished mission target and most of the team already evacuated :D

EDIT: Im retarded, each squad member can cast an evac zone for himself.

TL;DR: Time limits good, this better than nuXCOM1

I'd grab pirated version because it can be locked against upgrades, in case they would sisi out and reduce difficulty because people complained a little.

If someone want's donate code (because he has spare for some weird reason), feel free, I'd probably do review, but that would be after I'd finish it.

are sectoids always armed? I was sure they could only use their psi abilities, so I moved one of my dudes when the faceless revealed itself only to get blasted by said sectoid (first time he ever used a weapon in say 5 missions)
They have wrist weapons, zoom at him and look closely at his hand.

the timers are cheap cop out for shity designers. Yes, its not fun to go on overwatch fest, but why work in improving AI further, when you can just add timers... you know these poor "indie" developers that released their first game, oh wait...

If you had experience with a real world terrorism activities, you'd understand these timers. Police will not take forever to arrive, when they start arriving.

What I noticed also, the stealth thing can backfire. If you miss the ambush, liked I did the aliens get a free turn afterwards. Did not go well for my guys.
Overwatch is not the smartest thing to do during ambush. Better to get your troops as close as possible, then fire with one that has best chance to hit. Then after aliens do their free move, move your other 3 guys into flanking positions and fire from there.

That depends on your squad. If you have very high hit rates on all targets with all soldiers then it is safe to use Overwatch from Stealth. Advantage is that these Overwatch shots are not penalized unlike normal Overwatch shots.
Also you would want to place the soldiers in a way that not all of them well shoot the same target and you are out of range for flanking or charging enemies.

Great, one of my top soldiers just disappeared from the roster.

Delay the game for polishing. Leave terrible bugs in.
He has been kidnapped. His girlfriend used handcuffs and now they have vacation, and if he would be nice, she might even return him...

Insert Title Here RPG Wokedex Codex Year of the Donut I'm very into cock and ball torture
Really glad to see that timers are causing butt hurt to be honest :smug:
I fucking love the timers and I am playing on Legendary. The only people who complain are bad at this (in their eyes) 'dumbed down popamole game.' The hilarity!

Those timers are amazing. They force you to move and react. It's such a rush. Anyone who thinks this is a 'cheap copout' should consider that that's like calling HP in an RPG a 'cheap copout.' It's a fucking mechanic, now get good and deal with it. Change your playstyle.

Shit, just got served an unwinnable mission. It was classified as easy. I got there, and low and behold they have
mechs with AOE attacks
That thing roflstomped my squad into oblivion. Lots of panic and such. It looked like I could manage maybe if I was really lucky, but then comes reinforcements with another batch of dudes and one more of those things. Goodbye Xcom nice knowing you. This ironman save is now over I think. Makes me wonder what they consider hard mission!

Ok, the LOS in this game is officially fucking retarded. I had a solder in a forward position after dropping 3 advent -- on my turn, with no enemies visible, I move a solder to a spot 2 squares BEHIND him, in such a way that this soldier would have no additional line of sight. The move immediately activates 2 packs in the middle of my turn, each of which are two screens away and neither of which were in a position that my forward soldier would not have seen.

People complaining about timers obviously forgot nuXcom was shipped with chain panic mechanics where one guy panics, decides to shoot other members of the team and starts a panic chain. Especially "fun" were situations where panic soldier shoots and kills the VIP you were guarding... I will take timers over that shit any day of the week.

They still chain panic. One of my dudes panicked and went into overwatch. When my other also guy who also panicked move he tried to kill him. Chain panic is very much alive :)

That sounds like a bug. In EW they were smart enough to remove soldiers shooting at allies
