In other news, OpenXcom TFTD support is a thing that is happening. Way more excited for that, frankly.

Nah, they would have put it in the trailer if they had a buildings-fall-down gimmick

I hope someone mods TFTD to another color scheme. I'd love to play it, but I can't stand all that puke yellow.
We can already blow up buildings in X com EU and EW, so yeah it'll be in.
You can blow up SOME walls and debris. Some are indestructible.

This one is right.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I don't really like how it looks (comical swords especially), but PC exclusive? Might be cool.

Looks interesting. I noticed that the 'rebels' are out of the city, coming in to invade and cause a ruckus. So I guess you play the part of the invader this time instead of just defending stuff, an interesting inversion at least and might make for some proactive gameplay. Melee makes a lot of sense if the game's mostly gonna be in the close-quarters of a city. Only problem is I thought any 'city' elements in the first XCOM were the worst parts because the engine does not handle multiple-floors nor building destruction all that well. That's definitely gonna need to be the biggest improvement. That and ditching 2-AP which isn't going to happen.

Well, they pissed off NeoGAFFE by announcing it as a PC exclusive, so at least something positive came out of it when the game inevitably turns out to be shallow crap.

Melee is ok. I cannot remember ho many times I encountered aliens close on and how useful Mech's punch was.

I should remember not to browse non-specialist websites. The biggest retardation I read today was that X(-)COM should be RTwP and the best systems for tactics are
WEGO > RTwP > TB.

Destructive environments should be technically possible (and prolly the reason they had to skip the console versions), because it uses UE4 like Hatred, and Hatred has beautiful destruction.

Haters gonna hate, D1P for me. Stealth, corpse looting, procedurally generated maps, proper mod support, sounds awesome (the screenshots look bad though). Also, i expected it to be a PC exclusive.

dont like the sterile art direction, cartoonish. The characters in the trailer have no expressions and look like some manboons, much worse than in XCOM EU, but i guess its just a trailer.

good news overall, will see how bad they fuck up, but it might be good enough if they learned some things from XCOM EU. So yeah

:d1p: if we have a better strategic layer this time.

no full destruction, no buy

I'm sure there's a lot of nuances modern Xcom misses, but having access to a mech that can't devastate an entire area seems sacrilegious. Saying "fuck naw" to a terror mission and just levelling everything is way too fun.
