Quick look at the map. It's very trippy and has a lot of verticality and attention to it, actually a pretty cool one. And oh, who's this guy at the bottom?
I see someone read that Majong manga where Hitler and his twin children go Super-Aryan.
He probably summoned reinforcements if he survived more than 1 round.

Looks like a spooky fella and I just love how the mod leans fully into absurd nazi fantasy, Moon Bases, Super Aryan...
XCF also had Nazi bases hidden in ice and it was taken completely seriously, but they're shown as the bad guys, not so much here due to having splinter factions. Isn't there a path where you join the racists and lose access to the mutants? I suppose that one stops you from getting to this path.

Eventually we get an event with Zander speaking to us and revealing his plans
The guy from an obscure LPArchive/Something Awful LP becomes a main character! IIRC there was a reference to him in XCOM1 too. His plan involves fighting the brain, but harder it seems. Also, no idea if it will stop the Shadow gods from showing up and wrecking everything anyway. Also, if they're the Shadowmasters they were talked about, what are the Shadow Gods? Monsters from the Shadow Realms unrelated to these guys? Also also, I love how a bug of the OG game becomes a plot point. Maximum autism!

Little miffed that he sees us purely as 'soldier'. Motherfucker, we build what is essentially a second power on Earth bullying all the other factions at will and you just call us 'soldier'!
It's a neutral way to refer to the player. Better than "they" or "you". You were supposed to be a bisexual female pirate captain*, but it's a bit vague here.

*Not sure how that works if you choose the Male Path.

Nah. But he has like 700 purple shields, which should have let him live more than one round against shadowrealms weapons. But hammer op I guess.

After you get gudrun the champion, if you never researched *the mutant alliance*, you can formally ally with the humanists. This lets you recruit veteran males for cash.

What bug is that?

I think "shadow gods" is not terminology the game uses. There are the shadowmasters, who are the same thing as the lokk'narr gods (and also the narr'lokk gods by extension). From the game files, the "fallen ones" have the shadowmaster race together with the golden saints. So maybe the shadowmasters are just splinters of mad ethereals/solar governor?

That Russia, especially Siberia, is a country that Never joins the aliens and abandons the XCOM project, unlike other nations. It was a funny bug... Or one of the programmers was a vatnick.

Possibly? Either way, the point is that by killing the brain the regular way, they rampage on Earth.

What are the drawbacks for doing that?
