Problem with that is lately publishers have been putting review scores not only in ads but also in the game box.

Like it or not reviews are now part of marketing the game, they are not put the whole review and just put the score.

True, but they'll always find something. A publisher took a single line from one of my reviews and put it on the US box -- but they didn't use my score because it wasn't high enough. :)

In my country the system operates YOU
The 75% is average comes from the way american schools function, hence you are.

As for reading reviews, if there were headlines in more reviews that summarized them and justified it then i could be bothered to at least skim them to see if it was worth the time for games that interested me. With most of the reviews I see, you have to waste an inordinate amout of time to see the basic premise of why they like or dislike a game - assuming this is really explained. Often reviews are just meaningless rambles 'written' by people who are extremely poor at communication...and especially being brief.

YES!
Look at the Cop:power of law review here.

"All in all, COPS 2170: The Power of Law is a flawed game with a very interesting premise marred by bad friendly AI and the questionable implementation of the TB system, but it has its full share of good points. It doesn’t touch upon the strategic scale complexities of Jagged Alliance 2, or the tactical beauty of Silent Storm, but it’s still a decent title and deserves a play through."

I wholeheartedly agree with this review btw. But if there was a number score what would it be? A 60? 70? 50?

I think the text translates to a 60, so having no score still leads to a mental score. Most people would find this review invaldid and say the site loses credibility over this review.

Most sites gave this game 40 or below. But what are they comparing it to? SS, JA, BG, FO? Or Sudiki or Jade Empire? They don't say.

At rpgdot, 95% of the time the text matches the review, and by reading the text you can get an idea if you would like the game or not. Thats not true at other sites in my opinion. Average score, etc mean nothing. Only if the review is useful or not to the person interested in finding reviews of the game.
