What game are you wasting time on?

Fun way to kill time, but not sure this is my cup of tea. Worth the $5 or so? Ya.

I think they're the perfect type of "fried after work, zone out" game or "palette cleanser between heavier, more serious games."

I might go hard into iso RPGs or strategy or something for awhile and then need to just refresh in between, so these sorts of bite size experiences are great.

Imo Halls of Torment is basically Vampire Survivors+* but YMMV.

* VS prioritizes choosing which stuff to pick up, but all your aiming and attacking is automated, so you just move, while HoT by default makes you attack and move, but also has toggles for auto-aiming or auto-shooting, so you can play it as manually or VS like as you prefer. Personally I tend to default to playing it as a twin stick arcade shooter and it hits my sweet spot for this sort of thing.

I jumped back in Mass Effect 2 after a while, and I noticed the fish in my aquarium are all dead. Apparently, you're supposed to feed them every time you come back to the ship or something. FFS, I'm a bit busy saving the galaxy and shit. I can't run back to my private quarters to feed the damn fish all the time. This is bullshit!

Oh well, at least my hamster bro is doing fine.

Was going to play Dungeon Siege, but ironically enough this game published by Microsoft doesn't work with Windows Vista er newer version, since the associated versions of DirectX is have a component that unenables Windows to read the particular copy protection used on the CDs. I couldn't get it to work even after uninstalling that component, adjusting graphics options, modifying the .ini file and running it in compatibility mode. Isn't that sad, that I will miss this game?

Only reason I have the CD is that I bought it from Amazon (before I knew better) to play the Ultima 6 Project. So it worked on my old XP machine, but not on my Win 7 machine.
Oh well, I see GOG sells it now, so presumably the no-CD version will work, so I will buy it when/if it's on at least 75% sale. I can't even redeem the physical version I bought, since the copy protection is apparently so strong that it was not deemed necessary with the usual inserting of a code when installing.

In depths of a playthrough of Kings Field 2. Usually when people call a game a proof of concept for its sequel I get a bit annoyed but you can really see it here.

The first game was a lot of fun but the sequel takes nearly every element to the next level. The dungeon itself has gone from 5 floors to one big sprawling area but every distinct part remains well designed and unique enough that mentally mapping it all still works.

Really glad I played them in order, doubt I could go back to such slow turning and absence of sprinting now. I've been casualized.

Oh also, the guy who turns up randomly and explains what items do needs to be in every game.
Which one is the best?

My previous experience with Nature/Warfare build in Titan Quest and Necromancer in Grim Dawn tells me that trying to be both summoner and melee/caster isn't going to work in the long run and it ain't that fun to me.
Took another good look at my skills and realised that i can either go full summoner with Necro/Occultist as my secondary mastery or try going full thunder barbarian with soldier/inquisitor/arcanist mastery. Good thing that respec is pretty cheap.
GrimDawnnPMhjgDbJJ.jpg

Finding a fuckhuege axe of lightning made my decision for me. Thunder barbarian it is!
GrimDawnPK6lF7X5LT.jpg

Field testing showed some good results as warden could barely do any damage against me.
Still, i noticed that i am not durable enough when encountering certain damage types without briarthorn pet tanking for me. Should focus on taking that Ghoul devotion for extra survivability.
GrimDawnTLsNWwYhjz.jpg

My current build. Feels more focused compared to the previous one and i kinda like it better
Didn't invest any of the points into the second mastery but i think the inquisitor suits me the most despite me being a melee character. Will go for it after grabbing the lifesteal totem and lightning ultimate.

Alternative DLC route, huh? Will try it later as another character.

Spot on! When I have nothing in the tank, I can play these games - and they can get tough as there are random drops that are better than others and you can get bad runs of level up skills. However, at the end of it all, it doesn't quite have the same feeling as finishing - I don't know, some 8 out of 10 difficulty scale game, but still an enjoyable way to spend some time.

This no-cd crack might be worth a try.

Finished Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered one of Sony's PC ports. It's good game,it takes some inspiration from the Arkham games although it's not as good. Swinging around new York is fun and the gameplay is generally fine, the graphics look good and the story is fine. Like most people have said before the MJ and Miles Morales sneaking segments are the worst parts of the game, especially the Miles parts since they aren't really a part of the main story.Generally good game but not great.

Started playing Dungeon Siege, thanks to the no-CD crack that Asdow linked to.

So far mildly fun, with combat being a bit more clunky than in Diablo and Nox. But I guess it will be more interesting once I gather a party.

There are some small caves, dungeons and chests to be found if going off the beaten track, so that is good.

The best part about Dungeon Siege is fumbling around online to see if those QoL mod files you were using before but forgot to back up are still around anywhere.

I tried to replay Dungeon Siege a year ago, I think. Lost interest after snow land. Then tried Dungeon Siege II, which was a little different, but overall all a huge imporvement.

Enjoy the Revolution! Another revolution around the sun that is. Shadorwun: Hong Kong Divinity: Original Sin 2 Pillars of Eternity 2: Deadfire Pathfinder: Wrath I'm very into cock and ball torture I helped put crap in Monomyth
Doing a lot of reading... visual novels.

On PS5, I am playing 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim by VanillaWare. It's spil into to game types: Walking around, talking with people, progressing the story, and then a fairly simple rtwp combat, where you use giant robots to fight invading kaiju. There's a lot of things going on, and a lot of time jumping. Alarm bells might be ringing, but I like it so far. Stay away if you detest weeb games.

The second Ace Attorney game on Switch. Funny, and over the top characters, and good music. Cases are whacky, so if you're not into that sort of thing, avoid. The music perfectly fits the game and hypes you up.

My only vivid memory of Dungeon Siege was that it always ran shitty on my machines compared to the other big 3D isometric RPG of the era - NWN. I have an all consuming hatred of engine-caused micro-stutter every few steps (even Ultima VII) or when panning the camera so I always gave up early. I imagine the Ultima 5 and Ultima 6 mods using that engine are worthy endeavors for players though

I liked Dungeon Siege. Loved the look of the menus, inventory systems, skill system and the fact you have a donkey to carry all your loot lol

I have a ten year old Win 7 machine with a lowly Intel 4000 integrated video card, and it runs Dungeon Siege just fine on max settings.
Some areas look very nice:

Well I have a 19 years old gaming PC in my room with Windows XP and Dungeon Siege still installed from the time I played it when it first came out. Still it runs great.

Soulash 2 - It's rough, very rough. But it's fun nonetheless. A lot of freedom, good amount of skills, exploration, and... bugs. Your character ages , although if you are an elf that lives a couple hundred years, it takes away from that element a bit. I am sticking with humans for now. The combat can be pretty unforgiving, but once you build up your character, you can go into most fights with confidence. The worlds that generate are procedural and have history built in. The game will need a lot of work, but it's worth it if you are a skill and exploration player. Oh, it uses character "coins" as well. I know that can bother people.

I am also playing

ESO - Good lore, exploration, music, housing. Bad combat.
Etrian Odyssey HD - Good exploration, cartography, combat (mostly). Bad pacing at times.
