Occasional reruns of Fallout 2 and other similiar classics. And then there's the Civ series. Taking some leaps of faith with games I really wasn't sure about, sometimes for the better some times for worse. Overall I didn't really play all that much of anything for there not being too much of anything really interesting. And it's almost overbearing how fast my backlog grows right now since I haven't gotten back to the pace to play all that much now either.

I'm very into cock and ball torture
Played all the SNES RPGs during the dry period, also found Morrowind, Arx Fatalis, Ultima Underworld, Wizardry 8, System Shock 1-2, Star Control 2, Albion and many other top class games during this time. I had despised all the first person RPGs during the golden age, but after party-based RPGs vanished from the market I learned to appreciate them as well.

I was very often cursing the heavens and the big publishers for not seeing how huge market there would be for nostalgia-driven oldschool RPGs - after the Kickstarter boom everybody of course saw the light. However we still lack a truly worthy successor to the Infinite engine games, maybe there will never be one.

I must have looked really retarded and at some point the other clan's server admin called me on a private chat and said something in the lines of "ENOUGH! We get it. You're legit. But the fact is YOUR CLAN IS NOT. Mind the companies you keep and stop shitposting everywhere. Also, I hear [Clan Name] is recruiting, you might wanna check that out. Friend [Clan Leader] on Steam if you're interested".

EDIT: my OP was brofisted by two Jedi :P

dw after reading that i think you're retarded too

I played a lot of City of Heroes. Fighting games also hit a new golden age around that time, so I played a lot of those.

Almost didn't play any games from 2004 through 2015. No real reason other than school, work, and family/spouse commitments that kept me busy.

I did play the odd shooter here and there in 2012, as well as some SNES games on emulators. And since I was never that big into video games due to lack of a good pc, I have a pretty good big backlog to go through to keep me busy for years.

I read a lot of excellent sci-fi/fantasy series instead. On the PC, I switched genres and played lots of Out of the Park Baseball, and Runescape for a few years with my kids.

Mostly pen and paper, dint have much free time back then, working two jobs an roleplaying were only hobby. Comp I usually went back to good stuff, and whatever new I could tolerate, such as NWN2, Witcher an few other thing. Other genres, Severance, DoW, an whatever demos appeared on cover disc o PC Zone.

Dawn of War series, Impressions Games stuff, replayed Fallout and Fallout 2 till there's nothing left I haven't seen in them. Lots of JA 1.13 also some RTS and the occasional popamole shooter. Also tried whatever crazy russian bugfest games I found and sometimes I was left surprised how fun they could be. Then again I'm not entirely convinced that cRPG genre is alive again, I don't see many games being released worth replaying over and over save for Age of Decadence which is fucking great.

Nowadays, mainstream, I only read/wait for 10 western authors. New books are mostly Japanese web novels translated in English by amateurs. Oh, and one or two longass series written by porn authors, suspected to be Americans.

Replayed ToEE in 2006 and more or less started modding it instead of gaming :p
But there were some good releases in that time like KotC, JA2 1.13, Supreme Commander. Also played HoMM3, and Rollercoaster Tycoon 1&2 and Eador during that time.
Towards the end it got pretty bad though, I gave in and played that shit diablo clone the codex was praising in 2003, Divine Divinity.

Hell yeah. I played Civ IV and ME2:TW for several hundreds, THOUSANDS of hours even. And then I installed some mods... +M

Lot of MMOs, especially WoW. Other than that I stuck with consoles for the most part if I wasn't replaying old PC games.

Steve gets a Kidney but I don't even get a tag.
I played Thief 2 for the first time in 2009, and Thief Gold in 2010. Then I found out about T2X and fan missions.

That's what I've been playing for the last 5 years.
