What are the most superior graphics from cRPG 2005 and earlier?

3D graphics inevitably age, unlike glorious 2D graphics.

Perihelion (1993) for the Commodore Amiga

Nice recommendation. I'm watching a gameplay now…

Lands of Lore: Throne of Chaos (1993) - really sharp images and art. Nicely compliments a superb game
Ultim... wait, pre-2005? WTF? Maybe I'm old, but it would be harder come up with a list of post 2005 crpgs that have superior graphics and intricate scenarios.
This or Veil of Darkness.

Thanks, I'll watch a gameplay later. Watching the trailer, it reminds me of point-and-click adventure games.

Fallout Tactics (2001)

It had a sharper look than Fallout 1-2 and improved resolution and UI, while retaining the same aesthetic.

Tactics improved quite a few things.

Besides that, Tactics is also gruesome, if this was a Doom entry, I’d think it came with “Ketchup” pre-installed. Some people will consider this a flaw (It sounds odd, to be honest. You didn’t have an issue with Lou, or other violent animations, in the original Fallout, but now you have such problems with violence in Fallout Tactics: Brotherhood of Steel?).

Better explosions. The modders even included (RP - RPU) the new graphics into Fallout 2. :-D

Since you’re controlling a whole squad, investing on the throwing skill isn’t a “based” move, like it is* in Fallout - Fallout 2.

Bigger arsenal available, correct me if I’m wrong!

Not to mention how the minimaps (a feature barely useful in Fallout - Fallout 2) are infinitely more detailed than the ones displayed in older Fallouts.

* Except if you use the exploit of having all your Flares permanently active, after you collected a ton of them. Flares are the only really good option for a Throwing build.

Yeah I'm a big fan of Tactics
