He's going to spend all our money on more Affliction and silk shirts

j/k sounds cool, Brian seems to be surprising me since some of his interviews in the past that made it sound like he gave up on all this stuff and was resigned to making Flash games or whatever. Good for him and his team with any luck, this will work.

Exactly. I see donating to this meaning far more than donating toward a Wasteland 2. If this succeeds, we will certainly see the Obsidian Kickstarter game, and who knows what other developers might crawl out and start similar Kickstarter games?
And if it fails we can say "I told you so" and laugh at all the crushed hopes and dreams.

Holy crap. I thought that this was gonna be some kind of garbage third person running simulator like Risen.
Topdown, tb, party combat? The Caretrain is stopping at this station!

Wont be throwing money at it though. Its like voting. Waste of resources.

i guess bro, the idea of publisherless games sounds good in theory

but if the publisherless games are still as shit as the publishered games then who cares

and once most of these internet funded games turn out to be shit im sure the hysteria will come to an end and people will lose interest in funding anything else

Let's be honest with ourselves bro: Even if it's shit, it's still going to be better than practically any other modern game you could get for $15. I mean, how bad could it be, honestly? It shouldn't be that hard for them to make good combat and character systems, and that's already more than any "RPG" in the last five years had.

As you know you can't give your money to W2 using paypal.
So my question as a pole is: what i need to have this possibility?
Bank account in U.S. dollars + credit card ( karta płatnicza ) ?
Question is mainly directed to Poles and other Europeans.

Can people from outside the US pledge to projects?

Yes! Anyone, anywhere (with a major credit card) can pledge to Kickstarter projects.

What did they mean by that? "karta kredytowa" or "karta płatnicza" ?

Thanks in advance :)

Prepaid potato card can do the trick, if you don't want an actual credit card. That's what I use for online shopping. I'm sure banks in potatoland provide prepaid-cards. As soon a you get the card you can go to the cashier and charge it with as much money as you want, or if you want, charge it with e-banking from a bank account.

Have in mind that kickstarter backing (which takes place through amazon) requires an additional dollar for the reward you select (ex: 15$ tier requires 16$) if you use a prepaid card.

If you have a visa card or whatever and Kickstarter accepts it then it should go through normally. That is you bank will charge an you an amount of potato money based on whatever exchange rate they are using.

A normal debit card should do, didn't have any problems with buying stuff in euro or dollars with mine.

Codexian Wasteland 2 Location + Statue Fund-Raising Drive

UPDATE: In time-honoured Codexian tradition, we need to make the developers regret this support this project. So, if we (that is, the Codex) can raise $5,000 before this offer expires (34 days to go), we'll donate all monies raised to the project with the intent on getting an appropriately Codexian location in Wasteland 2 - with a statue built in our honour! Simply donate to the Codex (button top-right) during the next month and let us know it's for Wasteland 2¹ (To make it easier, all donations this month will be taken for the project unless stated otherwise in the donation).

:rpgcodex:
Imagine a statue of this in Wasteland 2!

Suggest ideas for an appropriate :obviously: Codexian location in this thread. We'll sort something out as to what exactly that should be. The 30 digital copies will go to those who donate the most towards this prestigious endeavour - or we'll hold them for competitions and prizes maybe? If we raise less than $5,000 in time, we'll donate whatever money was raised and try and get the best reward we can. If we raise more, we might go for more digital copies or something who knows!?

We'll also throw in a months ad-free Codex for you for every $5 you donate (be sure to leave us your account name when you donate¹).

¹On the page with the "Submit donation" (or whatever) from PayPal, there is a small "+" sign that, if you click it, expands into a text entry box where you can type a note to the donation recipient.

If for some reason you forgot to indicate your donation was towards the statue, do what is usually done in this case: PM TALUNTAIN with your last donation information (PayPal email, date of donation and donation sum) and ask him to ADD THAT TO THE STATUE FUND!!

And WHY do you ask?

As one of the last bastions of hope for true RPGs and gathering point of fighters against decline from all over the globe for almost a decade now, it is not only our responsiblity - no it's even more: It is our holy duty to errect a Statue in honor of our own monocleness.

Living proof and testimony for all future generations to come that in the greatest hour of need, when the perfect opportunity arose to show the world that the true genre is not quite dead yet, we were there. NOT on the sidelines, but right at the centre of the revolution. Standing ready with wallets in our hands and pledging not only for our sakes, but for the sake of our children. Our loved ones. Our brothers in arms. All of gamekind. Right here and right now fate presented us with the chance to make a difference.

Aye, pledge money and you may loose your life savings. Stay silent now, and you'll live to play Diablo VII. Dying in our beds, many years from now, would we be willing to trade all the days, from this day to that, for one chance - just one chance - to come back here and tell the popamole right in it's ugly face that it may take our lives, but it'll never take... OUR MONOCLES!

I used my visa karta płatnicza and kickstarter/amazon seem to have accepted it, although no potato has been eaten from my bank account, which is suspicious.

The cards are charged at the end only if the goal is reached
