I wish it were a cryomancer instead but at least it looks fun.

The new weapons kind of suck. Which is a shame because the other sienna classes especially could use more interesting melee weapon choices.

Scythe is slow and has no good AP/single target damage, only decent horde clear. Which feels weird, Scythes in games normally are quite fearsome, really feels like it should have some huge single target overhand kill move. But instead its just an AoE stun... when the flail already has absurd AoE stun AND damage on heavy 1.

Soulstealer staff is a copy of the overwhelmingly shitty and ill-suited for this kind of game ability Psykers got in Darktide. You have to focus on a single target and stand almost still for several seconds to deliver admittedly good damage. But your charging up time is completely wasted if someone else kills it while you're charging. The ability seems completely trash compared to Bolt Staff, which can also be charged up for absurd amounts of damage but then thrown at whatever you like. I guess the Soulstealer is advantaged in being able to target things through other things but Bolt Staff also goes through tons of things while charged so this is a really small niche for soulstealer staff to exist in.

A bit unusual, usually the DLC weapons are between overpowered and gamebreakingly overpowered for a few months after release.

The new class is actually good though and plays pretty well. Skeletons do feel a little bit too tanky in defense mode vs. anything less than a CW patrol but otherwise everything feels well balanced. Somewhat ironically her abilities allow her to take advantage of the other normally weaker melee weapons and staffs well. e.g. Crowbill's complete lack of cleave and horde clearing ability is quite compensated by her abilities to make crits have infinite cleave and do AoE explosion damage, and consuming skeletons to lower overcharge makes more dedicated ranged staff builds viable.

Stuff:

The new free map concluding the Karak Azgaraz adventure in Vermintide 2 is coming to all platforms. Brace yourself for a stormy new level, and even a new enemy to face…

Heroes!

A free new update is coming to PC on April 11, containing a new map: the conclusion of the Karak Azgaraz storyline! This fourth, final map is not a remaster of a Vermintide 1 mission, but a brand new, stormy mission!

A Parting of the Waves

Those who have followed Lohner’s Chronicles recently might already know, but our Heroes are not on the best of terms right now. After Sienna picked up Necromancy and started raising the dead to fight the onslaught of Skaven and Chaos better, things have been… tense. Distrust slowly surged amongst our heroes. Today, the Ubersreik Five are on the verge of falling apart.

That’s when jolly ol’ Kruber had a fantastic idea! The Five should group up and set sail, chasing after the Skaven ships fleeing after being routed in Khazukan Kazakit-Ha!
Slaying rats is what got them together in the first place, surely it would help bring them back together.

Only, the seas might not be so kind. As they chase the scurrying Skaven to a whaling village, the storm is getting dangerous, the waves are roaring, and the guiding light of the village’s lighthouse seems more ominous than comforting…

We’re excited for you to explore the final chapter of the Karak Azgaraz storyline on April 11.

New enemy type: Chaos Warrior with Shield

More dangers are lurking in A Parting of the Waves than just rain. A brand new enemy type is coming with this update: A Chaos Warrior armed with a shield and mace. This foe is mighty and tough. It’ll take some mighty blows to fell these soldiers of Chaos, or a cunning hero able to expose their weak spot.

The Chaos Warrior with Shield will be available in all maps with Rotbloods presence.

Shooting up your ride

And so it goes again with the current skulls event.

Vermintide 2 event: The keep has been redecorated, you can collect skulls for buffs, there's new boons in the wastes, we added new skins and a new frame, you can get the previous event stuff from the shop for a few (in-game) coins, go have fun
Darktide event: Headshots give you some more money or something whatever fuck off

It's maddening that Fatshart manages to make games with such fun core gameplay whilst surrounding that gameplay with shitty mechanics and unrelenting incompetence. Can you believe the latest Darktide patch has an unlocalized text error again? Astounding.

They just made Darktide to get money for Vermintide 2 development. Simple as.
