I think complaints about Kingmaker's governance minigame and WoTR's pseudo-HoMM may have turned them off from making minigames that actually matter forever. It's great.
I think the only reason the ship battle minigame is good is because they didn't have much room to ruin it by stuffing every thing they could into it.
But they did that with Colony management that is just busywork for minor bonuses.
Lol I completely forgot about it.

You can get some nice bonuses from colony management, i would not call it minor tbh

You can get some nice bonuses from colony management, i would not call it minor tbh
Still minor. Bonuses are like +5 to stats or some weapon that is already worse that whatever you found while questing. Only use of Colony stuff is that they give you endless supply of medkits and grenades that you can then sell to get favor with factions because otherwise it is almost impossible to max out all factions .
