So it still has gods, clerics, etc? How is it even sci fi then? Purely aesthetic reasons (blasters instead of bows, etc)?
It takes place in the future.

Starfinder shares its setting with Pathfinder, set in its far future after Golarion, the planet that Pathfinder was set on, had mysteriously disappeared in an event called "The Gap". The history of the planet during the disappearance is lost to all races, preventing players from returning and interfering with previous events in the Pathfinder timeline, while also acting as the foundation of Starfinder's own timeline. Because Starfinder shares its past with Pathfinder, races and monsters of the Pathfinder setting persist in the Starfinder universe alongside new alien races from other worlds. Magic remains a part of the game's mechanics, often intertwined with high-level technology. In the time since the Gap, allied races formed an alliance called the Pact Worlds for diplomacy, trade, and technological sharing, with Absalom Station as their focal point for these activities. An organization called the Starfinder Society, based on Absalom Station and other planets, was established to seek out pre-Gap technology and any information that may have explained what happened prior to that event.

Technomancer is merely an half caster, I wanna play as a full caster. I aways play this games as caster. So far I have over 1000 hours on Kingmaker, did multiple runs, every single time as an caster.

Also played, Dark Sun : Shattered Lands/Wake of the Ravager, Ravenloft Strahd possession/Stone prophet, NWN1, NwN2, IWD, IWD2, Menzoberranzan, Dungeon hack, BG1/2/ToB, Eye of The beholder 1/2/3(…) as an arcane caster.

I was wishing that the next game would be probably Rise of the Runelords, but since the lv range is too low for the OwlCat target audience, that Iron Gods is the most likely. With the “reveal” in link bellow, I realized that is either, starfinder or iron gods. Considering how “space like” is, is probably Starfinder.

• Developing and implementing interface elements based on the approved style: borders, icons, buttons, etc. (you know the drill);

• A minimum of 3+ years of work experience as a Light Artist / Tech Artist / Environment Artist;

• Experience with UE4 / Unity;

• Understanding of the nuances of lighting in game engines;

• Ability to work within technical constraints;

• Skills in working with static and dynamic lighting;

• Understanding of the basic physics of light (reflection, refraction, scattering);

We are looking for a 3D Character Artist (Middle+) with a minimum of 3+ years of work experience in game development and a sense of form, mass, plasticity, and color, as well as a well-developed artistic taste, for a new unannounced project (a third-person sci-fi action RPG!).


What you will be working on: Characters, clothes/armor, weapons, hair styles (the job profile is chosen based on the candidate's skills and preferences).


Main software packages: Maya, Zbrush, Substance Painter.


Preferable (at least 2 from the following):

• Experience with engines;

• Skills in hard surface modeling;

• Arts degree;

• Experience in creating realistic realtime hair;

• PBR texturing.

WotR Season Pass 2: Eclectic Boogaloo is on-the-way. Hopefully after they're done with the Enhanced Edition.

As noted, they're looking for designers with "Extensive experience in playing video games, in particular RPGs and turn-based tactics" and "Experience in working on game projects (preferably RPGs, tactics games, and strategy games)" to work on a Pathfinder game they're making in Unreal, so they're not totally abandoning their core audience, just trying to expand it.
