They finally release a Death Korps of Krieg set and they inflate the prices. Why does it always have to be like this with Fatshark? Why can't I just compliment them on something without them pulling a fast one a few days later?

This is the type of company they chose to be. Especially after they sold out to Tencent.

They didn't even design it correctly, the air hose is missing.

The talent trees are a huge improvement, they allow varied playstyles and leveling up feels rewarding as most of the nodes give you significant bonuses. However, most of the other systems are still pretty bad. The map/difficulty selection is RNG, the weapon shop is RNG, crafting is RNG (stats gets rolled on a gun when you buy it so you might have to buy it multiple times to get what you want). Maps lack variety and identity, I can't name a single map or if somebody showed me screenshots of the game I couldn't tell you which missions they were taken from.

It's a shame because the combat is ridiculously fun and completely carries this game, it's like somebody at Fatshark thinks you need these MMOish type RNG carrot on a stick grinds to keep player retention instead of just a fun game, I just think it's off-putting as I have to go through the horrid crafting system every time I want to try a different weapon.

This game is what happens when the people in charge of monetization have no idea what they're doing. They just took a bunch of random mobile game mechanics intended to extend the game's lifespan and incentivize a cash shop, but had no idea how to combine them.

I started playing again. The game still isn't as good as Vermintide II in my opinion but at least with the latest update the performance is slightly better. Also, I'm loving the Ogryn with a gun build. I was planning on going for the giant anti-air gun but the shotgun-in-the-form-of-a-grenade-launcher, the kickback, has become my darling. I love the stun, cleave and sheer one shot damage of this beastie.

Is this game fucking good yet? I wanna shoot in 40k with my bros.
It'll still be fun if you have friends who want to play this.

The base game is very good, at least when I played it. It's just the progression, the shops, the lack of maps, technical issues, etc etc doomed this game. If you can snag this on a sale it's probably worth a few sessions.

Unlocked and Loaded will include the overhaul to itemization, a new mission with a new objective, and improvements to social features.

Itemization Overhaul:
Unlock Your Potential: With the itemization overhaul, players will master their weapons over time, unlock blessings, weapon marks, and perks, and tinker with their gear to increase its Power. This overhaul will help players carve a clear path to get the weapons and gameplay they want.
(More dev blogs on this soon and the next Q&A blog will be released this week!)

New Mission:
Time’s running out! Players will race against time and repel heretics in this shorter high-octane mission in which players’ strike teams are the only thing standing between a barreling freight train and Tertium. (Did you see the end of the teaser trailer?)
(We’re also working on a dev blog for this mission, too!)

New Social Feature:
Team-up against Chaos: As Darktide is made to be enjoyed with others, our new Group Finder features will make teaming up with like-minded players easier. Before embarking on a mission, players will be able to form groups and band together to wreak havoc among the ranks of the heretics. You can form groups based on language, difficulty, mission focus, and more.

Obligatory "is the game good yet?" post. 50% off until oct 10.
I've been considering getting it, but what I've seen is:
  • No singleplayer. lol, lmao (seems there's a mod for it?)
  • No dedicated servers. There are, but they are ran by fagshark, you can't host your own. This somehow sounds worse than the shitty p2p they had that drops everyone if the host disconnects.
  • Shit networking. I have a friend who's very far away, but we can play decently networked games well enough. Why are these faggots so insistent on not releasing the servers? Is it so they can kill the game when their next unfinished abortion releases?
Is it at least fun and enjoyable to play? Recent reviews say the game had big issues with progression and class balance, but now it's all good. True or copium?

Combat has always been the redeeming aspect here.
Recent reviews say the game had big issues with progression and class balance, but now it's all good. True or copium?
The RNG was completely eliminated with exception to the base weapon stats which can be grinded up, and they'll likely add VT2 red gear that just maxes everything out in the future.
It shouldn't have taken them 2 years for this, but yeah it's better.

Play Vermintide 2 first unless you greatly prefer the 40k setting over fantasy or something. Still far more polished and more (free) content.

Well that can be said basically about every game in this genre though.
