Is there a way to add custom portraits? Kinda odd that only females get full gasmask options.

http://www.underrail.com/wiki/index.php?title=Character_creation#Custom_portraits

Also, males do get full gas mask options.

Thanks. Dunno why but I somehow completely missed it. :prosper:

Its great playing it knowing my playthrough won't end half-way because the game isn't in development anymore.
I miss the old music and gfx. I guess i've grown accustomed to sharp caves and sterile look of the SGS.

Way to prove how clueless you are. A game supplying you with enough information to base your decisions on doesn't remove challange
Nonsense, metagame knowledge always makes stuff easier. especially in rpgs where difficulty is based on how much information you have on your current situation.

instead it is the only meaningful challange.
Its spelled challenge

As opposed to "Oh,no I didn't spec for enough carrying capacity and this game turned out to drop lots of loot, so now I have to go back to town every 10 minutes."
"Oh shit" situations is why i play games at all, if it was all smooth sailing id get bored. Also you could also improve your mercantile skill to lessen the impact of said drawback or even buy the pack rat perk and get a ton of carry capacity.

But then again feel free to think winning in a lottery is somehow a sign of superior intelligence.
Its not about winning the lottery you retard, game is beatable by virtually any build. Its you saying that you dont want to go tru rough spots during your playthrough.

Oh, and since you reminded me. I had also enough with these arbitraray inventroy space or carrying limitations, that can be overcome simply by wasting time in real life.
An easier way would be not carrying every single piece of scrap you find lying around you stupid cuck, game is perfectly beatable without you resorting to it, but if you must, its a good thing its there, and that the game is not balanced around you being able to carry and sell everything without effort, thus bringing the value of any single item down several times due to balance reasons.

It may make the game somewhat more realistic, but then again there is a reason we prefer playing games as opposed to going on with our lives.
Yeah, and that reason is challenge and having new, fun experiences. So why are you wasting away your life picking rocks and searching the merchant that will buy them when its not needed or encouraged?

Oh no, not one of those again.

You may have OCD if you feel an uncontrollable desire of grabbing every item you see and then forcing it into every merchant you find.
Seek medical help or just shoot yourself in the head.

Does Psychosis increase the cost of ALL powers or just the offensive ones? Does it make Forcefield more expensive?

Playing as a psi/stealth character for the first time (had gone with sniper/assault rifles during EA) and I can't believe how fun it is despite the initial frustration, the game does annoy me a bit when I miss opportunities due to the way I focused my char but it all goes away when I notice the amount of possibilities provided by the skills I chose.

Also, I don't see any problem with the weight limit playing with a 3 STR char, no point carrying a dozen psi beetle caparaces around, you get enough money without selling every single weapon you loot, and if I am correct you can even disassemble items for key components instead of hauling whole things so...

If the text says "all psi abilities," it probably means all psi abilities. If in doubt, you can save the game, select the feat real quick, then try casting a non-offensive psi spell. In general, I find that Psychosis isn't really worth it since the increase in cost was raised to 20% from 10%; you gain (lose?) more psi point cost than the conferred increase in crit chance, while non-offensive spells also cost more with no benefit, and you give up a feat to do it.

Later on though, if you find yourself with tons of extra psi points and few psi feats left to choose from, it may be worth it.

Side note: The Underrail Wiki is extremely thorough, complete (up to Early Access and a bit beyond), and well organized. It's one of the very best gaming wikis I've ever seen, almost unheard of for such a niche game.

Edit: I may be remembering incorrectly. It could be that psi skills with no crit chance don't have their costs increased, either. I could have sworn it was an across-the-board cost increase, but it's been a long while since I messed with psi.

Does the health growth of a character also get reduced if they go psionic or is it just the starting health?

It affects base (or natural... there's some interchangeable terminology at work) health, which means that it does affect growth as well. It won't affect any health added by psionic, medicinal, or equipment effects, though.

Wiki said:
The formula for natural health is 30 + Constitution * 4 + Level * (4 + (Constitution * 1.2)). The player character also has a natural health multiplier of 1.5. Any item bonuses to health are applied after this.

Hello everyone. I've been lurking on the Underrail incline thread since a few months ago, though I never posted anything.

I'll be honest: I never liked the modern concept of early access. I gave this one a try due to my friend saying it was like Fallout 2.5. It didn't disappoint and I did a few runs on the last alpha build. I enjoyed the hell out of it but I never believed that Underrail would be released at a really reasonable time. Released at a reasonable time AND wasn't a rushed job unlike the majority of these EA games from steam.

The game is so good. I still cannot believe this was mostly done by a single person with no budget and very little manpower. It baffles me that modern RPGs have hundred-man dev teams with tens to hundreds of millions of dollar budget but they all fall short vs indie games like this. At least as what I perceive as a good RPG game. From what I've heard Styg is from somewhere in eastern Europe? This is interesting because most modern games that I enjoy these days are from that part of the world. I guess my friend was right when he said "Slavs are saving our vidya games."

Into the next part of my post. I have a problem with crashes. I just got to the psi-beetle warehouse just north of the hopper nest. I just picked up an oddity that gave me lvl4 and my 4th feat. As I'm playing a crossbow guy, I picked up Concussive Shots feat. For some reason every time I shoot a psi-beetle now my game freezes up and a common crash error pops up in Windows. This already happened 5 times in a row. Any help on this, Styg?

tl;dr- Great game, 10/10. But I keep crashing after picking up Concussive Shots feat while shooting psi-beetles. Pls Halp.

I'm trying to edit my first post but I can't seem to see the edit button. Or is there no edit button?

Anyway, I tried playing again wishing the crash would be magically fixed after a restart.. It did.. For a time. Now it keeps crashing again on a different fight. Is anyone else having this? There is no error message or anything, just the game freezing up.

I really wanted to play this game so bad. I want to discover the story and mysteries of the Deep Caverns. Should I just roll another character? I'm thinking of doing a stealthy murderer with a knife, but I keep hearing it has problems dealing with the foundry monsters and robots. Any tips from expert knife fighters out there?

Bros, i am starting a brand new char. Going full on psi and crafting. 10 Will and 10 Int, will dump rest into agi and perception. What is the max perception with/without Snooping feat i need to discover all hidden doors and secrets? Please its really important :)

Interesting question, and the answer only Styg knows. I believe 10 is enough. Bear in mind you can have +2 from food (if it wasn't removed), and +1 from gear. Also 10 Int for the sake of crafting is too much.

I could swear there's something up with the randomization though. 80-90% hit chance rage-inducingly often results in two misses in a row, far more so than two hits in a row unless my memory is being selective.

Oh yeah, you're experiencing cognitive/selective/confirmation bias galore. So was I this morning, since I missed a 40% chance to hit ten times in a row. I have even more terminological monstrosities for you:
Clustering illusion is probably the best way to quickly demonstrate to people why they often experience seemingly mashed-together hills and valleys of successes and failures.

I have easier method guys - just do a shooting session on shooting range. ) My results was different for 2-3% from my hit chance. )

Also, there are two EMP granades in one room on that level, very useful for this fight and I bet Styg put them there just for this very reason.
Before there were three...:negative:
:troll:

Luckily Stealth+full Premeditation PSI abilities +Sniper Rfiles with Aimed Shot makes short work of most enemies. Died twice due to own stupidity and tiredness though and the build doesn't come together until Premediation is available or in other words when I hit 6 but I knew that in advance.

I can highly reccomend Paranoia for anyone who playing on Hard and has decent Perception.

Finished the tutorial. I though it was well implemented with both the dialogue and the detailed instructions.

I'm also digging the new music.

Probably better on the official forums. It's easy to miss stuff in the middle of codex megathreads.

Depends on active Styg will be here. AOD has its own bugs/glitches thread, but then it has its own forum.

Steam rating is up to 94%, which used to be the "Overwhelmingly Positive" threshold... I believe the threshold is now 95%.

The game would currently need 80 more positive reviews and no more negative reviews to push the rating to 95%. Hopefully it gets there someday. That would be a significant boost in convincing people to buy sight unseen.
