1024x768 was the default resolutions when the game began. It's not as easy as making the font any size i'd imagine, you've got to work with the sizes of icons, text boxes and all that which is already strictly defined.

The game looks fine at 720p, just lower your res until you find something you like.

Rathound King has met his end. I don't know how I got his head when it was smashed by my hammer, but it happened.

Haven't had this much fun playing in ages. Favorite thing to do is to get a bunch of rathounds all around you, and then throw an HE grenade at your feat.

Yes, I can read that. if I squint.
There is a problem with the font size.

Can you read the larger text in my previous post comfortably? It should be the same as the large font setting in-game, if I'm not mistaken. It's already quite a bit larger than forum posts at normal DPI settings. Do you really want it even larger?

Also, do you think any text in underrail.info.tm is particularly insufferable or readable? It uses the whole gamut of Underrail's fonts plus some standard monospace stuff, as rendered by your browser.

I'm trying to figure out what exactly is the issue some people are having with the font, because I honestly don't get it. Could be some sort of font rendering bug with particular GPU drivers or something for all I know. Or maybe it's more about the font style than size? I dunno.

I lowered my resolution to read the text. Not really a big deal although it's still a bit tinsy.

Pretty sure my character sucks mega balls, but I'm having fun until I run into a wall where megaballs get mercilessly megacrushed.

I'm glad to know everyone had trouble with Depot A the first time around. I love how this game assumes the player has, at least average intelligence and is, therefore, capable of learning. A modern game would give you a gay ass tutorial that would have a nagging female character or a "tough sarge" male character going "see that mutant? He is too far away for your AR. Grab the sniper rifle. Aimed shot is a great way to start combat. Now shoot the mutant. [blocks every other command except aimed shot]. CONGRATULATIONS, YOU SHOT HIM WITH A SNIPER RIFLE, YOU'RE SO GOOD AT THIS!!! But he is not dead yet, so pop an adrenaline, back away and end turn. Now the mutant is close, switch to your rifle and burst fire him to death [blocks all commands]".

Instead of that shit we get this (from Underrail Wikia):

Mutated Dog

Hellish beasts, usually in packs of 3-5. Most of the time accompanied by an even more hellish beast, the Mutant. Together they form a very formidable team and their ultimate hellish plan is to hear your lamentations as you press that F9 button one too many times.

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

(It's funny cuz it's true :negative::negative::negative:)

The big thing that Depot A taught me was that level 8 gives you a HUGE power spike. Mutants were anally raping my character left and right, until I said "fuck it, imma do some exploring". Found some oddities -> level 8 -> +1 CON + juggernaut -> WIN!

I don't know if I asked it but was the mutant dog leather armor severly nerfed or are you guys just not taking crafting? Just make the armor equip it and laugh your way through the most annoying attacks in depot A.

I ended up not being able to craft the dog armour because it needs chemistry and I had every crafting skill but.

Xbow/Stealth nears Core City, tempted to start an unarmed/melee run. I must have taken 5-6 dudes to City and abandoned them, already.

I have to give thumbs up to the level design, which makes exploring a pleasure (even if sometimes where the hell I am within a 15+map sprawl is annoying); the oddity system, which was implemented superbly; and the combat / character system.

Thumbs down to a couple of really annoying quests that should have been axed, but instead one is mandatory (cave hopper capture, booooooring am I playing a browser game) and another is just a waste of time (the remote controlled bot, holy shit there's only 1 button to press at any given time and it takes you minutes to move back and forth and back and forth).

For the bot if you dump the controller into two quick bar slots you can make the commands operate and move so it cuts down on the annoyance by like 500%, just tapping 6-7 makes it so much easier.

With hoppers if you have stealth you can just walk right up and capture them, someone in this thread pointed that out saving me so much aggravation, until i make a character with no stealth or throwing i guess.

I figured that out after a while, and yes it did cut the annoyance by 500% - but the reduced annoyance was still far too great, because the puzzle itself is essentially not fun at all. It's not a puzzle - it's just "click the buttons in the only order you can press them".

Same with hoppers - there are easy ways and hard ways to do them, but ultimately there's no danger, no nothing, just the prospect of getting a shitty boring quest done quickly or getting frustrated.

Neither should have made the cut. They have no redeeming qualities.

After saving Sully and the citizens held hostage on level 3 of the sms compound, I wish there was a way for them to join south station instead of being left down there with no where to go. Could even be a future quest chain with Sully.

Heh, heh. I just got my first Invictus character. Possible arena spoiler. Do not read if you haven't met the current Invictus of the arena.

I couldn't beat Carnifex with my one-shot-everything sniper because he always gets the first turn, nets me, then proceeds to punch me 20 times.
I couldn't beat Carnifex with my 36 DT, 95% DR assault rifle toting tin can warrior because he always gets the first turn, nets me, then proceeds to punch me 50 times, stunning, incapacitating, and lowering my strength from 9 to 3 with Crippling Strike so my aim was down to like 10%. He eats through my HP bit by bit an the duel will last around 15-20 rounds.

Just a few minutes ago I entered the arena with my 15(17) dex, 10 agi knife swinging psychopath. I got first the first turn at last, having like +3 from his initiative roll. My first action was getting near him enough to land a flashbang with reasonable aim. He failed to resist. I activated my sprint and took my adrenaline shot and went behind him. Pressed "5" to stealth. Second round he was still incapacitated. I went ahead and shanked him with Cut Throat stunning him for three rounds. I then proceed to do what he always did to me. Hit me 80 times per round until he died. 5 AP per shank. Feels good, man.

Would it be possible to add a 30 fps option for the refresh rate? My laptop is ok for older games but is getting low fps that is why the mouse is lagging so bad I guess. Shadowrun had that and it help me play on my laptop a lot

Hmmm I'm not sure the character should have access to Core City after Junkyard.

There seems to be a massive power spike, from all the loot, money and best items in the game from Core City, so early in the game. Hmm. Let's see how difficult it getes from here on out.

Have you guys been playing with new psi abilities? Disruptive field gives enemy a 49% chance to miss with ranged and thrown weapons for 2 turns, its pretty much a giant "stop" button for enemies as combined with high dodge and evasion anyway it is more of a don't hit me for two turns ability, i am have started using it on energy weapons characters who i can't soak away it makes them so much less dangerous, unsure if works with telekentic proxy it is a single target ability.

But Core City doesn't have the best items. Their shops are better than Junkyard for sure but their quality is far from the best.

Edit: Blaine, I would edit my post and use a spoiler tag but the edit button has disappeared yet again. Does it have a timer or something? That's pretty weird.

Newfags aren't allowed to edit their posts after a short period of time has passed, presumably so that if that they post something hilariously stupid they can't go back and attempt to rewrite history.

I don't understand the complaints about dodge/evasion. My monk is pretty untouchable unless I'm stunned. Just be sure you don't have any armor penalty and make short of character that can stun you.

Look, the font is too small on bigger resolutions. Some people have an issue with that. Please notice "some" people like in other people than yourself and accept that as a fact.

Who is wrong about this? (1) People who genuinely have a problem with the font size and complain about it or (2) people who tell others that there is no problem because ... they don't get it. Or maybe they don't want to get it.

Anyway, it doesn't matter because there is a simple solution available (lowering resolution) which makes the issue insignificant. I propose to drop this topic because the font size is the last thing we should discuss when talking about Underrail.

I'm playing 10 agi with max dodge/evasion, infused siphoner tabi boots and leather armor. I'm still getting hit.. But since I have 80 move points without buffs and 5 AP per melee strike, I'm killing everyone before they kill me. I think the only problem with this setup is that if a lucky electro bolt hits me and/or goes through my shield I'm pretty much dead. A single pummel also kills me if I don't wipe everyone out on my turn. Right, that psi stun kills me instantly too. If I ever encounter a psi user using that flying fuck you fist I'm pretty much throwing every alpha strikes at him.

Edit:

Fortunately for me I didn't have to suffer much from spiders and their death traps. I took into consideration that doing a 3PE/low traps character is going to have a hard time with spiders and other kinds of traps. I searched fast and hard for the first available motion sensor nightvision gear and got the Paranoia perk early.
