Cis-Het Oppressor
I hadn't realized that I possess the visual acuity of a USAF test pilot until I read all these complaints about Underrail's font.
Set the background for the dialog box to solid oppacity and put the font on large size = no problemo. And yes, I'm a mole with big glasses.I hadn't realized that I possess the visual acuity of a USAF test pilot until I read all these complaints about Underrail's font.
Well, me and my two best friends usally gift each other a "small" (~10 golds) game for christmas via Steam. I got my candidate for this year and I hope they enjoy it as much as I do.
By the way: Do you get a map ingame later, like an ingame item? I started drawing a map on a piece of paper and it's fun to do, but I'm curious if there will be any ingame map function. (Please don't tell me I missed an obvious button for map )
I'm playing a melee char atm and on hard difficulty it's quite a challenge so far. I often have to retreat from certain enemies and come back later. Good times.
But I also found sort of a bug that's really frequent and already was there in the pre release version:
Sometimes when clicking at an enemy with a melee weapon equipped my char approaches him like usual but them cannot attack. That only happens when they are facing each other in a chokepoint, like a doorway. There is no gap between them, it just seems that my char can't get to the exact spot that triggers the attack animation. It's a bit annoying because the enemy still can attack (I guess it works a bit different for ranged weapons).
There is a huge amount of content, but it would be really cool if there was more of a reason to revisit earlier areas, by sprinkling higher difficulty quests around SGS and having people comment on your latest actions.

I was able to deal with Stalkers with my stealth/crossbow guy but I have problems vs every other groups of raiders in that area (Lunatics and Lurkers).I just finished the caves including the mushroom grove and wanted to go to gsm compund. On the way I get my ass handed to me by stalkers. I leveled melee and guns to use a hammer until I can use a big rifle, since I have min agi/dex and only 6 per I thought that would be better than using guns. I also have no avoid/dodge because I thought the big armors wil take care of that for me.
Now I have the problem that I ant seem to craft any good gear, only standard leather stuff I already have, same goes for weapons. Is that like it should be or did I do something wrong?
Well it's not frequent, just relatively frequent (enough to annoy me). ^^
I can handle it, but it still often results in reloads given the difficulty level.

What do you mean you can't craft good stuff? I can and I only have all the crafting skills around 25-35. Leveled all of them though, I'm a completionist, so I can't even pass on crafting medicine. You have to be a bit lucky to find lower quality components though but loot and merchants aren't exactly scarce.
To craft halfway decent armor and weapons you at least need tailoring, mechanics and electronics (for the upgrades that do extra damage like electro-shock generators for example).
After you're done talking with Gorsky, interact with one of the shooting range console pads to configure target distance and start a new session. It's time to equip your gun from your inventory I and reload it Shift + Q if you haven't already done so. Complete a target practice session by scoring 10 hits and end the session, then tell Gorsky that you're done with the target practice (200XP).
Let Tanner know you're done with the warm-up (50 XP). Success.
That was part of the old mini-tutorial. Practice with Gorsky should be optional at this point and not an actual quest task; Tanner used to send you to do that shortly after the game began. The wiki probably hasn't been updated.
Should I even be in depot A at around level 7? Mutants are.. challenging.

Thanks Blaine.
I registred at Watch before coming to Codex and I passed this part pretty easy. So how does your theory hold? (of course I play on Normal but you didn't specify difficulty :D)The Underrail gauntlet is as follows:
During the first thirty minutes to one hour, console gamers will quit due to the absence of quick travel, auto-mapping, quest markers, fonts scaled for TVs, gamepad compatibility, voice acting, and Cinematic® QTE Experiences™.
The GMS Compound will weed out those who consider themselves "hardcore old school PC gamers" (RPGWatch et al.) because they'll encounter something frustrating and difficult, then quit when they can't find any cheat codes.
Depot A is the final test of your resolve. Most people who make it past GMS Compound will also make it through Depot A, and frankly, Depot A verges on unfair. In my view, it's meant to teach you to be a cheesy bastard and not get too attached to hoarding consumables.
Head to SGS level 1. You may also ask Essie for directions, but head north.
