I just finished replaying BG on Exult, and using 320x240 X2 definitely wasn't gamebreaking for me. I don't think the resolution you have is going to cause any problems, only might cause certain puzzles to become really obvious; like the throne of many changes

Well, 320x240 is a very small change from the original. If you put it too high you might have problems with certain eggs (script triggers) which begin to start on getting on screen. Might have been fixed by now, but was a problem at one time.

I just play it in windowed mode and use hq3x and use the default resolution. Works and looks just fine.

I hate all the fancy scalers that give the game anti-aliasing and shit. It just doesn't look right, plus it's a pain on the eyes. Use the point scaler, which just increases the resolution without messing around with anything else. The game was made back when every pixel mattered, and looks best when you can see all of dem pixels.
