Rance Quest, technically "Rance VIII," continues sometime after the events of Sengoku Rance. Unlike the previous title, this is not a simulation game—instead, it is a role-playing game similar to Rance 6, but tweaked to include features from Sengoku Rance and Toushin Toshi 3. Based on teaser informations, parts of the story take place in the magic kingdom, Zeth, which explains the return of former Ice Flame members.
On May 20, 2011, a plot device was introduced to explain why formerly high-leveled characters, such as Uesugi Kenshin, begin at low levels. During the progress of this game, Rance will be cursed by Pastel Kalar, the Kalar queen, preventing him from H-ing women under "Level 35." Also, women he does manage to H will revert to "Level 1" due to the curse.

A trial version was released on May 27, 2011. Players may briefly read fourth-wall breaking conversations, explore the map, battle once, and submit survey reports to Alice Soft; the demo is mostly for players to test whether their systems can handle the 3D graphic-intensed game. On a related note, Rance Translation Project has released a fan translation of this demo.

Game Patch (ie Jap version) status

Version 1.100 fixes certain bugs, adds more quests, and tweaks the game mechanics. Notable changes include, but are not limited to, F Laser requiring only Level 38 to learn, being able to level-up more than once per battle, and removing Hammer Knowledge's effect of breaking the damage cap. If you are concerned about conflicts from applying the patch, although there should not be any, make sure to back-up your save data and ランス・クエスト.ain. Also, check here if you have problems accessing the webpage.
Version 1.15 corrects more bugs, and makes additional changes. First, it removes the skill templates; for instance, every character can now learn Capture Knowledge and Treasure Identification. And every Fighter can learn Berserker. However, all weapon knowledges initially cost 2 points, and then 3 points subsequently. Second, the encounter rate's formula has changed; encounter reducing/increasing skills are now based on footsteps. Lastly, the rate for rare items has improved.

Nanashi no Game (The Nameless Game) a horror/RPG hybrid ;) for NDS from Squaresoft got fan-translation.

Warning: I've watched an LP of this game. Extremely linear, boring gameplay. Play at your own risk.

I have finished my translation patch for Deep Dungeon IV for the Famicom/NES. This is an all-new translation featuring expanded text and menus. It should be complete and bug-free. Translation and editing by odino and snark, and a little further by me.

Definitely worth a play. This one features a non-linear structure. It is also much less dependent on RNG luck than the prior games. And thus it is perhaps easier than the others.

So, now this only leaves III as the last untranslated Deep Dungeon. Still plan to finish that one, too. Don’t know when though. That game is kind of unbalanced and has a couple dumb things in it (like characters randomly fumbling, and thus de-equipping, their weapons). :P

Never playerd it. Looks like a blobber. I know some denizens try every game in the genre, so I'll wait for their feedback.

Game Review - by (wraith)
Deep Dungeon is a series of first-person RPGs that was developed by Square (but oft-published by other companies). The game is nothing much to write home about, the thing with first-person RPGs is that if you’ve played one, you’ve played them all, and this is no exception.

Daiteikoku translation patch now at 25%. It's totally playable to halfway through though. The gameplay alone is worth the effort. A few battles are all you need to understand the vast majority of gameplay mechanics, and some light math will let you plan your victories out ahead of time.

Daiteikoku. Basically WW2 in space! In case you haven't figured it out you play as Japan
daiteikoku.jpg

Years before the Universe was United, small Human fractions dotted parts of the vast Universe. Individual States were established and navigating to other areas of the Solar system required a few hundred years. Contact with other countries was virtually impossible.

Soon the Eris Empire noted the strange stars that existed in the space region. As their Research advanced, they discovered that these stars can move instantly from one area to another area.

Labeling it the “Warp Gate” This allowed many stars systems that had been isolated to make first contact with each other and so began the Age of Discovery.

Through Aggression and conquest, Repeated Destruction and Submission, the Nations began to build civilizations from one star to the next.

The “Star field network Diagram” – Became the New World Map.

In 939 AD Space unity.

Nations asked why the leaders of the three powers are seeking power...

The National Eris Empire Council is the worlds largest empire able to restore the world order and suppress chaos.

Imperial Japan was the world's oldest nation, and worn out during the prolonged war with the Chinese empire, it is the largest one being targeted.

Description

A “traditional” Japanese dating sim for girls.

But the boys are all pigeons.

You are a human attending an all-pigeon high school.

And you live in a cave.

EDIT : Waiting eagerly for a 100% patch of Daiteikoku. Too bad you play as Japan, but I'm just nitpicking.

Anyone played this: Hanachirasu

Looks interesting and translation is available.

I tried it out. Found two notable things about it:

1. It's partially written by a Japanese swordsmanship freak, which results in long tangents about the history of the aforementioned, as well as very technical descriptions of battles. On a positive side, it is very realistic, with no bullshit superpowers, swords cutting through bullets, and other retarded crap so often found in anime. For instance, almost every battle is over after one attack/counter, which is exactly how combat with actual katanas plays out. I'm a fag for realistic swordplay, so I liked it, but I can see how it can be really boring for other people.

2. It is a very simple and straightforward revenge story, except told from the perspective of the villain. And there is no visible effort to make him sympathetic or justify his actions. So he goes around murdering, raping, fucking shit up for everyone, and not really caring about anything except the antagonist (very much a heroic antagonist). It's pretty refreshing to see this kind of thing, and the game is quite short so the novelty doesn't wear off. Oh, and he's really girly looking, which adds to the amusement.

Oh, and it's supposed to be a hentai game, but it really isn't. The few sex scenes included are short, trivial, and very clearly intended to characterize rather than as fap material.

Commander, I truly want to believe in what you say but sadly...
I know you know that I know that the Codex know that Bee is an alt.

Do you remember the day you gave me the grenade launcher?
When you said there were interferences in the juxtapositional field?

Madness aside I logged in today after a while and I got alerts and achievements from the Codex and I'm getting stalked? What oh what is going on?

And this:

No translation, you'd need to force people who can do Japanese translations.

Is Shadow Tower Abyss better than Skyrim?

Just tried Rondo of Blood, and it's badass. I sortof regret that the patch translates voices into English (taken from the PSP version) because they are of noticeably lower quality.

Hello? Have you come to teach me my first EVAR Dragonshout?
I don't want to sound prejudiced, but you look like shit - low number of polygons, no shoulderpads, etc. (Japs cannot into proper NPC design).
Well, how about this Dragonshout?
