New translation out for the NES version of Last Armageddon (there was an older, machine translation-quality level translation out there, but this seems to be a proper one). Also, the NES version of the game is supposedly the worst version of the game, but it's the only one in English so that's what it is. Never played it, though it does look interesting. It's a RPG/dungeon crawler thing.

That might just be because it was bad in comparison to its contemporaries. There's another JRPG that started on computers but got ported to consoles later where the SNES version is supposedly a kusoge called Laplace no Ma, but supposedly isn't that bad of a game.
Either way I do wish that sometimes fan translators would work on a computer version of these games for once. :(

Laplace no Ma is weird, as the other versions are dungeon crawlers but they made a more classical looking jrpg for the SNES port, but the content seems to be the same, just a shift in perspective (from what I read, never played it)

I played both games so I can give some hindsights.

Last Armageddon is terrible, you can explore the world map, which is cool, but there's nothing there, the dungeons are completely empty and the combat is below average. Translation used to be so terrible that they removed it from romhacking, but that was far from the only problem of the game.

Laplace no Ma is much better. It's very much an old western RPG regarding balance, skills, puzzles and crawling. It feels P&P-inspired and used a skill system which clearly is. If you like low key, medium scale games you're going to love it, numbers increase slowly, you don't find ton of items, combat is well balanced, the rooms are quite detailed with furnitures to inspect and there is the right amount of puzzles for an exploration-focused RPG, not ton but just enough.

I don't know what's going on with this. They've been translating this game for like 15 years and they're still releasing beta versions. It's the Duke Nukem Forever of fan translations. Just get it over with already.

Which is about the same length of time as fans of the other Camelot RPG franchise have gone without a sequel despite the last entry ending on a cliffhanger.

Does anyone know if there is a re-translation of Shining Force II for the genesis, or at least a hack that re-enables the ability to open chests in combat?

Digimon Story: Lost Evolution (DS) was finally translated by OperationDecoded, the same group that worked on Digimon World ReDigitize (PSP) and ReDigitize Decode (3DS).

Hello everyone and Happy New Year!

While it’s already 2023 in some time zones, some are still getting there. Nevertheless, places to go, kittens to save, so we thought we would give you one last late Christmas present

Thought to be lost to time, we finally present you our Lost Evolution Translation!
After months of sweat, tears, and the odd mental breakdown, the Lost Evolution Translation Project is complete!
As with our last release, we only provide the patch bundled with XDelta. If you have played our previous Decode Patch, it’s pretty much the same procedure.

You will have to provide your own dump. Given the nature of the DS there are some limitations we will have to live with:

1) You will not be able to enter Nicknames for Digimon >8 characters. The Default Names will however display the full Name of the Digimon.
2) The Player Name cannot be >5 characters.
3) As you already know from Dusk/Dawn, some names had to be shortened, given the limited space
on the screen available. This was already the case with the Japanese release of this game.
4) The game runs most smoothly on Hardware and melonDS. While we don’t discourage the use of other emulators, you may or may not run into issues with them.

Last but not least: While we strive to do a good job, sometimes even we still miss things. Should you spot anything worth reporting, you can contact us via opdecoded@gmail.com

- Patch 1.1:

A full week has passed since our release of the Lost Evolution Translation and we've been collecting feedback and reports in the meantime to address any and (hopefully) most of the issues, to provide an even better experience.

The following things were addressed:

- Fixed Personalities being all "Carefree" Bug
- Fixed Greyed out Bug for Evolution Conditions met
- Fixed Inconsistencies in Quest Naming
- Fixed Graphics Bug with Attack Numbers
- Fixed some Skill Names/Descriptions
- Fixed Digimon Name Inconsistencies
- Fixed Areas where Text was cut off
- Miscellaneous Typos/Bug Fixes
- Wifi Setup is now English as Wifi Settings with melonDS are working! Trading, Battling and Matching all confirmed working

ZIll O'll Infinite, one of the games that has forever been dismissed as never getting translated (unless maybe Koei did a modern port and gave it an official translation) has had a full translation relased. It's an RPG with branching paths, freeform character customization, and multiple endings, to the point it may just be a full on western RPG made in Japan instead of a jRPG.

Zill was always semi popular compared to the more obscure shit.
